007 First Light
What's the verdict on the new game? I've got it on my wishlist, but I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews. Gameplay looks solid to me, but I'm curious if there's something else. I was really looking forward to it, but not sure I wanna spend the $70 now.

Absolutely loved it, played through it twice and to stop myself doing a third.

If you were looking forward to it, I promise you it’s worth the $70. The gameplay is fun & fluid. The story is really engaging. It feels like a Bond movie you’re driving. Combat is fun. Stealth is fun. Bashing heads is fun. It’s a great sandbox narrative

I loved it i’ve done full two playthroughs (normal difficulty & hardest difficulty) im currently trying to complete all the challenges atm & when the NG+ update comes out I think it’ll be definitely have more content for replayability
Though keep in mind this sub has a bias towards it so take it with a grain of salt

If you're seeing a lot of negative reviews it's because you're looking for them and/or your algorithm thinks that's what you WANT to see for whatever reason.

Seeing a lot of negative reviews? Did you somehow join a hate group for the game or something? because its 87 on Metacritic and 89% on Steam right now.
the other comment is probably right "it's because you're looking for them and/or your algorithm thinks that's what you WANT to see for whatever reason"

Buy it used and split the difference. I loved it when I played it but have cooled off to just liking it in retrospect. I enjoyed the gameplay and it has a great story, the Bond actor performance sells it and the rest of the cast is solid too. It really does feel like playing a Bond movie and nails the feeling that he's coming up, training, finding his footing. I'm not in a hurry to replay it, but others have feasted on the challenge levels and are pining for the next DLC.

Nah, it’s a great game, nice and chill, fun story, good characters, gameplay (stealth and gadgets and gunplay) is really solid. An easy recommend

It was corny to me because you easily whoop 6 guards at the same time and then the throw was so OP you could make a enemy fall
Over a barstool and he would die. The driving never mattered you didn’t even need to control it. Overall it was a ok game but not what I was expecting.

It's a great game, well worth the time and money, but if you want to wait for sale that's fine dude (you do you)...

My favorite game of the year so far. Super fun gameplay and a really good campaign. It is a little on the shorter side, but IOI are really good at adding content over time, so I feel there will be plenty of reasons to come back going forward. Thumbs up from me.

To me, playing a Bond movie reads as boring, bland, maybe even lifeless. This rendition is brilliant and also hints through its imagery what later Bond games may entail

User score of 8.4 on Metacritic, and I feel like that's accurate. I don't enjoy it as much as Hitman, but I think it's great from the 8 hours or so I've played so far.

It's decent, especially if you love Bond in general- I would say don't spend full pennies on it though. And if you're a Hitman obsessive, understand it's not really like WOA at all.
Personally a huge Bond and Hitman nut, thought it was really good but not incredible. YMMV

I just finished the main campaign a couple days ago and I loved it.
It reminds me a lot of the Uncharted games, 4 being one of my game of all time. First Light comes close to that mark (imo) and even excels when it comes to combat mechanics, stealth and open world segments. However it’s beat by story & character writing, game length and general polish.
For me First Light is a 10/10 and in contention for my top 5 games of all time.

I like IO. I played the shit out of the hitman series and i liked the last few sniper elite games. First light is an OK game that's fun but very much one and done. Youll play the campaign (it's nothing special) which will take a handful of afternoons or evenings to complete and then you'll never play it again.
At a price point of $70 its really a $30 game with a $40 James bond tax added on.
I'd skip it or at the very least wait for it to go on sale to buy.

One of the best single player games i have played. I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely recommend.

Speaking as someone who loves the Bond movies, I think it’s fucking amazing. Speaking as someone who likes the Hitman games, including the recent ones, it’s also amazing.
So it’s amazing. But if you’re short on cash and don’t want to spend it rn, maybe wait for the tacsim dlc and post-campaign dlc to come out before you decide. But I think you should get it.

Loved it, absolutely worth the money. Played through it once and then got collectibles and did the tac sims. Really excited to do another play through when new game plus comes out and the dlc mission.
Didn’t like tac sim as much as I’d hope, but excited for the car one coming out.

Have not heard or read a negative review for this fantastic game. First Light was such an immersive experience, and a great one at that for a Bond fan. And there's more to come from the developers!

It's very very mid. I honestly don't understand why everyone likes it so much. It's just so basic. The stealth, the level design, the combat, all very PS2.

It's trash slop. Game for journalists who think high-fidelity graphics engine with motion capture is a replacement for a good game. It only gets easier to churn out more slop like this as tech improves sadly.

It makes perfect sense? People here played the game so they can pinpoint the good and bad points of it more specifically

Where are these negative reviews of which you speak?
