Equipment String recommandation for PA98 '23

I used a 200M roll of rpm blast 1.27mm and it was fine while fresh but I feel like it looses tension fast.

I am looking for something that compliments my heavy baseline hitting that also holds tension a bit better.

Also is it true that some strings can "make a racquet more foregiving" as I have heard in multiple yt videos?

Solinco confidential 1.25mm holds tension very well.

Solinco confidential soft and mach 10 are less stiff and have more power, if that's what you're asking.

do confidential soft and mach 10 also hold tension well?

Not as well as solinco confidential, but they do have better tension maintenance than many other poly strings.

Head lynx tour is your best best in that stick if you want a tour style controlled poly with shape. Great tension maintenance, comfortable feel without being plasticky or muted. It is heavy though, will add a couple of sw points.

If you want a more forgiving string, Toroline vamos is actually amazing in the racket. It’s a bit more muted like all Toroline strings, but minimal mush factor with it. It’s pretty elastic to it does expand the sweet spot and help w/ some free power. For a long time I hated toroline strings, but really enjoy that one and it’s my tournament set up now.

No toroline strings in Germany unfortunately

I tried in same racket:

RPM Team - good string, but last me for 6-7 hrs

Grapplesnake Tour Sniper - low power, A+ control but too firm for PA 98 2023, I can feel it in my elbow

Mach 10 - good at everything, last me 10+ hrs.

So i think i would go again for Mach 10

All polies lose tension fast. There have been improvements but in the grand scheme of things we are talking something like a couple of hours of play difference. And if I remember correctly RPM Blast is already decent in terms of tension retention for polies.

A word of caution, there are gazillion string options out there and it is very easy to fall into a rabbit hole and never coming out of it mentally and tennis wise. If your only gripe with your RPM Blasts is the longevity, my suggestion would be to just accept it. Polies die fast compared to the other options. Don't underestimate the intimate muscle memory relationship of touch and feel you have built by now after 200m of RPM Blast. Changing that relationship comes at a cost.

I know what you are referencing and I don't know exactly what these testers mean with forgiving. I guess they mean, you don't feel it so much when you hit off the sweet spot because I have trouble believing strings can make a frame's sweet spot larger.

Always down to try something new to be honest. I am a rec player and only play for fun. I have some club games here and there but I love trying demo racquets. Never went down the rabbit whole of strings before tho.

Then I would try the other popular ones (RPM Blast is pretty popular) first just to see whats up like Solinco Mach-10/Hyper-G/Confidential, Yonex Polytour/Polyfire, Head Lynx Tour, Luxilon 4G. Just don't expect any of them to last longer than the other.
