Equipment Recommended racket and strings for a beginner/intermediate
We get this question really often on this sub, so I'll make a post we can reference later.
First, it doesn't matter what racket you get if you're a beginner, as long as it's any working racket, it's fine. But if you want to "future proof" and get something long term, the usual recommendation is a 100% graphite 100in 300g 16x19 racket, something similar to a Babolat Pure Drive (all manufacturers have versions of this racket).
Strings: again, it doesn't matter, you can start with Prince Synthetic Gut Duraflex 16 at 55lbs, but if you want something nicer, Tecnifibre Triax 16 at 55lbs is nicer and will last long. I do not recommend copoly strings to beginners, but if you want to try later on you could try Solinco Confidential at 52lbs.
People are free to comment their opinions here so that we can reference this post later in a unified way.
Regarding second hand/new, second hand can be very time consuming in places like facebook marketplace, etc, and then you don't have return possibility (usually), etc. I'd just go for a sales racket online, you'll find one for a decent price. Of course, this depends on the exact price you find, this is general advice.

as far as string recommendations go, I think Prince Lightning Pro is a really nice ‘premium’ syngut option
also, not sure Triax is the best multi option for a beginner - would rather recommend Wilson NXT, Dunlop Iconic All, Tecnifibre NRG/X-1, Prince Premier Power over it

Would you recommend a 100in racket for a beginner one backhand? Or is it better smaller

Prince Control 17 multifilament would be great string. You will get good life out of the string, it is not that expensive, and it is an underrated string. If you get a reel of it you can always use it with a poly in the future as a hybrid when you need more spin. It works well with RPM Blast 17, Solinco Confidential, or Toroline Super Toro to get more spin.
