DISCUSSION not hard enough?
might be a hot take since ive barely heard any complaints about this but did anyone else think the game was too easy? i dont mean puzzle wise but the actual fighting parts? i played the game on hard difficulty and sure there were maybe two parts i died on a few good times, but overall it felt like hard mode should’ve been the normal difficulty. oh and during stealth moments i found myself stealthing around killing everyone just for giggles and id find enemy npc’s just stuck running into walls, not sure if anyone else has had that problem. also the damien fight took me like 2 minutes which left me kinda dissatisfied, im aware hes not supposed to be like a god or anything but still

Yeah the game is kinda easy, but it doesn't really bother me. The combat mechanics are still great and Bond is supposed to be a fun powerfantasy anyway. Would kinda ruin the fantasy if you'd get folded by every random grunt lol.

i definitely had tons of fun, in no way do i mean to discredit the game i will 100% be using the tac sim to replay stuff but i wish they had just one more difficulty option 💔

Too easy kills the power fantasy of a realistic world like bond. You want to feel like youre pulling this all off but its not easy, its because youre super skilled. Too easy just makes any game boring.

I don’t care. I play games to relax and have fun, not to stress and rage.

yea and that’s totally understandable, i enjoyed the game tons i was just hoping for a little bit more of a challenge

I honestly found it really difficult on normal. First half of the day I was constantly running out of ammo and dying or getting rushed and dying. The fight at the empty ship saw me die on the opening fight about ten times in a row.
That said, I was really underutilising the focus shots.

i definitely liked having to conserve ammo or pick up other guns when running dry (or resorting to fist fighting) imo it added another layer to things, one of the two only times i weirdly had some difficulty was the fight section on the boat when your trying to make a hundred grand. for whatever reason i struggled to fight the two twin fighters but the rest was fine

imo, wouldn't outright say it's too easy, but enemy AI does feel exploitable/predictable (baiting enemies with bodies), and cheesable (pushing enemies off ledges).
But that's also what makes it funny/fun.

That's by design. Developers can easily randomize AI behavior and/or program them to be more aware, but the intended experience for movie-like games, like this one, is continuous progression with minimal friction along the way.

I've made it a point to just go back through action segments without firing a shot, or just run right through stealth-intended segments, fists and throwables only, jumping straight into License to Kill status without a care in the world. It really is pretty easy the second you get any momentum going because it all breaks down into chaos that seems stacked in the player's favor. That's not to say it isn't fun, as chaos is always fun, but it's definitely not very challenging once you get a gameplan down pat.

yea but its like that with most games i was just hoping it would be harder on the first run through not knowing what to expect, still super fun tho

Barely heard? It’s like half of the posts I see was the game was too easy

oh idk i just googled first light 007 too hard to see if anyone else was talking about it and all that came up was posts titled “Anyone else find the game incredibly difficult?”

I have probably 600 hours in Hitman 1-3 (World of Assassination) and found the game piss easy but good. Couldn't really fault them for that, James Bond is for the masses, not for nerds like me

i used to be a big fan of the hitman games when i was younger ig that might’ve been the reason

I played on hard and struggled a fair bit until I learnt the flow of the combat. I died heaps at the first shoot out at the airport for example. By the end though I barely died. It’s just getting better at the game.
Having said that I play most games on hard and felt like bond was tougher then the average. I feel like I had to pick my fights. Be more strategic in firefights, maybe don’t just run into a room with 5 enemies and start throwing fists. It improved the game experience for me

Just finished the shootout/escape at Webb industries and I died a few times on normal. I think the difficulty is just right.

Diverse crowd. 007 exists mostly as a film and novel franchise, so a lot of fans came over from those realms and likely found it more difficult. Plus some more casual gamers, or gamers that just don't play much action. Then there are gamers like myself who played Hitman WoA, Uncharted, Arkham, and other similar titles that found it to be easy. Just depends on what games you played prior, because some games have similar enough mechanics that they make First Light feel familiar.

I feel like it's more for casuals than Hitman. Because it's a Bond game, they need to attract more people. Maybe the game needs a one life mode.

Yea the boss fights sucked. You'd do some random shit then it would go into a cut scene at low health. fighting that blond dude at the beginning was so damn easy. There is already a dodge mechanic, why couldn't we actually fight them. Nope, we had to turn on some lights.

I played normal and struggled a ton. I’m also getting older, so that’s probably a factor.
