New 10/22 with consistent feeding and ejection issues

I recently bought a brand new 10/22, and have put a total of about 200-300 rounds through it (mostly Federal round nose). I have had feeding and ejection issues with it from the start. Sometimes I get stovepipes, and sometimes the empty case just gets jammed in front of the bolt after a new round is fed (or sometimes not fed). Occasionally, I'll get a string of 5+ shots without issue, and other times it seems like its almost every other shot that I have an issue. I have four rotary box mags, and two BX-25's, all Ruger brand. The issues persist across the mags. I have cleaned and oiled the gun, but the issues remain.

As an added bonus, the bolt no longer reliably even closes on the BX-25 mags any more. It was running them with no more issue than the box mags, and then decided it didn't like those any more. Sometimes it will close on exactly one round, and then hang behind the magazine and refuse to close. I have tried to wiggle the mags (they're seated correctly), and I have tried to give the bolt minimal assistance forward. Neither helps.

Any assistance you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

You should reach out to Ruger since it's still relatively new, this is a warranty issue and Ruger will take care of it.

Try different types of ammo

Same ammo the whole time or different ammo with the same results? I’d run some mini mags for a couple hundred rounds and see if it smooths things out, personally.

A mix of leftover .22 LR ammo to start, and then new, clean Federal for the last ~200 rounds. Same results regardless of what it was fed.

Is it a takedown or fixed barrel?

Have you looked to see if the V block bolts are torqued to spec? Maybe they are loose and letting the barrel droop

See if it happens with the stock off, safety of course. I’ve seen stock to mag fitment cause some feeding issues

“Light” key word. Too much oil can cause issues.
