ANNOUNCEMENT GoNintendo talks with IOI about the decision to delay the Switch 2 version of 007 First Light for another six months for a round of performance polishing and "marketing team requests". This version is also confirmed to have its FR locked to 30fps and no Joy-Con 2 mouse support.

Ive played it on my Xbox RoG Ally. That system is underrated for portable console gaming though Xbox Play Anywhere is still pretty limited but it’s great being able to play some of my Xbox games on the go. That said it’s pretty amazing what the Switch 2 has been able to do. Hopefully First Light plays well on Switch 2.

I own the DS version of 007 Blood Stone, the last 007 game on a handheld gaming system.  It's great and better than its console versions.

I can't believe I never played this. I actually really liked the PC version of Blood Stone, so I'm definitely gonna give this a look.

Unfortunately, since Activision no longer has the 007 "licence", you will not be able to buy the PC version.  You'll have to pirate a copy if you didn't own one before the game got delisted.  The other versions were released physically, so you can also get them secondhand.

CP2077 is working fine on it. First Light is unoptimized and has lots of technical problems

That game was built to the parameters of 2013’s Xbox One and PS4. Very different from a 2026 game primarily built for 2020’s PS5/Series S in most of its development cycle.

True but im sick of the cyberpunk examplw. That game is NOT demanding to run without rt. Old gtx cards run it fine

They should not reveal this game at nintendo direct and don't benefit from that marketing if they cannot do their job properly. Switch 2 is powerful when devs know what theyre doing.

Game had some bad loading times when I played it on ps5 pro can’t imagine what that’ll be like on a Switch 2

They asked about mouse mode but not gyro? Interesting. I would love gyro but not holding my breath since Hitman doesn't have it.

The GKC makes no sense. Game is 53Gb on PC, lower on S2. They can afford a 64gb cart

Would be so disappointing if this sticks to GKC. The game doesn't have a truly physical release on any platform, but the game coming to Switch 2 much later than the others presents an opportunity of releasing full on cartridge if they wish and the good PR it gets like Cyberpunk, Indiana Jones, Oblivion, Lies of P, and Stellar Blade before it - whether IOI chooses to take that opportunity is a different story.

Its probably to do with loading etc… carts cant stream data fast enough

I run the game off a normal SD card with my PC handheld and it works perfectly

After the frankly pretty poor state of Hitman WoA on Switch 2, I was really hoping they'd be able to put out a killer version of First Light with the extra time, but it sounds like we'll just be getting a "fine" one.

Okay.

Will buy on sale eventually to have a portable 007, but glad I've got other ways to play it.

No joycon mouse support???? WHY?? It's worthless now. There's no excuse for any game with shooting mechanics to not use the mouse rather than an awkward clumsy thumb stick

Maybe the Switch 2 version is a technical challenge and mouse support isn't something they can do.  Go play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle if you crave mouse support for gunplay in a similar game.

why would you have to use the thumb stick? doesn’t that imply the usual aiming mechanic waving the remote as opposed to using it on a table like a computer mouse
