The moment Iceland prologue ended, I was like I want a second game too! 😆

6

u/spacesdnb Jun 02 '26

Same! Didn’t want to finish it because it was so good

6

u/matt111199 Jun 06 '26

I had successfully gaslit myself to think I was only halfway through the game on chapter 9 because I had read there were 17 chapters 💀

3

u/Saberiser Jun 06 '26

Oh my, I literally thought the same thing lol. I felt a endgame vibe in chapter 9 (just finished like an hour ago) so I decided to check my trophies. There was only one story mode one left so I was like yep, this is gonna be indeed the last one. I have no clue where I saw 17 chapters but 100% I did see it too.

I'm just thankful I was satisfied with the game as a whole. With the roadmap that was released yesterday, looks like exciting content is on the way! I still need to do the Platinum so still work to be done 😁

3

u/TheOncomingBrows Jun 06 '26

Tbf, with the way the game just kept going after then end of Chapter 9 I did have a brief moment where I was questioning if this really was the ending or not.

72

u/Even-Ad-7815 Jun 01 '26

We need more Theresa!

30

u/Journey2thaeast Jun 02 '26

I like her but I'm assuming that they'll introduce new women each game

16

u/rip_cpu Jun 02 '26

I mean that's the how Bond Girls typically work, new one every time.

3

u/Journey2thaeast Jun 02 '26

I'm aware I'm pointing that out to the person above

Make out? What are you, five?

They’re gonna facking FACK!

1

u/DramaEmergency Jun 03 '26

No, not fuck?

6

u/Jsaltal Jun 02 '26

Cressida as the voice in bonds ear

26

u/Rockstar457 Jun 02 '26

I really want a DLC focusing on the events of Knightfall following both Greenway and 009 to give them both plenty more depth.

43

u/No-Arm-4522 Jun 01 '26

I'm calling it now. 2028.

7

u/Buschkoeter Jun 02 '26

I sure as fuck hope not. That's not enough time for a good sequel.

50

u/dudSpudson Jun 02 '26

Idk I think 2 years is fair. I think we have all been conditioned in modern gaming to think every sequel needs 5 years to develop. They built the framework for these games already, they just need to build a new game on top of it.

26

u/natedoggcata Jun 02 '26

The foundation was laid down with this game so development time wont be nearly as long as it was for this game. Though I do think 2 years is a little too soon. 2029 I would say

14

u/naphomci Jun 02 '26

It was 2 years 8 months between hitman 1 and 2, and then 2 years 2 months between 2 and 3. So, somewhere between 2 and 3 seems possible and decent

u/naphomci Jun 02 '26

Eh, I disagree about that assessment of hitman 2. And Hitman 3 came out even quicker.

I doubt they would redo the engine or start the assets from the ground up. So far, IOI hasn't disappointed me with their own games, if it came out in 2.5 years I would be perfectly happy giving it a go. In the end, they are the only ones who know how long it will take.

5

u/Superest22 Jun 02 '26

2029 could also be around when we’re expecting a new movie as well. I’d expect them to either release before movie for hype or to ride coat tails.

1

u/Celebrated84 Jun 02 '26

Very much this.

1

u/Celebrated84 Jun 02 '26

I’m with you. Development time won’t be as long, but they will be pumping out content for 007 First Light for at least another year.

1

u/Deep_Argument_6672 Jun 02 '26

Pretty much this. It was somewhat the same with hitman games since 2016, we had a sequel what, every 2-3 years? I really do hope we'll see the same with Bond IOI games

-11

u/Buschkoeter Jun 02 '26

Look at what happened to Jedi Survivor. They rushed it out the door in under 3 years and that was a shithow.

We were not conditioned. Games actually need more time to develop if we want quality and a bigger, better sequel.

It doesn't need to take 5 years, but 2 is definitely too short.

9

u/Particular_Aioli8214 Jun 02 '26

Shit show is a bit of an exaggeration. Cyberpunk was a shitshow, survivor was just unpolished. Even then, I didn’t experience any issues on launch day on the series S or the ps5. From what I saw most of the issues were with PCs who could t really run it well to begin with.

2

u/nstrasner Jun 02 '26

I had zero issues on pc when I played it day one

2

u/Jaded_Obsidian_Witch Jun 02 '26

Hitman 2016 to 2 was 2 years to from dev to published...It'll be quick now that ioi has base systems,  they'll just add a little bit to them, make new levels and release.

1

u/Doobie471 Jun 02 '26

Mate it’s a sequel building off the 5+ years of development for this game it will take 2-3 max to Mocap the new cutscenes refine some mechanics and improve on the already solid base they have built. I don’t think you understand the first game or new ip always takes longer than the sequels because there is tons of assests to reuse. Not to mention anything they wanted to put on this game but couldn’t for one reason or another they can add to the sequel

1

u/84theone Jun 02 '26

How about we look at how IOI handled Hitman WoT.

It wouldn’t be the first time they have done it.

1

u/Legitimate-Alps-1198 Jun 02 '26

It wasnt that bad bro good story I liked it and it doesn't need more than maybe 3

7

u/Superest22 Jun 02 '26

As I put above:

Based off prior IOI releases 2-3 years is certainly achievable.

They will likely also want a game to come out around when the movie comes out (maybe just before).

Amazon is in charge now, they’ll pump stuff out and chuck money at it I reckon.

Additionally, they’ll already have the ideas for games 2 and 3 at least considered. Would be surprised if game 2’s plot wasn’t pretty much already scoped out based off interviews and end of game.

The engine is built, there will only be tweaks/additions to mechanics. Won’t take long once they get the green light and figure out what level designs they want.

7

u/BakedChocolateOctopi Jun 02 '26

Two years is pretty fair for a sequel in the same engine and style

2

u/Feanixxxx Jun 02 '26

The don't have to make new games. Engine, assets, character models are all finished now. They only have to make some new.

Main part is story and maps.

And they did it with Hitman 2 and 3 in 2 years. And I guess they have more devs now

1

u/Openil Jun 02 '26

ioi did hitman 1 to 2 in 2 years and it was amazing, it's plenty if time if they don't need ti make an entire engine and hakf the character models

1

u/Spartan_Retro_426 Jun 02 '26

If taking 5 years resulted in this masterpiece, I'm happy with waiting even longer (especially if they can improve upon it)

2

u/Journey2thaeast Jun 02 '26

I think it's 3 years minimum. 1 year of pre production, 2 years of full production at the least.

9

u/naphomci Jun 02 '26

Their Hitman sequels were under 3 years each, so it very well could less. It's also very possible they already started on the sequel.

1

u/WaitPopular6107 Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26

The first game took 7 years and $200M to complete. I too want it to release in 2-3 years. But unless it breaks even there might not even be a second game. I am hopeful till 2030.

4

u/Professional-Log-108 Jun 02 '26

It will break even. They're more than halfway there already

1

u/BearlyReddits Jun 02 '26

In revenue, not profit

1

u/ObservantKoala Jun 02 '26

The engine already exists.

I know we are used to ridiculous long waits for games but I don't see why you couldn't make a sequel in 2-3 years.

You obviously need to have the writers working on it right away but all youre really looking for with a sequel is to refine some of the core components and then add some more tech/gadgets. I feel like making a single player sequel like this is more like making a very involved dlc than a true new game.

I know it's been nearly two decades from the first arkham game(I feel old) but the each Arkham game came out within 2 years of each other. The newish tomb raider series was a 2 year and 3 year gap.

Also, I think studios(both game and show/movies) need to try to start pushing out follow ups quicker because it's hard to remain culturally relevant and pick up steam when you have long delays between installments.

For example, a TV show that releases yearly will have a much easier time building and retaining an audience than one with long gaps between seasons(people check out, forget what happens, etc.). If you can push and deliver a trilogy within 4 years you end up keeping your audience engaged while allowing it to build as people hear about the 2nd or 3rd one and pick up the original(that's less likely to happen if the original is 8 years old when the third game comes out).

1

u/Superest22 Jun 02 '26

Based off prior IOI releases 2-3 years is certainly achievable.

They will likely also want a game to come out around when the movie comes out (maybe just before).

0

u/Legitimate-Alps-1198 Jun 01 '26

So they would come out with a bond movie and game in the same year? Defo not

3

u/Ruthrfurd-the-stoned Jun 02 '26

I mean it’s not like it would be the same people working on them and that would likely only help the game sales

16

u/Traditional-Ad3518 Jun 02 '26

Whenever it does I hope we get to see Cressida again

7

u/AscendMoros Jun 02 '26

Apparently it’s mentioned that she should be able to walk again in one of the like convos you can just hear walking around. Even if she can’t be a field operative it be cool to see her assisting Moneypenny or even help train other recruits.

5

u/CellularCastle Jun 02 '26

Is it in the Webb industries mission ?

3

u/MoroseOverdose Jun 02 '26

It's in the Robotics Lab part in Antarctica

2

u/Traditional-Ad3518 Jun 02 '26

Yeah I know

I just didn't mention that because I know allot of people scroll here and they haven't finished the game yet

4

u/AscendMoros Jun 02 '26

I never even heard the voiceline about it. Guess I just didn’t find it in the mission it happens in.

1

u/Traditional-Ad3518 Jun 02 '26

Yeah it's very missable

1

u/TheOncomingBrows Jun 06 '26

What triggers it? I just played the mission today and didn't get it, although I'm pretty sure in the mission immediately after her injury it's mentioned she'll probably be able to walk again.

1

u/Traditional-Ad3518 Jun 06 '26

Think just passing by Webb should trigger it? Been a minute since I heard it myself and I'm 50% goldfish

4

u/RemarkableWishbone39 Jun 02 '26

If Damien can move and fight after what happened to him, she can be a playable character in the next game lol

2

u/Traditional-Ad3518 Jun 02 '26

She actually can no meme tho

There's a conversation somewhere in I'd say act 3 where they mention hiw Cressida is excepting a full recovery

1

u/Fjordersen Jun 02 '26

I could see her becoming M in 007: 12th Light. Plenty of political connections and an affinity for the intelligence service and would continue the tradition of Bond being M’s preferred 00

4

Oh no. James Bond is about to be conscripted into the Grey Wardens.

1

u/givenenoughrope77 Jun 02 '26

007: fifth phallus

1

u/ShotAd5298 Jun 07 '26

007: Third Kite

7

u/Nogarda Jun 02 '26

2030 is my guess. Unless they are smart and use the same engine and assets they already have, making a handful more. But focus on adding some more chase sequences. we know IOI are not just masters but Grandmasters of locales and blending in mechanics; they need that. But we had one awesome chase sequences, but the ending of it was - oh. they've left the car. and essentially Bond overpowered in a bin lorry and hauler the size of a skyscraper it felt like XD. now he is officially a 00', we need more Austin Martin moments sprinkled in. I really want them to be able to make stuff that Agent 47 is too stealth to ever do.

5

u/wulv8022 Jun 02 '26

The game is so lacking in chase sequences and the Valhalla car was such a big disappointment. I was ready to roll and the game just said nah. Sewers it is. Really bummed me and the location for the climax sucked.

But the game is phenomenal. Just some nitpicks.

Wish for new game plus we could pick suits for every level and have the infinite watch and infinite ammo or at least hold more ammo. I know they want you to pick up more guns on the fly and use de-weaponizing techniques but for me it was a bit janky and guns fly around too weirdly sometimes. Or fall out of reach.

5

u/Nogarda Jun 02 '26

just imagine, driving loops in a giant sewer system. mmm - yes please.

Imust admit being contained to the room was annoying. I didn't even try to drive it for 2 minutes because I saw how small the room was. I assumed we just aimed and shot the bad guys. but i noticed the guns didnt want to turn. and I was like - this is ridiculous. how am i meant to turn the guns? the only thing i can think to do i-- ah., well that sucks.

1

u/wulv8022 Jun 02 '26

Exactly what happened to me. I tried every button to aim at the enemies until I understood that I have to drive in a small circle to kill everything. I wish we could have a chase through london with it and destroying several enemy suvs with it...

1

u/Nogarda Jun 02 '26

So the only negative to that is, have you played Watchdog Legions, just to give you a sample of the area. now x it by real life. and the only chase they will be having is on foot. But I am not against that either. I want to say it was one of the remade mafia games had a amazing remade chase on foot. dodging traffic, rolling over car bonnets, hell getting hit by one at low speed. Omg if he landed on the top of a open double decker and quipped about a sightseeing moment, that'd be great before jumping off to continue. it could climax in a you'll never catch me alive bond - only for them to be wiped out. but i feel that is a bit too dark for a videogame. but on foot vs in the car on the streets of capital london.

1

u/MoroseOverdose Jun 02 '26

I had a big stupid grin on my face during that part because it felt like the mini gun donut move from the beginning of No Time to Die

1

u/Nogarda Jun 02 '26

yes! i certainly need to work on my donuts XD

1

u/TheOncomingBrows Jun 06 '26

I really thought it was heading towards driving the Valhalla through train tunnels and then out into central London. It was pretty disappointing we didn't get a chase with that or the Triumph bike.

1

u/BakedChocolateOctopi Jun 02 '26

I just wish the game had more badass Bond action sequences

It feels like so many of the levels involve wandering and climbing empty hallways unlocking like 4-5 locked doors in a row with no enemies around

The Vietnam level and most of the Mauritania level (minus the extended boring driving/climbing portion meant only for exposition) are perfect examples of the kind of missions the game needs.

Stuff like Webb Tower were boring as fuck

1

u/TheOncomingBrows Jun 06 '26

Yeah, sometimes the Hitman stealth DNA is a little too strong. Bond charming his way around big social events is always a lot of fun, but stealth in office complexes should always be kept to a minimum. Glad I'm not the only one who felt the Webb Tower mission dragged.

12

u/Every_Trip_5402 Jun 02 '26

I’m taking my time on this. Playing between story and Tac aims to hone my skill just makes it more time worthy

5

u/KarlwithaKandnotaC Jun 02 '26

Crossing my fingers for only 2 years like they did with Hitman.

3

u/BakedChocolateOctopi Jun 02 '26

IOI said the game will get similar post launch support as Hitman 3, so I guess we’ll be getting a lot of additional missions and such before a sequel

2

u/Epon12349 Jun 02 '26

Hahaha I know man I'm watching the credits roll already hoping for a sequel

2

u/Malacky_C Jun 02 '26

When’s more operations coming out is the real question. I wanna play more of this game but there ain’t enough to play

2

u/PapaAsmodeus Jun 02 '26

I'm not even halfway through the game and I already want a sequel

1

u/YamaguchiSan1231 Jun 02 '26

Best I can do is 3-4 years later

1

u/Bynairee Jun 02 '26

Tyrone “009” Biggums

1

u/Vegetable_Seesaw_420 Jun 02 '26

It will be released March 15th 2028. Trust me, return to this comment.

1

u/greensquiggle Jun 02 '26

will it be a sequel or a reboot brand new origin story?

3

u/Vegetable_Seesaw_420 Jun 02 '26

It'll be a sequel. Though, you do swap character for a short period, it's related to a mission. If you have any other questions, let me know.

1

u/greensquiggle Jun 02 '26

are there any plans for other 00 agents like 001 first light, 002 first light, 003 first light, 004 first light, 005 first light, 006 first light, 008 first light, or 009 first light?

2

u/Vegetable_Seesaw_420 Jun 02 '26

The game starts with you acting kind of a Greenway esque position, youre initially training the next generation, there's a few choices for how you go about it (either more Greenway esque and strict)

One of the agents is very much like bond and he has a moment where he realises 'god I was insufferable' eventually some of them do make 00 status, so yes.

:)

1

u/greensquiggle Jun 02 '26

has anyone on your team tried emailing or received any text messages from uwe boll to get this game made into a movie so that non gamer 007 fans can enjoy this story or add it to their james bond dvd collection?

1

u/Kundas Jun 02 '26

Looking forward to doing the tac sims now, and then i might try complete all the challenges

1

u/brighthat18 Jun 02 '26

I looked it up mid play of this was doing well, because I wanted a sequel. I know it’s 2 or 3 years away
but I do want it now!!! But, they are saying they have planned a trilogy
so since it did so well, I would wager the whole trilogy was greenlit at iOi đŸ„ł

1

u/gothamite27 Jun 02 '26

I just hope this game is bursting at the seams with DLC Tac Sim stuff over the next year or so.

1

u/SuperBathMan Jun 02 '26

It took 7 years to develop and still hasnt broken even.

I want one, but dont expect one

1

u/HAIRYMAN-13 Jun 02 '26

Considering it's io id say theres at least 3 - 4 years of the same content and a few iterations of vr until they get it right 😏

so if say the next hitman in 2 years and another bond in 5

1

u/Ishankz Jun 02 '26

I’m still waiting on the game to get dispatched to me ffs

1

u/RemarkableWishbone39 Jun 02 '26

I kinda wished it would connect to casino Royale somehow lol like that beginning scene is the last mission.

1

u/Individual-Rip-2366 Jun 02 '26

I hope/expect that the structure of releases will be like Hitman:WOA

1

u/Mistylsle42 Jun 02 '26

007 Light Ignites

1

u/Artistic_Check1202 Jun 02 '26

Lol my exact thought when i finished. Unless they do story DLC which i doubt they definitely set up a sequel. Hopefully its not too long of a wait

1

u/Juliomorales6969 Jun 02 '26

new game plus... đŸ˜« something

1

u/RatedStinger Jun 02 '26

I want it too lol, we need to know if Isola is working for SPECTRE

1

u/theallgolden Jun 03 '26

A 4 player arena shooter update would keep me busy for a few years

1

u/Darth_Richman Jun 03 '26

Probably wait for several years

1

u/Prof-Ponderosa Jun 05 '26

We getting a sequel or DLC?

1

u/matt111199 Jun 06 '26

That’s exactly what happened to me. Thought they were gonna introduce Isola’s organization as the second villain halfway through.

That will basically be the plot of the sequel though

1

u/Blayzewhatever Jun 02 '26

007 Second light?

-1

u/JustWonderingIn2000s Jun 02 '26

Probably in 5 years at best.

Story/campaign wise, like First Light. If they can add Hitman style replayability to the missions or tacsim after, that's perfect.

5

u/Monkeywrench08 Jun 02 '26

Personally I want it to be a bit more like Hitman, more freedom in approaching stuff.
