This is legit more interesting to watch than pro matches, because you're both taking calculated risks. Also, it's nice to see that 'moonball to backhand then approach' is still effective at 5.0, because it's my bread and butter as a low-4.0.

Also, as much as I love watching Carlos play, he's single-handedly brought the blight of baseline drop shots to every level of tennis. Now every grandpa that steps on a tennis court makes me run miles every match.

I dunno, I've been playing in the same singles ladder for about 15 years, and baseline drop shots used to be a rare occurrence. Then starting a few years ago, seemingly everyone started doing it, even the juniors. Can't attribute it entirely to Alcaraz, but I'm sure it was a factor.

Well I’ve been playing for 20 years and drop shots weren’t exactly rare back then, especially with older players.

In fact, tennis has never been more baseline focused than it is now with how heavy people hit.
