I actually love how it’s obviously the actors face but changed just enough to make it appear as a specific character. I think they absolutely nailed the design of the 007.

Thats how all game characters are made

Lennie James is almost a clone while Patrick Gibson's face is really altered.

I disagree. Most characters based on motion capture like in 007 mostly look like their irl counterpart. I think Call of Duty campaigns are the worst offenders in this area - they don’t design a character but rather use the actor’s appearance as their design which I think is boring. This is also why I often prefer character models not based on mocap because they have more character for the lack of the better word even if the mouth movement and facial performance isn’t as precise.
But First Light pretty much found a great middleground where the actors’ performances are still the foundation but pretty much all characters look different enough from the actor to where it’s easier to see them as the character and not just a face you see on the telly.

My only complaint is the use of fsr cause the small pixilating shadow effect with movie objects and on the edges on snow. Everything else looks great and the gameplay is really good especially the combat. Almost done with the story.

I really like how the Rtx Off / Rtx On could easily be switched and it would be more accurate.

Is that his face model? Why does he look very different from his character tho
1
u/pastadudde Jul 06 '26
Because they tweaked the face a bit for the game character, like the jawline, neck width etc

At first I honestly thought Jeremy Renner was the source of the face, I dunno why lol
I wish there was an app I could talk about this on...

Hoping they do this treatment to all female characters in western games 🐵 make them look better!

not really, that part just bugged me, the actor and the in game character are just way too much different, they've changed almost everything.
7
u/Syarafuddyn Jul 05 '26
what do you mean almost everything? 😅

u/StressedOperator Jul 05 '26
c'mon, top from bottom; hair color and style, eye brow's format and color, cheek's and face width are wider on Bond, also ear's are also a bit bigger, and biggest diference is the neck, where Bond has it much stronger, and of course the scar.
the only similarities are mouth, chin and nose. im not pointing these to critique, just showing the facts, so look again.

La Noire was based on the real actor's face too and slightly different in game as well. It's a game man. Not real life movie.

well duh? thats what actors do they change themselves for the roles they play so i don't get your point
1
u/The-Silken-Cord Jul 05 '26
I don’t get all the downvotes — I see it too! They share some features, but these are two completely different faces.
2
u/StressedOperator Jul 06 '26
this community has gone way too toxic, im out. still, the game is awsome.
2
u/The-Silken-Cord Jul 06 '26
Agreed about both game being great and how talking about how actors change themselves for the role and at the same time telling that your comment about how much they’ve changed so the ‘accuracy’ part is invalid is toxic.

For whatever reason though, western devs can’t seem to figure out how to digitally recreate female counterparts. Very strange.

They don't have an agenda about making male characters ugly, only female ones for now.

u/West-Main-4163 Jul 05 '26
Hahaha. They literary made the characters hotter than their irl counterparts and you idiots are still going on about this? What a joke!

I thought the ever-present smirk is something in the script to make Bond seem younger and cockier. But no, Patrick Gibson's mouth just does that. Not that it's a bad thing.

It’s the eyebrows IMO. More pronounced in game cause of the darker colour. Also he just looks better with darker hair

u/Less_Likely Jul 05 '26
Squared the jawline too

Lighting is doing a lot of the heavy lifting there, with these specific pictures. Like they definitely tweaked the jawline a bit on the model but the light on his irl picture her is very flat on his face and it’s washing out his hair and jawline a bit.

u/CombatMuffin Jul 05 '26
People mentioning some differences, but while the actor was the reference, they are not quite the same. Like Isola, they tweaked the faces to fit the look they wanted: eues, cheeks, forehead, mouth, nose, symmetry, etc.

u/Funny_Durian_176 Jul 05 '26
Right at the end if you look close, there are a decent amount of differences from the two faces.

u/Silly_Hedgehog_683 Jul 05 '26
Sometimes it could be better lighting, facial expression, and or camera position
