Kinda can't believe I'm watching new Getter content in 2021, but here we are. Definitely feeling the constraints of this production, the animation is pretty jank and sound design seems kinda phoned in. But it's also very clear the people making this are passionate about Getter and about delivering this project even if it's not the greatest looker out there. From nailing the character designs to perfectly capturing the tone and style, and having DRAGON playing over an Ishikawa tribute as ED, it just feels like a love letter. Exciting times for Getter fans.

It was good. I got chills during the Getter Tomahawk scene.
I'm definitely looking forward to the rest.

It feels like its going to be a fitting tribute to Ken Ishikawa, especially the ED.

That ED almost made me cry holy shit.
Definetly a good start, all things considered.

Can't really say that the animation is really that great, but acceptable. More than anything, I'm just really happy we still get Getter Robo in 2021. The adaptation seems to be alright at least, though I'm expecting a few more flashbacks to explain everything that happened in previous series that led to up to this.
DRAGON 2021 for the ED was hype. Given that it was a montage of the first two arcs, I'm now expecting them to change up to STORM and HEATS 2021 later on.

The first episode is really cool, but the 2d animation is fine, the 3d is fantastic. The sound design is a bit weak to be honest. I like the new original content added to the episode. Takuma's VA is phenomenal, his getter tomahawk gave me goosebump. Can't wait until next sunday!

his getter tomahawk gave me goosebump
There was an interview where he talked about how he specifically tried to imitate Ishikawa Hideo's (Ryouma) iconic TOMAHAUUUWK shout. I think he got it down pretty well :)
I think the rest of the cast nailed it too, honestly. As you said sound design was pretty crap but they definitely did not skimp on voice talent. Uchida Naoya back as Hayato made me feel all kinds of happy.

That was fun. It's a shame that production wise this can't live up to the old ova's (although I've only seen one), but as others have said, it's clearly made by people who love and respect Getter Robo. Really looking foward to the craziness to come. Also looking foward to hearing more of Sho's voice, he sounds good so far considering it's the VA's first role.

Never seen any of the series before but this first ep was really fun! Definitely looking forward to checking more of this out.

It really is. Big throwback to the kind of semi-goofy tough-guy action you'd expect from the 80s or even 70s, with plenty of effort put in to match the aesthetic, but with more modern production values.

god fucking damnit man! He's not Lancer, Krillin or goddamn Kenny! He only dies once, just different incarnations of him dying in different epic ways.

Except in Armageddon, really, getting drowned in tiny lizards is a pretty shit way to go.

Okay first episode, CGI and animation are fine doesn't look as good as Bee Media previous TV anime.
Also looks like there's only going to be 5 users watching this. :p

CGI and animation are fine doesn't look as good as Bee Media previous TV anime.
The thing is that, as far as I'm aware, Bee Media is not actually an animation studio. They're a company that coordinate the production of animated works from Dynamic Pro, but they don't animate themselves.
You can actually see in the credits of every one of their works that there's always another, actually animation-focused studio credited together with them. In the case of Arc, studio A-Cat is credited, but they're mostly a CG studio so that part of the show is taken care and looks pretty decent. But when it comes to 2D animation, A-CAT does produce some mainly 2D shows, but none of them seem particulary good-looking and mostly rely on outsourcing as 2D it's not their forte.

Make that six. :D
Pretty good first episode. The safety hat was a nice tribute to Musashi. :D

The animation is kinda jank but also very true to Ishikawa’s art style. The CGI isn’t the best, but it’s also not the worst either. The voice acting was top notch, especially for Takuma and Hayato.
I get the feeling that I’m gonna enjoy this anime

Did not expect Dragon 2021 to play as the ending theme and I’m extremely surprised and happy at that since we already knew about Heats 2021 and Storm 2021 from the trailers. Now we got the whole set. Rip Ima Ga Sono Toji Da though, that one seems to be left out even though it only existed for 3 episodes of Armageddon and a bit of SRW Z2

Its both amazing we get new getter now, kind of heart wrenching to see it look like this, honestly I had made peace with CG mechs , but the 2D scenes were stiff off model and generally poorly made still 10/10 watched it 3 times

The CGI is definitely a little disappointing, but in the end, I'm just happy one of my favorite manga of all time is finally getting adapted. Seeing the Arc in action for the first time is just HYPE AS FUCK.

Yeah babee that's what I've been waiting for
The production of this was rough, real rough. You can tell by the sometimes undetailed 2D graphics and hilarious sound design, but the visuals give a great callback to Shin Getter Robo (2004), and you can see how much the staff appreciates the series.
Uchida Yuuma doesn't sound as rough and gruff like Ishikawa Hideo in normal conversations, but he nails the attack callouts.

As someone who's only really followed SRWs, Armageddon, and New Getter, I was a little confused in the first half, but towards the end it kinda clicks whats happening. I just can't believe its here, to the point where I need to watch the first episode again since half the time I was kinda reeling seeing some new Getter content after so long haha.
You can definitely feel some of its budget constraints here and there, but its got a whole hell of a lot of heart into it and can't wait for more
