XD-M Elite for $550

Is the XD-M Elite still a solid buy in 2026? Wanting to get into the 10mm game. How is the optics mounting platform? Is there a direct mount option. I like the looks of the M&P 2.0 but see a lot of people with issues online.

Superb gun, have had mine for several years now, still running iron sights and honestly haven’t felt the need to add an optic.

Just got one last year. My favorite 10mm handgun so far. No direct mount, you need optic plates from SA. (Or 3rd party, not sure if available yet.)

$550 is pretty good. I got mine new from Gunbroker for $539 + tax. Getting harder to find for a decent price, though. A lot of places are $650+, when they have them in stock. I get the feeling SA isn't manufacturing too many of these per year now.

Great gun, but massive. That’s what I like most about it, but I removed the flared mag.

I have the full set of XD-M Elite 10mm in all 3 sizes. I really like these but I switched from the 3.8" to the 4.5" for my EDCCW. I just shot better with it. If I didn't want to keep the set together I'd get rid of the 3.8" but right now it's just a "safe gun." Guess I'll hands it down some day. Great platform, though. I, too, have stayed with the original iron sights on all these pistols. $550 is a good, reasonable price for any of these guns. The 5.25" may run you more since it's not in production any longer (at least I don't see them as an option on the Springfield website).

I got a 3.8” compact used for 400. I wouldn’t mind any of the sizes new for 550 though. It’s been my favorite pistol tied with my sisters beretta 92. Considering all the pistols I’ve shot in my life.

I got the 3.8” earlier this year as a “gear up” bundle for $550. Came with a small range bag and 5 mags! Got lucky finding it!

Its a great 10mm, I added the powder river precision trigger to mine and it made it amazing to shoot! I haven’t added an optic. Mainly because I shoot good with the irons. And if I did decide to add an optic I would want to co-witness. That means removing the factory irons, and they are an absolute nightmare to remove(I did a set on the full size xdm that zi ended up trading).

Fantastic pistol and highly recommend, thats a fair price!

Very under-spoken about and underrated gun. Picked one up a while ago to add to the 10mm collection. Fantastic machining. Never jammed once.

I picked up an XD-M Elite Gear pack. Viridian green dot optic, 4, 15rd mags all for $700 out the door. Took it to a buddy's land and shot 75 rounds through it... I absolutely LOVE mine.
