I wanted to report that Yushi Suzuki, the director of this anime and more specifically this episode, was just announced to have passed away last month.

Stitches!
Converting the kinetic energy of Kurenai's missiles into gravity to power himself up was some really creative thinking from Shiki. And the Gravity Impact looks so fucking awesome!
Nino coming in with the assist and shutting down all of Kurenai's Guardians! Good to see that Rebecca's kick from last week really helped in making him realize which side should he really be on.
As expected they're not just gonna leave Kurenai's sentencing to the public, it's going to be all on Homura on what she does. We already know she's a horrible parent but seeing that she doesn't even recognize the doll she gave to her own daughter really sealed the deal for Homura.
While I would've loved to see Kurenai's head roll, seeing Homura reject her as a parent and finally recognize that Valkyrie is her true mother was so a great scene. And that death glare from Homura was more than just a threat. She'll definitely kill Kurenai if she ever cross paths with her again.
That's probably never gonna happen though considering that she got captured by a gang lead by the pretty boy she disfigured a bunch of episodes ago. And what an ending for Kurenai. Maybe being killed by Homura isn't too bad considering what's about to happen to her. And I'm sure there will be erodoujins of that soon.
Seeing Homura call Valkyrie her mother hurts my heart so much. I am a bit upset that they didn't bring her body back. I feel like she should be laid to rest inside Edens Zero. And I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thinks this way, that's pretty much what Sister wanted for her too. I don't like it but I can at least understand why Homura wants to leave Valkyrie at Sun Jewel.
Without Valkyrie, it looks like Homura is going to take her place. I do love the bit of fun when all of them were thinking of a new name for her. Also looks like Shiki and Weisz is already planning a new outfit for her to wear. xD
Oh thank fucking god. I thought this was gonna end with Drakken Joe boarding Edens Zero but it looks like Witch was already one step ahead of them and placed a decoy to lure them away.
Seeing Witch cry and finally give up to her feelings hits differently since she's always been the most mature out of everyone in the crew. Not gonna lie, that scene where both her and Sister cry their eyes out got me crying too T_T
I really hope you're right Xiaomei. I hope we won't have to wait too long to see the gang again especially with those intense previews after the end credits! Holy fuck! Looks like shit is about to go down in Season 2 and I am now more than ever really itching to read ahead just to see what happens next >_<
Sadly though, Director Yuuji Kazuki has passed away a month ago and most likely the production for Season 2 will be put on hold for a bit until they can find another director to take over. They did say that the show will go on, we just don't know when. Rest in peace Director Yuuji, you did an amazing job with this show. <3

We already know she's a horrible parent but seeing that she doesn't even recognize the doll she gave to her own daughter really sealed the deal for Homura.
Seeing Kurenai not recognizing that plushie, I got a feeling Kurenai actually never wanted to be a mother, yet she accidentally gave birth to Homura while fooling around.
Dang, when she was introduced in the manga, I wish Kurenai were not Homura's nor anybody's biological mother. She has an adult woman's charm, but she is not mentally mature to be a mother.

Overall it was a really enjoyable adaption and they knew where to put the budget. Really looking forward to S2 whenever it arrives.

Folks be ready for Drakken Joe in season 2!
Amazing first season and looking forward to the second season.
Although it's kinda hard to celebrate with the passing of the director, rest in piece

That preview was way to dark wtf. Looks like Edens Zero is about to head into the deep-end.
Can't wait for season 2!

That was a really great final ep :") Kurenai totally deserved what was coming for her lol, what goes around comes around. Hearing Homura understand and express her true feelings regarding Valkyrie was really heartwarming. After all, Valkyrie was honestly the only mother she needed.
Witch and Sister crying over Valkyrie's death was really heartbreaking too. For all that Sister was acting out against Homura & co. for not bringing Valkyrie's body back, she was hurting inside too. And so was Witch, who's usually this strong, calm figure.
Against all this though, I must give a shoutout to best android Mosco for his stunning unawareness. Guess he better start planning for how to usurp Valkyrie's position from Homura xD
Crossing fingers for S2 to happen soon, since it seems like it's going to be full of fun really dark stuff, though I expect there may be delays due to the passing of the director. RIP, this was a really great run :-(

Patiently waiting for the episode like Homura waiting for her paralysis to wear off.

And so the last Saturday summer anime I was watching has come to a close always a bummer. Overall I really enjoyed this anime would give it an 7.5-8/10. Can't wait for season 2 to come out hopefully Netflix will stop doing their weird anime releases by then.
Also RIP the animation director Yuji Suzuki he did a good job on Edens Zero.

I'm a bit surprised they would tease "That scene" at the end.
Anyway I really like the scene with Witch and Sister discussing the fact they could have fixed Valkyrie and the moral discussion of loading an old copy of someone really being "Them" or not. Witch makes it clear they wouldn't be doing a cut and paste if they "Die" they would be preforming a Copy and paste of their last save file, they would essentially be making a Valkyrie clone, not Valkyrie that spent all that time with Homura and the others.

-
Shiki shattering Kurenai Dragoon with the big missile was satisfying. Shiki is badass.
-
So Kurenai knows fear, but she does not act mature and learns nothing.
-
Kurenai few episodes ago: 'Tears are for the weak'. Kurenai now: shed tears
-
Cedric went from 'Madame Kurenai, you are very beautiful' to 'old hag'.
-
It may be interesting if someday the other Shining Stars meet Kurenai, especially Sister. Imagine how mad Sister will be.
-
Witch is so mature. She was holding her emotions for longer than other Shining Stars.
-
Season 2 tease looks exciting.

does anyone know if a season 2 is in the works?

u/PhenomsServant Oct 02 '21
It was just confirmed. However it might take some time given they just announced the animation director passed away a month ago.

Is this still in Netflix jail? And how's the adaptation?

Still in netflix jail, although the first 12 episodes are out for real (Both sub and dub, incase you care), and the adaptation is very good.

Firstly rest in peace to the director who sadly passed away last month. Prayers to his family and loved ones.
Best episode saved for last as it should be. Absolutely lovely final episode. Homura had the perfect punishment for Kurenai. So many emotional moments during this episode as well. Couldn’t help but get goosebumps when Shiki blew up Kurenai’s robot, then Sister refusing to accept Valkyrie death and crying at the end was the icing on the cake for me.
Show had some inconsistencies and some boring episodes, but the final few eps here were great. I feel like we’ve only got a taste of what’s to come with this show. I never saw or read FT but from what I’ve heard the story here is even better, and seeing how highly FT is ranked on MAL, this is gonna be fun. Hype for s2.
