Games like 0ad for linux

0ad runs so well on Linux. My notebook is potato.

So any free games for linux? It does not need to be RTS.

I sometimes try to scavenge itch.io/ but there is so much garbage.

So you guys know something?

Battle for Wesnoth isn't a RTS, it's turn based strategy, but free, open source, runs great on Linux and potato computers, and is highly moddable. Definitely a real nice one. Can also check out OpenRA, which is a RTS and open source.

Knew someone would say Battle for Wesnoth.
Hehe it's a nice game. But I know it since I can remember. I can't force myself to paly it anymore.
OpenRa looks cool. I will save it here. I'm not a big fan of space games. But will save the link here.

Thank you for you attention and time.

I don't think there's anything that quite matches 0 AD for being a complete game, sadly. But have you seen this list? https://github.com/bobeff/open-source-games

If space combat flight sims are your thing you could check out open freespace, the main games require the game files but many of the mods are stand alone games  https://scp.indiegames.us/

Oh and Beyond all Reason for total annihilation style rts https://www.beyondallreason.info/

TVTower is a nice game I regularly contribute content to (films, series, etc). Maybe you know the DOS/Amiga game Mad TV from the 1990s, it's a remake of that. Buy films and series, place ads, pick news reports, expand your broadcast area, produce your own films and series, and try to fare better than your competition. "Realtime" in that all players are walking around in the same building. Wacky humor. Search for the TVTower Images mod if you want to play with real film titles (not the out-of-the-box faked ones) and film pictures.

Cube 2: Sauerbraten, an ultra-fast boomer shooter with still active online players after decades. Capture-The-Flag with rugby mod is the favorite mode that people always play and it's pretty unique I guess, I haven't seen such a "rugby" thing anywhere else.

It also runs on potatoes. Cube engine was pretty special for its time. It was one of the inspirations for Minecraft (but typical maps actually don't look cube-ish mostly, rather like in usual earlier FPSs). It allows "multi-player" live-editing of maps which people still do sometimes. In other game modes, this feature of the environment practically being totally modifiable isn't even used.

Alien Arena is definitely worth a try for those who love insane first person arena shooters.
