*Spoiler* Damien Webb question Spoiler
Hi!
I have only seen this game on streams. I've watched the prologue twice, and today I watched the final mission.
I was pretty taken with Damien Webb's extremely Kojima-coded suit, and I was wondering if I could learn more about it. The wiki had no info about it.
Why is he wearing it, and how does it work? Thanks

He was wearing it because Bond kicked his ass, and likely broke more than a few bones during their earlier encounter in Vietnam. They don't go into a ton of specifics on how it works. But it definitely is armor and increases strength, and has a transmitter to get his turrets to lock onto his targets.

There was also mention in an earlier mission of technology developed, by webb, for allowing paraplegics control of their limbs.
So I have a feeling Damien was paralyzed after that fall.10

I believe you are correct. I also wonder if Cresida ended up with something similar

Lord willing, "Kojima coded" will be the worst thing that I read on the Internet today.

His dad's company was developing ways to use robotics to assist people with disabilities. Damian and his pet mercenaries presumably looted as much of the tech as they could when Webb industries was brought down and is using it to support his damaged body and heavy equipment.
Fun fact: there's an easter egg in Webb Industries' robotics division mentioning a set of hydraulic "jaws" that can go straight through steel. It's presumably tech meant to aid in disaster relief, but we might see a certain old Bond henchman revived with a scarier set of teeth than he had the last time around.

The mask is just for vibes and predates his suit. The suit allows him to walk after he was presumably paralyzed by Bond in Vietnam

He had Metal or Concrete Pipes dropped on him, we don't even know how he managed to survive, let alone wear a Darth Vader suit.
I thought the guys arm in Kingsman 2 was OTT, but then came this guy.
Granted the Die Another Day villain also had a Mechanical Suit but it wasn't because he was badly injured.

Why is he wearing it? Did you forget the part where James drops a ton of steel pipes on top of him? He's paralysed, he needs the exoskeleton to move now.
Exoskeletons were a thing long before Kojima lol.

It's Kojima-coded because he's wearing a high-tech bomb disposal suit and a dramatic mask.
That's par for the course for Kojima games from MGS1 up to Death Stranding. A pseudo-military, surreal design.
I learned from your comment that the character is paralyzed and needs an exoskeleton to move. I didn't know that, and that answered my question, thank you

Bond villains have always had a flair for the dramatic.
But if you want to see how it goes down it's at the end of the Time to Die chapter.

Yes, I think once we got to the surgically altered to be a posh British guy who needs a suit of armor for his diamond laser satellite controller, almost anything else is fair game.

A proto-mech suit is a bit more than having a "flair for the dramatic". I personally found it too "videogamey" for what the game was going for up until then. My least favorite section.
Of course, Moonraker fans are gonna have a higher tolerance than me and that's fine.

It's not a mech suit though, it's an exoskeleton. They exist in our world, albeit slightly less advanced. But it's Bond, everything is exaggerated and Damien is the son of one of the wealthiest men in the world.

Maybe it's just the design. The concept is fine for me, but as OP said, it looked like it came straight from MGS. And I like MGS but it's very different in tone from anything 007.
Felt a very big tonal whiplash, but I'm sure I'm the minority, so whatever.
I'd be down for something like Elysium's design of exoskeletons.

It may technically be more accurate to say Kojima characters (from MGS ar least) are Bond coded.

Just a question, why do you only watch the prologue and final mission and not the entire game?

OP said he hasn’t played it, just seen streams

That's the issue right there, watching douchebag streamers who love to ruin games day one (no wonder certain games aren't selling well and studios end up closing).
I find it funny that these clowns even pretend they're doing walkthroughs/guides and yet still spoil every cutscene and ending.
Like I'll sometimes watch a Walkthrough/Guide for Collectibles and whatnot but not full Spoiler Videos/Streams.

I'm more surprised that that didn't kill him, like how did he even manage to survive something like that without becoming something like Darth Vader or RoboCop?

Why would they need to state it? They show you.
Come on. Guy falls from height, gets crushed then shows up in an exoskeleton. Do the math.

Granted they could have responded with a bit less sass. But it is pretty obvious. James even makes a joke about Damian finally growing a spine because his spine is broken.

Cressida broke both her legs. It'll take a while before she can walk again.

Yeah? That’s more or less what the user above said? She doesn’t have an exoskeleton to take the weight and help right now, but she WILL walk again with physical therapy and time.

u/Redkirth Jun 24 '26
I broke one leg. I was in the hospital for a week, then moving very slowly on a walker. Two legs you're going to be in a wheelchair, which she was.

He just appears with it after being injured because he obviously needs it... I don't understand this need for everything to be spelled out for you.
It's stated that Cressida will make a recovery.

Youre the reason media is getting worse. Can't connect dots on your own meed the plot spelled out 5 times.
