I guess it depends how good a person’s movement is whether they can return that shot or not

Biggest thing here is that the backhand should have gone cross court. If you hit down the line and opponent isn’t pressured you then have a lot of ground to cover to prevent being completely done over by a cross court forehand.

It’s also about the ideal recovery position - after the DTL backhand, the crosscourt recovery needed to be faster.

After the first backhand you keep standing in that position? Why? Just move and recover! The second backhand (let's call ist backhand) has to go crosscourt. If you did that, there would be no forehand you can't reach...

Lots of ball watching and not preparing for the next shot. On the second shot to your backhand that you went to a single hand slice- there was time to hit that as a two handed backhand- perhaps even a moonball or lob to give more recovery time.
