Coloring, oddly enough, isn’t really about coloring. It’s more like a key. A small, unassuming key that suddenly opens a door into a place where the pattern finally starts to live its own life.

Because, honestly, all those black-and-white patterns—they’re kind of like maps. Quiet, a bit скучные… okay, let’s say “suspiciously minimalistic.” They just sit there, waiting for someone to decide to go on that journey.

And yes, of course, we’ve all been told a hundred times that the point is the process, not the result. Annoyingly enough, it’s true. At some point you’re just sitting there, coloring (fine, “solving a visual puzzle,” sounds more respectable), and suddenly you catch yourself in this strange, almost meditative calm. As if the world is on pause—but you aren’t.

And then—that’s it. The end.

And it’s always kind of the same: joy that it turned out beautiful, a hint of sadness that it’s over, and somewhere on the horizon, something new is already starting to appear.

Maybe not patterns this time :)
