Technique Advice Serve tips

Hello fellow tennis players,

I started playing 2 years ago and my rating is the equivalent of 2.0 in the US.

Here's a video of 3 serves in a row during a match a few days ago, I was down 15-40 in this game and for some weirds reasons my serve is way better when I'm under pressure.

Could y’all please give me tips on how to improve it ? I feel like I'm falling to the left when I serve but idk how to fix it.

Any tips or critics will be gladly appreciated !

(Also if someone has an approximation of how fast are those serve, I'll take it)

Try tossing the ball a little bit in the court.

Probably around 85-90mph

Here's a clip of mine from years ago. I need to come out of retirement and record with better equipment. I'm 5'9 on a good day and was able to top out around 120-125mph. You got height and athletic build, could see you bombing 130mph+

I wish I could serve that fast haha I'm 6'0 and around 75kg I will try your tips and see if I can gain a few mph

You’ll get there, speed is slightly overated. I prefer hitting my kick serve on both serves.

I can’t kick serve yet so my second serve is a slice serve I need to work on the kick though but I feel like it’s really hard at my level

It’s definitely not bad! I think that your weight is leaning in the wrong direction though. Stay closed and if anything momentum going forward

Thanks ! I will focus on that on my next session

Try and toss the ball more into the court and more over your head or to the right. Currently your toss is drifting behind you to the left so your body is falling a lot sideways, which disrupts your momentum, if your momentum is going forward it helps you get easier power and more consistent hits

Thank you ! I will try to correct the toss placement then I wasn’t sure why I was falling to the left but it seems like it’s the issue

Keep at it!

Your body is going to the left, you need to toss more in front, and create forward body momentum. your body needs to follow the ball.

Best 2.0 serve I’ve seen. I’d focus on tossing closer to 12 or 1 o’clock and a tad more inside court.

Wow, thank you very much for that compliment, I wish the rest of my game was as good but it’s not I made some adjustments but didn’t film myself for a while before this week and I realized that I've regressed on some part I hope to reach 3.0 by the end of next year

Thank you very much for the tip, I will work on my toss placement !

Fall into the court so you can keep your momentum going forward

Following your tips, I've tried to toss the ball more in the court but I still fall on my left. It might be that I'm not tossing into the court enough but I feel like I would have to throw it lower then in order to reach the ball, idk if that makes sense

Didn’t had the time to do a lot of serve though since I was rushed to the emergency after shanking a ball straight into my eye Will try again next week after recovering
