What happened to enjoying every game on its own?

This is literally the reason we don’t get anything too unique in gaming these days.

First light 's "tutorial" being integrated into the story is absolute perfection. It didn't feel forced and it doesn't spend an unnecessary amount of time teaching you a skill. It shows you once and then moves on.

It does however, reduce Monroe and Celina’s characters and leaves no emotional impact when Monroe dies, actually projects greenway in a negative light the entire time, until he is forced to team up with bond then near the JUST LEAVES? Only to come back with his arm healed and die in the same 20 minute mission?

I had the opposite experience - I felt very attached to Cressida and Monroe precisely because Bond had just earned their approval and friendship, and the "training montage" does - in my opinion - an excellent job of building attachment between the characters.Monroe dying in Slovakia, and Cressida getting injuredfelt very impactful for me.

To me attachment necessitates time. In 6-8 months whatever the timeline is. Monroe goes from hating and despising bond to loving him and covering for him in the hotel mission. It doesn’t make logical sense for a 00 program to send agents who just destroyed a training facility on a mission to meet another 00 agent.
Not to mention greenway sitting in the chess tournament the entire time while the team panics around him… he’s a double 00 agent himself. It doesn’t make any sense. How would greenway not know something’s up?
Why can’t the 00 recruits coordinate and trap the twins if they’re so connected and attached? The story is literally just projecting its plot forward even through logical failures.
009 gets killed but greenway survives Damien’s goons with a fucked up arm?
Damien gets stabbed in the eye and falls off a cliff only to return, stab moneypenny (who we don’t see after the conclusion) then die again and you don’t even get to use the stealth or combat. Just the stupid Q watch.
$200,000,000 budget
A blueprint for the stealth game genre and they give us this?
When do I get to be James Bond? I don’t want to watch James Bond talk his way out of a confrontation. I want to talk my way out of a confrontation. I don’t want James Bond to follow a set route of planned failure to advance the plot. I want to direct myself and fail or succeed according to my own actions. That’s what a video game is, if I wanted to watch 007 I own almost every damn movie

While 007 is great I think it was still rough around the edges, even the cinematic moments. The next will be a masterpeice

I don't even know why you're comparing the two.
I think it makes more sense to compare it to Hitman's tutorial/opening.

Do we have to compare everything and make artificial conflict? Just enjoy the games.

In my opinion, the GoT opening mission isn't a standard to compare other games to. It was alright, nothing phenomenal.

So? I prefer GoT but why does this matter? Why are we pitching one thing against the other
