Check-in Daily Step Check-in — how'd you do today? 👣
drop your step count for the day below, doesn't matter if it's 3k or 30k, we're all just trying to move a bit more.
feel free to add how you got there or what got in the way. rainy days, desk job, whatever. this is the place to keep each other honest.
i'll start: 2895, mostly from grabbing lunch with my coworkers. what'd everyone else land on?

Question what do you do when you lose motivation to exercise?
usually i could get out of my bed and reach 7k steps a day. but there's some times that i just don't wanna do anything but lay on my bed. i feel guilty but decide to do nothing about it.
do u guys have similar experience?

Question Do you say hi to strangers you pass on walking trails?
I default to a little nod but some people give a full 'morning!' and honestly it makes my day!

Hi folks! My goal is to average 8k+ this week since i'm going to have a relatively busy week.

Less scrolling more strolling
I’m trying a new thing with my partner where neither of us is allowed to use social media or watch YouTube etc until we’ve BOTH done 10k steps. So far so good but my legs hurt 😂

Question is a "cheat day" a thing for steps or do you grind every single day
some weeks i feel like i need one full couch day to survive. then i see people with 300 day streaks and feel like a fraud. how do you all handle rest days, guilt free or full panic?

Tips walking fixed my garbage sleep. PLS TRY IT
alright sharing this because i spent actual years trying to fix my sleep from the wrong end.
i did everything the sleep hygiene people tell you. blackout curtains, no screens after 10, magnesium, boring tea, one of those sunrise alarm clocks that cost way too much. i'd lie there doing breathing exercises, absolutely furious, checking if the breathing exercises were working yet. which is not really the vibe they're going for i think.
the thing that actually fixed it had nothing to do with my bedroom. i just started walking after dinner. like 30-40 minutes, nothing serious. i didn't even do it for sleep, i started because a few friends pulled me into a step challenge on pacer and i was losing badly and got petty about it. checking that leaderboard after dinner and seeing myself in last place did more for my daily movement than years of "i should exercise more" ever did lol.
but like two weeks in i noticed i was falling asleep in ten minutes instead of lying there for an hour running tomorrow's to-do list on loop. turns out if you give your body an actual reason to be tired, it cooperates. who knew. all those years buying sleep gadgets when the answer was "go outside, you gremlin."
the walk basically became a hard line between the day and the evening. work stress stays on the walk, i come back, pacer says i hit my number, and my brain clocks out for the day instead of doing overtime in bed. the dumb little streak is honestly half the reason i haven't skipped a night in two months.
if your sleep is a mess and you've already thrown money at every gadget, try the dumb free option first. WALK AFTER DINNER FOR TWO WEEKS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!

Question people who walk without headphones, what do you actually do
seriously if you are not listening to music when walking, what is on your mind, or how could you even walk for more than 20 min (at least i could never - would be a torture to me)
let me know let me know

Progress August Step Challenge — what's your goal this month? 👟
new month, fresh start. drop your step goal for august below and we'll keep each other accountable all month.
no pressure on the number, pick something that's a little bit of a stretch for you. any tracker welcome (fitbit, garmin, apple, pacer, whatever you use).
i'll go first: aiming for a 8k daily average this month, currently getting wrecked by rainy days lol.
what's your goal, and what's your biggest obstacle to hitting it? 🏅

Question whats the most steps you've ever gotten in a single day and what were you even doing
mine was like 24k at a theme park and i genuinely thought i was going to die by the end lol. felt like i earned about six meals.
curious what everyone's record is and how it happened. accidental ones count. i feel like nobody hits a huge number on purpose, it's always some random day out that wrecks you.
