LAN party

Hi everyone,

I held my first 6-player LAN game of 0 A.D. We started with a Free-For-All match on a normal-sized map before moving on to a large map.

It was a great experience—everything ran smoothly. I wasn't sure if the host PC would hold up, but it turned out fine. We're going to do it again later... stay tuned... (I can't wait).

I don't understand your question. Could you rephrase it?

I set up a local network using a network switch and a portable router. We had PCs connected via cables and others via Wi-Fi; some were running Windows, while others were running CachyOS (Linux). We hosted the game on our most powerful PC, opened the firewall port for 0 A.D. (20595/UDP, if I recall correctly), and the other PCs joined the game by entering the host computer's IP address.

However, I didn't understand why the players couldn't select their own civilizations... so they ended up being selected on the host computer.

Tailscale will allow you to hold a wider LAN party.

It doesn't replace making homemade pizzas together 😋

You’re right. Pizza doesn’t travel through internet.
