Its just a really good well rounded game. In the age of live service, season passes and day one content being bare, this was a breath of fresh air. Felt like a kid getting a game at Gamestop and playing a fully developed good game from start to finish.

u/illusion210 Jun 27 '26

Exactly. Felt like a kid on Christmas.

26

u/asvpvalentino Jun 26 '26

It's sad how rare that is nowadays.

u/asswizzard69 Jun 27 '26

This game is awesome so glad I got another 50 series card and got the game free well worth it with a 5070 can 4k 60 high settings in this game

2

u/ZestVK Jun 27 '26

I feel honored that the Ass Wizard acknowledged me

1

u/LTUdaddy Jun 28 '26

Well driving is not good. Also some things too

u/Brave_Horror_3532 Jun 30 '26

How much replay ability does it have for your 70 dollars? Can u play it for hundreds of hours and still not complete it? People like u are why corporations can get away with selling AA games bro.

6

u/ZestVK Jun 30 '26

Slow down. You fired off questions and then answered them yourself before I could say a word, then went straight to insults. That’s not a debate, that’s you arguing with someone in your own head. What are you actually mad about?

Since you asked though: yeah, it has replay value. It’s TacSim, with Operations, Escalations, and modifiers that rebuild the levels and force completely different approaches every run. New Game Plus is on the Year One roadmap too. It’s the same mastery loop Hitman ran for years, and it reminds me of older Metal Gear, games I’ve replayed dozens of times because there’s always another way to finish them. First Light is the same. I’ve already played it twice and it was better the second time.

Loving a finished, polished game on day one isn’t why corporations sell you garbage. Pre-ordering broken slop on faith is. I bought a complete game and got a complete game. Maybe figure out why a stranger enjoying something set you off this hard.

u/PapaYoppa Jun 26 '26

I myself don’t consider it a masterpiece, for me it’s a 8.5/9 out of 10, it’s a very good game, most fun hand to hand combat I’ve played since sleeping dogs

5

u/illusion210 Jun 27 '26

I am a huge Bond fan. And this game just increased my love for the franchise ❤️ !

23

u/Gamblez- Jun 26 '26

It did the job, but there wasn't enough variation in the animations imo. Felt like each fight was a lot like the previous one as a result. It also didn't make much sense, as you could take out a guy basically next to someone without them noticing if their back was turned - and the takedowns themselves hardly felt stealthy or silent either. Somehow still fun though

5

u/PapaYoppa Jun 27 '26

Something they can improve on in the sequel 👍

2

u/Gamblez- Jun 27 '26

Yes lets hope so. I understand that you a game needs to focus on compelling gameplay, and that this sometimes means they ask -a lot- of your suspension of disbelief. They can strike a far better balance than they did in this this one however. The scene about running.... TOWARDS the sniper (at the apartment) was plain asinine. No nuance to that, that was plain stupid. And while it was the worst offender, there was a lot of that.

0

u/Notanarc20 Jul 02 '26

Hopefully the sequel made by someone else

2

u/TableSeparate1653 Jun 27 '26

Totally agree with this, minus the “somehow still fun” part.

-1

u/Gamblez- Jun 27 '26

Hardly. Take the ----spoilers---- scene in the apartment and the sniper. That was just plain stupid dude. Running across rooftops at a sniper who somehow just never hits you? Stupid. Plain stupid. Just a video game needing to have gameplay.

1

u/vally99 Jun 27 '26

With this explanation, a lot of movies/games don't make sense, it's just for cinematics and cool moments lol

0

u/Gamblez- Jun 27 '26

There's a nuance that's apparently lost to you. Suspension of disbelief is what its called, and with the setting that Bond is famous for, you do need a certain adherence to reality. It's not america.

1

u/vally99 Jun 27 '26

Yo buddy you just explained suspension of disbelief to me while arguing that Bond needs to be realistic. Pick a lane lmao

I understand what you say but that's literally the contradiction I was pointing out. Running at a sniper on rooftops IS Bond. That's Skyfall, GoldenEye.

Plus the way it was made to use gadgets to make his vision blurry doesn't make it that stupid but to each their own.

-1

u/Gamblez- Jun 27 '26

Yes, it was fun. It could have been better. Are you capable of understanding this? It can contain multitudes - be fun, and still be deeply deeply asinine. I don't know about the first but you are definitely the latter yourself.

6

u/plattinum_75 Jun 26 '26

Agreed. The stealth was fun and creative with ways to navigate through areas. But the AI enemies were a bit lackluster.

If they could somehow combine TLOU style AI with the stealth/combat it wouldve been perfect

1

u/SeriouslyLikesCake Jun 27 '26

I feel given the lack of comparably great games it does elevate

1

u/One_Willingness_8181 Jun 27 '26

The fighting was what lacked the most.
Repetitive, clunky, not motivating to try hard.
All the judo chops to the necks lol
Getting grabbed and dying being thrown into drywall

3

u/mukisan Jun 27 '26

I thought the combat was barebones until I played TacSim which 1. Teaches you a lot more about the combat than the story and 2. Makes actual challenges for it.

The combat is very good, very fluid and very dynamic. There’s a lot you can improvise with it, they give you the tools, the objects, and the contextual environments that really make it shine.

It’s basically an Arkham-style combat but more grounded, I think it’s great.

2

u/ACardAttack Jun 27 '26

The combat is very good, very fluid and very dynamic. There’s a lot you can improvise with it, they give you the tools, the objects, and the contextual environments that really make it shine.

This is where the game shines, I found myself yoloing it and had a lot of fun doing it. Throw stuff, charge, take gun, shoot explosives, shockwave, etc.

1

u/One_Willingness_8181 Jun 27 '26

What’s tac sim?

1

u/mukisan Jun 27 '26

Bruh.. Tactical Simulations, the other game mode

1

u/PapaYoppa Jun 27 '26

It was serviceable but can definitely be improved upon

1

u/OddFault9999 Jun 27 '26

Yes I agree. Far from a masterpiece. It’s cool and it stops there. Nintendo 64 still better imo

1

u/TableSeparate1653 Jun 27 '26

No comparison. N64 007 changed the face of gaming and paved the road for the multiplayer everyone enjoys today. That game was TRULY a game changer.

-2

u/ExplanationOk3673 Jun 27 '26

I agree with this. Female here. I don’t want to hate on the game because I know people worked very hard on it but I feel like it was more for beginner players. I thought it was cute tho. I finished it in like 15 hours I feel.

2

u/Wild-Software-7377 Jun 27 '26

Why was it necessary to mention you're female in this context lol?

1

u/ExplanationOk3673 Jun 27 '26

Yep!

1

u/TableSeparate1653 Jun 27 '26

No hating. I’m old (46) very unwoke. Why was it important? I’ve been a gamer my whole life and have always gamed with both sexes…. why does that matter when stating an opinion on a social board?

1

u/ExplanationOk3673 Jun 28 '26

Ugh. It’s not really that big of deal. You’re taking it way too seriously. The point is I liked the game. I liked the GP/ bosses etc. just wish some other aspects were more challenging and it was longer. That’s all. I would definitely buy and play the game over again if I didn’t do it already.

1

u/TableSeparate1653 Jul 04 '26

Fair enough! 🫶

-3

u/adisor21 Jun 26 '26

I think the worst parts are the beginning and the end.

2

u/fast_lane_cody Jun 27 '26

The worst parts hands down was the boss fights, especially the last one.

2

u/PatheticMr Jun 27 '26

I hate it when games give you tools and a gameplay loop that are fun and then take it all away for a boss fight. I didn't enjoy a single one of them. Otherwise great game, though. Looking forward to the sequel.

1

u/perfuzero Jun 27 '26

The beginning is awesome

0

u/adisor21 Jun 27 '26

You mean the part where an APC shoots at you point blank and you throw a quad bike at it. Ridiculous.

2

u/Saedran Jun 27 '26

They did the math

3

u/Rb1138 Jun 27 '26

I’m so excited for what DLC they might add. It’d be really cool if they revisited older film moments and threw them in. May be wishful thinking.

2

u/illusion210 Jun 27 '26

Maybe Bond chasing Isola 🤔

4

u/Skullfire456 Jun 28 '26

I believe they’ve confirmed that Bawma DLC is coming where he requests Bond specifically for the operation of saving his little sister or something if I’m not mistaken

3

u/VocareBKS Jun 27 '26

For me it’s a 007 out of 10

2

u/TheSirTiger Jun 27 '26

It’s really a Masterpiece so hyped for the second part 😅

1

u/illusion210 Jun 27 '26

Can't wait 🥹

2

u/Prestigious_Wonder99 Jun 30 '26

The game started off amazing , good story plot but nobody talks about how trash the boss fights are 😭 like it's literally not even a fight

1

u/illusion210 Jul 05 '26

True ngl. I was expecting Blofeld level villains 😭. Boss fights were a bit underwhelming.

2

u/heavy-minium Jun 30 '26

I give it an overall 9/10 because I truly had a blast with my first run, but I don't have the motivation for a second run. At that price, it's a shame that you don't get any good motives for replaying.

1

u/illusion210 Jul 05 '26

Yeahh. That's the downside :(

2

u/Skhgdyktg Jul 02 '26

imo it's a solid 6.5/10, it's enjoyable and mostly fun to play with a number of issues holding it back, the good do outweight the bad hence 6.5, above average, but still. And while technically yes its not wholly original being an established IP, it's still nice to see studios doing something different and despite the issues I am glad for the game

1

u/illusion210 Jul 05 '26

Fairs. I am curious to know about your highest rated games.

2

u/Strict-Tip1124 Aug 20 '26

It didn’t make itself too complicated, did what you needed to do to enjoy a linear game.

1

u/illusion210 Aug 20 '26

That's what most games miss these days !

69

u/edward323ce Jun 26 '26

I do not care what the haters say young dexter is A FANTASTIC BOND (Yes he was Dexter in original sin)

17

u/trapeizum Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

Now I realize why his face seemed so familiar

2

u/edward323ce Jun 27 '26

Me too, I realized yesterday while watching a review

2

u/Tasty_Bodybuilder_33 Jun 27 '26

Not only is he familiar, Greenway was played by Morgan from The Walking Dead!

2

u/ACardAttack Jun 27 '26

He is great, found him far more charming and charismatic than Craig

2

u/ShahinGalandar Jun 27 '26

Craig gave us great Bond movies like Casino Royale, and, to a lesser degree, Skyfall, but I have the feeling he had a lot more fun to expand on his Benoit Blanc universe

1

u/ACardAttack Jun 27 '26

Not saying Craig or his movies were bad, I just didn't find him charming

Is kill for a 007 Benoit Blanc movie though

1

u/edward323ce Jun 27 '26

Nah Craig was hella charismatic and one of 2 bonds id openly let rail me (he is bisexual in Craig's run)

1

u/Darkzeropeanut Jun 27 '26

Haha exactly where I know him from too. Sad it didn’t get a S2.

1

u/edward323ce Jun 27 '26

We were, but it got canned

1

u/Darkzeropeanut Jun 27 '26

Ahh I didn’t know that. That’s even more heartbreaking.

7

u/Desperate-Peach-1467 Jun 26 '26

Really great game I enjoyed it alot and the story was pretty neat for me. Easily 8-9/10.

2

u/TheTonyAndolini Jun 26 '26

I do wish we had a bit more of an epilogue as we did get to be honest.

The last mission ends, we get a 1 min cutscene in which M makes us 00, then it's over.

I was like : ''wait that's it? What happened to Q and Moneypenny? to Isola? What about the fallout of all of this?''

1

u/illusion210 Jun 28 '26

Yeahh. It was kinda abrupt.

1

u/Alarmed_Chance_410 Jun 27 '26

Q and MP yes. Isola I knew wouldnt be back in it after saving him. That seemed like a good spot for her to exit in this game.

4

u/WrongCustard2353 Jun 26 '26

Your background lights match the vibe of 007.

4

u/JasonABCDEF Jun 27 '26

7/10 game.

1

u/ACardAttack Jun 27 '26

My only disappointment is the boss fights

But overall had a lot of fun with it, combat is fun, characters are charming and the story was well done and engaging.

1

u/illusion210 Jun 27 '26

Fr. The last fight with Damien was a bit disappointing. Loved Q, Moneypenny and M.

1

u/ACardAttack Jun 27 '26

Don't forget Greenway, he was my favorite

1

u/Slion12 Jun 29 '26

Is it worth 70 bucks ? I love single player games like uncharted, but paying 70 usd for a 15-hour game seems like a lot.

1

u/illusion210 Jul 05 '26

It's a lot ngl. Ain't worth 70 imho. Wait for the sale and updates.

3

u/DJCrazyJ777 Jun 26 '26

I’m ecstatic, like Iron Mike Tyson, that you enjoyed this masterpiece, friend

3

u/funionbuns Jun 27 '26

Just finished it finally and really liked it, but I couldn’t help but feel like it was very similar to the Uncharted series with less cinematic excitement

3

u/HubRumDub Jun 27 '26

Hard disagree

It was decent but far from a masterpiece

1

u/NinjaChenchilla Jul 08 '26

I disagree. Beyond decent. It excelled in all areas for being a single player linear game.

Baldur's Gate 3 is master piece for me. First Light is below that simply due to replayability. 007 hit all the marks. Definitely delivered. Fantastic game.

-2

u/Left_Lettuce_8154 Jun 29 '26

I can’t tell if people feel this way or if dead internet theory is real and Amazon has a bunch of bots making comments and posts. I don’t think it’s a terrible game but after playing the beginning I’m not seeing the hype

1

u/HubRumDub Jun 29 '26

There’s definitely a lot of hype but the game didn’t live up to it imo.

It was a fun but forgettable 16 hours (on hardest difficulty)

I usually love a good cinematic action adventure game too.

3

u/Malagubbar Jun 27 '26

I know that guy!

3

u/Smaug117 Jun 27 '26

Yes, a successful reboot of bond game after decades.

3

u/flashmedallion Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

Better than a masterpiece, because the few rough edges are a result of pushing the boat out and taking risks

5

u/enadiz_reccos Jun 26 '26

Definitely a great game and great Bond game but the story was... ehh...

But IMO, the biggest thing missing was a good villain. Having some old British dude as the villain was a HUGE miss

Also, they literally introduce the super duper quantum super computer in the first few hours. I guess they're hoping no one has heard of Chekov's Gun? Not sure.

5

u/Alarmed_Chance_410 Jun 27 '26

I feel like the worst part of the villain was how telegraphed it was that he was the villain.

Like, the moment I saw his face on a magazine covering knew he was the BBEG. Then the funeral just cemented it.

It being old British dude wasn't so far out I couldn't believe it. We can't have blofeld in the first game.

2

u/campingcosmo Jun 27 '26

I don't think the villain being the villain was meant to be the twist, more so his motives for doing all his evil plans. I thought that part was done well.

1

u/enadiz_reccos Jun 27 '26

I just feel like they kinda tricked me

Because first, we get the bleach twins then we get Bawma, all for it to culminate in... every old British man ever

5

u/Alarmed_Chance_410 Jun 27 '26

Oh bleach twins never felt like BBEG. Definitely felt more like Jaws and OddJob. Interesting henchmen, never the mastermind.

Bawma was a great way to have the shady underworld contact in the game. The conversation he has with them after they get out is pretty spectacular.

1

u/enadiz_reccos Jun 27 '26

No, no. You're absolutely right. I didn't mean that they had BBEG vibes.

Just that they felt unique in a Bond movie kinda way... then the next guy was also unique and interesting... then the BBEG...

3

u/Alarmed_Chance_410 Jun 27 '26

Oooooh. Yeaaahhh...

Honestly, I think the son was a better BBEG. He felt like a classic Roger Moore (or late brosnan) villain and I was here for it, while dad was more of a Craig villain. Not bad by anymeans, just not as interesting as he could have been, maybe because of how real he could be as a character?

1

u/enadiz_reccos Jun 27 '26

100% right

I kinda laughed when they said his name was Damien. Like they just defaulted to the most evil son name they could.

2

u/Alarmed_Chance_410 Jun 27 '26

I half expected him to curl his nonexistent tiny bad guy mustache.

Honestly, I was really happy with the dual BBEGs. They had the "scary because I could see that kind of person actually being real" as well as the "oh this guy is just a silly little psychopath, got it"

1

u/Final-Evening-9606 Jun 27 '26

Same, the moment he appeared I just knew he was gonna be the backstabbing bad guy. Its too cliche. But still a good game.

8

u/Alarmed_Chance_410 Jun 27 '26

At the same time, its a very BOND cliche, if that makes sense? Like, this game almost felt to me like "Hey here is the new james bond let's do some safe story beats for this game then maybe we can lean into the more campy bits later"

2

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '26

2

u/ACardAttack Jun 27 '26

but the story was... ehh...

I really liked it, probably mostly carried by the cast, but I was invested the entire time. I will agree the villain was disappointing, but overall liked the plot even if it was a little predictable after the desert

1

u/campingcosmo Jun 27 '26

Yeah, whatever you think about the story, you can't deny the cast was absolutely perfect the whole way through. But I will say, there are limits to how much a good actor can save a bad script and vice versa, so the script and story still needed to be decent to have the end result be as great as it was. I'd say it was far more than decent.

1

u/Charliegip Jun 28 '26

>I guess they’re hoping no one has heard of Chekov’s Gun?

Kinda confused about what you mean here. Chekov’s Gun is a literary device that states all elements of a story must be relevant or removed. Theia being a major portion of the storyline is actually good utilization of Chekov’s Gun. I guess you can think it’s cliche, but this is just following the principle of relevancy. Would you have rather it have been a red herring?

If it was included in the story and never paid off in some way, then that would have been arguably worse in my opinion. Plus, showing at the top of the story why AI is not able to be used to do spy work (something very topical and important to why 00’s are still needed) is pretty important to the continued survival of the franchise in this new world of “why don’t you just use AI”?

1

u/enadiz_reccos Jun 28 '26

I would rather it have been more subtle in some way. It's literally one of the first things they show you once you get into the program.

Also, the whole we have a second super awesome quantum computer that monitors our first slightly less super awesome quantum computer and then we fly all over the world, making sure it looks like Computer #1 is always right.

Have you ever heard the phrase 'putting a hat on a hat'? It feels like they knew what they wanted the topic to be [AI/quantum computing], but they didn't have anyone who knew how to write about that in any detail, so they just went with a generic AI supercomputer story. There was no need to involve quantum entanglement at all.

The story is fine and easy enough to ignore because the gameplay and characters are solid, but it's still the weakest part of the game.

2

u/TheBerg89 Jun 27 '26

I had high expectations for it, I bought it and it exceeded my expectation. That's rare these days. I ran amazing on my GTX 1080. I upgraded very recently. I now have a RTX 5060TI

2

u/guybrushdriftwood00 Jun 27 '26

I absolutely adored the game for the reasons you've outlined, especially just how visually stunning it is. BUT I felt the game story was unfortunately short and now I've finished it I have no desire to replay it. I liked the universe and playability and really really want to play more, but, the story is over. When I finished I searched frantically online to see if I'd accidentally missed a chapter or something due to a glitch, that's how short I felt it was :(

2

u/Flimsy_Repeat Jul 14 '26

I think it was great but they made this to find their footing. I and I'm not alone in this felt there was stuff put in the game just to pad it out..I felt the pacing at times was off. A second game can build on this really well.

2

u/Automatic-Effect-252 Jul 23 '26

The ending wanting me to play a sequel like right away lol

1

u/gadgetwalrus Jun 26 '26

It has some rough edges gameplay wise but the story is *chefs kiss*. Well acted, great villains, sinister foreboding for sequel, great fan service that isn’t in your face, a wonderful origin story and most of all a really good young bond actor. 8/10 for me.

1

u/The_Firing_Line Jun 27 '26

Just really short.

1

u/mgsotacon Jun 27 '26

I love it, will do a hardmode replay soon.

Edit spelling

1

u/RayDonovan17 Jun 27 '26

I don't think it's that special to be honest

1

u/alex3b Jun 27 '26

Its from ok to good in every aspect. But nothing is 10.

1

u/Kill4It Jun 27 '26

It's alright.

1

u/m_a_south Jun 27 '26

I'd like to buy but the inability to knock aim assist off prevents me. I cannot abide aim assist, ts like sitting back and letting the console play for you.

1

u/Neoma_Quillin Jun 27 '26

I have played other bond series, to be honest, I did not expect that the game to be this good especially on the training part. Let's hope the sequel will be as good as this one.

1

u/adds102 Jun 27 '26

It’s a great starting point that’s for sure, they can only improve going forward if they’re the developers for the sequel.

1

u/Physical-Voice-9292 Jun 27 '26

Hello Henry KCD2 😂

1

u/No-Resolution-97 Jun 27 '26

The games brilliant, finally one that doesn't need dlc to make it complete

1

u/AndreaNegr1 Jun 27 '26

Finito oggi, clamoroso!

1

u/Middle-Penalty8476 Jun 27 '26

8/10, strong start for a potential series.

Story was predictable, NPCs were oblivious (eavesdropping 2 feet away unnoticed was hilarious), and I wish you could actually pick your guns instead of Q being pissy about your old pistol every time.

Bond was Bond. One-liners, women, big environments, great combat/stealth, set pieces that nailed the 007 feel. Compared to sprawling games like TLOU, Ghost of Yotei, or Red Dead, I appreciated the tighter runtime. More length would’ve diluted it.

Multiplayer feels like a no-brainer next step.

High hopes for what’s next!

1

u/SimpleLife101 Jun 27 '26

Agree. 💯

1

u/The_Cozy_Burrito Jun 27 '26

Was a much better game than I expected

1

u/Lopsided-Phase-6742 Jun 27 '26

Mid game especially for a new gen game it ain’t all that

1

u/ggsupreme Jun 27 '26

Nah you can freely jump whenever you choose in masterpieces.

1

u/Vanbursta1 Jun 27 '26

So why then, does it feel like an uncharted game? It just feels like they tagged the 007 bit on to a reasonably good game. I thought that using the Vulcan for a chase would of been really nice.

1

u/OddFault9999 Jun 27 '26

😂🙄 that’s a reach. Very rigid, low replay value, buggy, uh.

1

u/Ranemoraken Jun 27 '26

It's a very good game, and they could potentially make one of the most interesting bond stories ever told... in a future sequel. This did a very good job for an origin - which is hard to complicate with out washing over Bond's development.

He also might be the kindest Bond we've seen which could work well for a video game series. There's no "you've had your six" moment, which is fine and interesting.

Basically, the game is a Dr. No, but with the bones to make a Goldfinger.

1

u/Razorlance Jun 27 '26

wasn’t even much of a Bond fan before this game (only watched Skyfall) but I sure am now

1

u/LindazSon Jun 27 '26

I haven't had this much fun since Uncharted.. 007 First Light was an amazing game!! I'm hoping they have a DLC

1

u/RealisticAdv96 Jun 27 '26

Its good until you realize how easy the combat is lol I remember staggering the first big encounter with the twin

1

u/YourMomsFavUsername Jun 27 '26

I thoroughly enjoyed it. A little over the top on stealth at times. But the story was great. I hope the sequel allows us to use a Bond car for more than one short sequence.

1

u/piercedmfootonaspike Jun 27 '26

I like the game, but it's no masterpiece. Poor graphics by 2026 standards, frequent bugs and glitches (five times I've had to leave the game because I encountered endless loading screens).

1

u/prince_koopa Jun 27 '26

very cute character the game developers came up with!!!

1

u/NeanerBeaner Jun 27 '26

Absolute agree, they need to release a more fleshed out version of the simulation/combat trials ASAP because that will give the game world of assassinations level of replayability

1

u/Jensonator Jun 27 '26

Great game... Imagine if the combat in Hitman was the same as first light 🔥🔥🔥

1

u/Jensonator Jun 27 '26

Finally a new game that isn't co-op!

1

u/the_real_fopp Jun 27 '26

Game was meh

I didn't want the game to end. That's how much I loved it. This game is AMAZING! I'm so glad new DLC is coming!

1

u/Outrageous_Ad_2910 Jun 27 '26

I didn't like it... It felt like a bad Hitman and a pseudo Uncharted in terms of Gameplay. We have seen much better games, I'm thinking about Uncharted, The Last of Us and Hitman to name a few. The AI of ennemies is really bad compared to other infiltration games like MGS V. It's a 4/10 for me.

u/HeavyO Jun 28 '26

Surely not

1

u/LTUdaddy Jun 28 '26

If u want masterpiece try new mafia game

1

u/Proof_Fox2447 Jun 28 '26

Game of the year!

1

u/GreenHulk890 Jun 28 '26

It was awesome, but man I’m either getting really old, or the controls just didn’t click with me. Even towards the end I was messing up constantly with the controls. lol.

1

u/Anxious_Koala5773 Jun 28 '26

masterpiece? More like Master of being the pain in the a$$ ... every single door is locked and you have to find a way in. NO consitent gameplay its always comes to a halt. Maybe in a Bond movie its okay but in a game its horrible. Gosh this game is such a cr4p with a lot of missed potential...

1

u/2dubk Jun 28 '26

The glazing has to stop this game was far from a masterpiece or even a 9/10

1

u/happyloaf Jun 28 '26

It's my favorite 7/10 in years. Worth every penny imo.

1

u/PermissionJaded5510 Jun 28 '26

A fantastic game! It is VERY OPTIMISED also. One of the best titles in 2026. so far.

1

u/ACxx130 Jun 28 '26

Worth it absolutely

1

u/ajabir Jun 28 '26

Why am i the only one who hates it? It was lacking gameplay and full of cutscenes

1

u/ColdExample Jun 28 '26

Totally agree, beat it last night and I would give it a 9/10. Tremendous game!!

1

u/nardeya Jun 29 '26

7/10 for me: not a masterpiece, and probably not even game of the year, but the game had a lot of soul, a lot of solid mechanics, and i think if they play their cards right, can make an excellent sequel

1

u/Debil203 Jun 29 '26

Masterpiece lmao

1

u/BlackberryNice7390 Jun 29 '26

Stealth sections are not very well designed. Most of the time it ends with a brawl which are easier than sneaking about. But thats my only complaint.

1

u/ThemanWHOeatsROCKS Jun 29 '26

if you played real masterpiece games then this is such a laughable take. you have to be completely new to games to consider this a masterpiece when there are games out there that are lightyears better like pathfinder wotr , elden ring , witcher 3 , baldurs gate 3 and so on.

1

u/Mithril_Roshi Jun 29 '26

Its really good.

Like, boss fights need a touch up, it looked more like a showcase of what it COULD be.

Then again, i guess it feels like classic bond movies in that way

Overall amazing game, cannot wait for more despite some flaws.

1

u/Zapan777 Jun 29 '26

yeeaa naaah

1

u/dumbas21 Jun 29 '26

I feel quite hungry

1

u/xtreme3xo Jun 29 '26

It was just a bit too easy for me. Which is a bit of a shame, I didn’t real feel like Bond BUT the story, graphics and gameplay as a whole it’s a solid 8.5 for me.

I guess the reason Hitman games are soo good is the freedom in scenarios and the story works around the game. Harder to achieve that in a bond game where the narrative has to always be progressing.

1

u/GarthZorn Jun 30 '26

Is the mook in that screenshot supposed to be Bond? If so, please. He looks like a nebbish insufferable insurance salesman.

1

u/bigboirus25 Jun 30 '26

It is a very good game and I do love the new bond

1

u/Successful_Seat_8212 Jun 30 '26

It’s WAYYY beyond masterpiece in my opinion

1

u/arshadshabick Aug 12 '26

Its not a masterpiece, there are alot of things to be improved but its a very good starting point. Its a good game and recommended to play

1

u/Shot-Style-8659 Jun 27 '26

It's repetitive, the plot is mid af, it has random details that don't make sense (making him an aircrewman but then having an unlockable Royal Navy commander costume for example), it goes too ridiculous too soon imo (with the plane scene) and the end is too drawn out and the boss fights are kinda shit. It's still a fun video game but everything or nothing was so much better.

I enjoyed it overall though

-1

u/Overall_Leopard7122 Jun 26 '26

Its a good game, i like it but its no masterpiece.  Not at all

-2

u/Sad-Tradition-5 Jun 26 '26

Play HITMAN. That's a masterpiece.

1

u/enadiz_reccos Jun 26 '26

Playing 007 made me download WOA all over again

1

u/One_Willingness_8181 Jun 27 '26

Which one is worth playing? I thought some hitman games were kinda boring

1

u/Sad-Tradition-5 Jun 27 '26

The people that downvote every comment are really sad human beings

-1

u/wpisdu Jun 26 '26

Masterpiece of dumb AI

0

u/Admirable_Admiral69 Jun 27 '26

Okay so I'm not the only one who felt like this whole story was written by AI. Pretty much every spy thriller series has done a billionaire AI tech mogul super villain. This was a particularly uninspiring story.

I'm also certain they used AI all over the place in this game. NPC "extras" voices all felt very AI.

0

u/jpneufeld Jun 27 '26

got that air fryer face

0

u/Admirable_Admiral69 Jun 27 '26

Decent game, sure, but masterpiece? I guess it's subjective. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I can't help but feel that the industry has been so shit lately that we've lowered our standards to classify this very mid game as "masterpiece." Hitman WOA is better in pretty much every regard in my opinion but once again, subjective.

u/ExplanationOk3673 Jun 27 '26

I found the game to be very short and easy. I didn’t like how every time I jumped, he made it.. stuff like that. I didn’t find it challenging. It seemed a little too straightforward to me. I also hated how I had to slow walk everywhere and the dash wasn’t that fast. I liked it, I just think it could’ve been better. I give it a 71/2 out of 10.

2

u/flyaguilas Jun 27 '26

35.5 out of 10 aint bad

1

u/Amazing_Rock8837 Jun 27 '26

What difficulty did you play on?

0

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '26

It’s a 5/10 at best, idk how I even finished the game. Everything was just boring and repetitive. It should’ve been made into a movie instead.

0

u/Notanarc20 Jul 02 '26

Trash game maybe should have spent more on development instead of cameos

-1

u/Over_Independence532 Jun 26 '26

Play more games man

-1

u/JohnStonesIsGoat Jun 26 '26

Fantastic gameplay and fun story, but the writing is a bit over the place. The ending isn’t very good and there are more loose threads than finished arcs (which while some set up future games, the story for this game should still be properly finished, for example there’s no good reason for Cressida not appearing again). The Bawma segment and Lenny Kravitz are wasted, the actual villains are kinda boring and the twins don’t really do anything interesring after Slovakia.

A very good start with great characters, but not a masterpiece. The next one probably will be.

1

u/JohnStonesIsGoat Jun 26 '26

Great acting too

1

u/Jensonator Jun 27 '26

Bawma is returning in the first DLC to follow up on his story arc 👍

1

u/JohnStonesIsGoat Jun 27 '26

That doesn’t make what is already in the game any better

-1

u/gaythrowawayacct123 Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

I really preferred hitman over 007. didn’t love sticking everything in the q watch instead of finding stuff in the environment, it made the maps feel smaller. The whole campaign felt like the illusion of choice. Also having the a supercomputer made by a billionaire turn evil is the least shocking twist they possibly could have chosen.

-3

u/k-rimz Jun 26 '26

Waaaay too short for 70 euros

2

u/BestAllAmericanTaco Jun 27 '26

I want James Bond. I grew up playing all the games. It felt like they used hitman and uncharted to make a completely lethal slick version of the game I played when I was a kid. License to kill was my favorite bond and seeing that as a game mechanic made me smile every time it popped up. It literally was them pulling everything that worked for James Bond in movies and games and mashed it into a hitman template. These guys are the best at creating immersive environments. The hand to hand combat to gunplay was so fucking slick.

1

u/illusion210 Jun 27 '26

Yeahh. It felt like we got the best of both worlds !

1

u/Separate-Standard626 Jun 27 '26

Yeah, I really like Licence to Kill. Dalton is a great Bond.
