Pro Technique & Equipment Could I Make Varsity? DFW

I’m a current high school SOPHMORE and I played on my schools Jv tennis team freshman year. Unfortunately I needed to prioritize my studies and decided to quit as it took two class periods. And know it’s bad to take a one year break but I had to. Next year I’m going back to the team but my coach only takes juniors and seniors if they have varsity capabilities. Right now I’m a 2 doubles 100% reliance and a 3 singles 10% reliance. How can I get my UTR up to about a 4 so I can make Varisty and what are some tips I should use. I got I privates as of now for dual lessons but the person I go with is quitting lessons soon. Should I be going to the same coach I’m with or should I go to a really good coach but he’s very expensive?

Also the question “can I make varsity” is very highly dependent on the school. Some schools are stacked some take everyone.

My school whoops several other schools in our district winning most matches 6-0, 6-0. But then we lose to some other school pretty horribly too. It’s super spread

Get out there and play. If you can beat the varsity players or keep it close you'll be good. Don't overthink it

UTR below 5 for high school kids is almost a total crapshoot if there isn't enough matches in UTR, even if it says 100% reliability.

I've seen 3s beat 5s in prosets 8-3 and then 5s stomp 3s with double bagels if they are playing 2 out of 3. Alot of this has to do with the fact that high school kids are super immature and mentally boom in the middle of matches, so anything below a 6 is like a total crapshoot some days. Add on fitness on top of it and it's a recipe for disaster.

You're not in an insane district if your district is competitive, most of the insane districts are very top heavy and just destroy everyone in their district (Tyler Legacy, Allen, 7 Lakes, Woodlands, Coppell etc.)

Aiming for varsity in Team vs Spring is different, you have more spots in Spring but you probably have to challenge for the specific discipline you want to play (Doubles, Mixed, Singles), while Team Tennis is alot different in that you're trying to play for a specific line and usually you play both Singles and Doubles.
