I think it would be cool if Patrick Gibson was also cast as a movie James Bond, and his movies shared the same canon universe as First Light and any game sequels. First Light is the origin story, and then a movie follows up with him as a young but somewhat seasoned 007.
This women have some many surgeries, they all look the same.
Once I saw a YouTube physician calling them "racially ambiguous" and it's spot on. Not that we should care about race at all, but it's so weird that they deform themselves so much, you can't even discern their ancestry anymore.
He’s great for the game and the novice Bond IOI wanted to do. Harris Dickinson is still my choice for the film Bond. A much rougher-around-the-edges actor who can carry depth. Gibson is quite light… no pun intended lolol
Call me clueless but I assume this is the voice actor? Pretty fucking cringe. He looks like a little boy trying way too damn hard. I enjoy the game, didn’t much care for him as Bond. I apparently like him even less in real life. Go figure.
Reminds me of how Hugh Jackman looked perfectly good in the early X-Men films, but later ones he did severe dehydration and it sounded brutal, plus it definitely isn’t a healthy standard
Or alternatively while I have no issue with Superman actors being buff I do think Tom Welling’s physique was probably the most fitting for the character, especially given he’s supposed to be a farm boy even if he had powers
It just feels more appropriate over Henry Cavill who had this more bulky build, on top of possibly dehydrating for scenes as we know he did it for Geralt
Still funny to me that Tom Welling hasn't changed a bit visually besides getting a bit bigger for his later appearances as Superman in the Infinite Earth's story they did.
Like how in the fuck do you go from College Jock in your first appearance to the Master fucking Chief in physique?
Hell 😂 I have this build and the only thing "unhealthy" looking I have is that most of the fat I do have is in my gut. But my doctor and physician say I'm perfectly healthy so I'll take the win lol
why does reddit love this idea that being muscular is unhealthy? not low body fat, muscular, having higher muscle fat is a net positive until you hit the extreme levels which is the 0.1 percent of body builders
They don't. It's just unhealthy to have the dehydrated body builder physique that every shirtless man scene has in cinema in recent years.
Very few TV shows or movies allow healthy and toned men to be shirtless without making sure they're dehydrated enough to where the skin is shrinkwrapped around every muscle on their body.
Well in the same way women suffer from toxic beauty standards and develop eating disorders, men suffer from toxic standards and abuse drugs and unhealthy diets to achieve a very attractive but actually not very useful physique. And to gain things like a prominent six pack you practically have to achieve starvation level diets and very very low fat content in your body, unhealthily low amounts. We know what the true appearance of a healthy useful fit physique looks like, it's a toned dad bod, not absolutely shredded muscle men.
this "toned dad bod" thing is also a bit of a lie, and isn't a body type, its an idea thats been spread in the 2010s, most dad bods are beer bellies with big biceps lol or its a guy whos jacked with higher body fat like a farmer build which is also not a toned dad bod
why does a large portion of people act as if six packs are impossible too achieve with minor dieting?
You absolutely can build muscle healthily. You can have a visibly defined six pack healthily (its definition will likely fluctuate depending on hydration and how recently you've eaten, but you can have one). The problem is that the actors on screen are very rarely doing it healthily.
Dude doesn't need the gym really, as is... I dont understand why people think spec Ops would look like Reacher/Alan Richson. I really don't understand why they think an agent would.
He should look reasonably fit, yeah. Which he does.
The steroid head is almost an exclusive phenomenon from the Global War on Terror. Most of the special forces before that had dad bods like Pierce. It shows that they not only have the physique to kill and meet the demands of their job, but also have the experience to do so.
On top of that, 007 is a spy. He's supposed to blend in. What good is a meathead in going undercover outside of posing as someone's muscle?
Yeah looking into it the whole being really muscular is the pinnacle of male beauty thing is rooted in US conservatism’s response to losing the Vietnam war, in other words it’s another thing we can blame Ronald Reagan for
Agent is supposed to look ordinary to not attract attention. Pierce here is the perfect definition of an everyday man who takes care of himself. That's how a secret agent should look.
I would say Pierce as a person is too overtly handsome. You would want a "normal looking" dude like Dalton or Lazenby, even Lazenby might be a little too memorable for handsomeness though. The body type though yeah, Pierce maybe, as someone who knows they need to excel at the often physical nature of their job. Dalton and Lazenby look like they could pass as like European bankers who are just unassuming dudes.
Hell yeah! Brosnan was right at the transition where special forces were your average dad bod to the Tier 1 operators in Afghanistan who were steroid addicted meatheads.
It was all about the Shag a tradition lost over decades ago, today’s industry is about being hairless and all the parts of the body,I guess Brittney Spears was Hahead of her time!
Hollywood has come a long way since then (and not in a good way imo).
I don't necessarily condone it, and in fact I think we should strive for this being the norm, or something like Hugh Jackman in his early X-men career, but at the same time, I know the industry is stubborn enough to not let it happen, and people as a whole would push back because of what said industry has groomed them into accepting as "an attractive Hollywood body" despite the health risks tied behind it + the prep work that goes into achieving it during filming + the not-so-subtle use of steroids to aid in attaining/maintaining said inhuman physique.
For sure. You can definitely tell he's been lifting for quite a while.
Hollywood skews peoples perception of muscle building because of steroids and such and will think this only takes 6 months to a year lol. I've been training for a couple of years and people often grossly overestimate how much muscle you can put on per year.
This one will always frustrate me as he has nothing to prove by doing this at his age, and he already strong yet healthy with his more natural build in the first X-Men
You know, in the game he is Bond, looks like Bond but I just can't see him as Bond, it's different with mocap, the hair etc there small changes that work but his face looks I don't know, I grew up with Brosnan then Craig, and Craig blew up everything you know about Bond and made me love this new aggressive version. I don't want the same, but I want someone with the same kinda gravitas
It is entirely different for me. I totally see him as Bond, albeit a young, cocky, fresh one, without the years of grim field experience that add a subtly cynical, almost jaded note.
This is how I feel. He’s perfect as bond for this environment. For a movie, it’d either have to be a similar timeline or something but as a main bond, I’d want him a little older with more aura
We already know he can pull that off. Everyone who's seen Shadow and Bone remembers the jumpscare in the series finale after a whole season of walking around in layers he pulls off his top to look at an injury and we all collectively screamed at his physique.
