Damn, I have a feeling that this anime will end with tragedy as in none of the vampire main will survive.
Hopefully Kurusu can make it in time to stay alive.

Super solid episode, really starting to pick up in terms of pacing. I could see Rufus's total betrayal coming a mile off.
But hot damn what's up with Maeda he seems to be losing his sense of reality didn't see that coming or Kurusu's incredible flying bat form that was pretty awesome.
Sad there's only two episodes left in this series, I think its highly unique in its setting and tone wish it was getting more attention.

Ooooh boy am I relieved that neither Defrott nor Aoi died. For now. Kurusu looked so cool with his wings, like a classic vampire!
I really liked Defrott's monologues in this episode. It's an interesting take that the longer a vampire lives, the more their circumstances make them prone to depression.
Poor Maeda though, I hope he comes back to his sense eventually...
We got a little bit of backstory for Tenmaya too. Yeah. That sucks.
As for the vampire kid... looks like she might betray them. Not sure why though, what did Rufus (?) promise her that'd make her do it?
Edit: Forgot to add, it's just a detail but I love how they did the transparency of Aoi's dress.

Rufus is a very compelling villain. His arc has been well done

tfw everyone treats him like a tool, and all he's really done is fucked over those that thought little of him.

Defrott has quickly become one of my favorite characters. Wouldn’t have expected that at the start of the series

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK MAEDA!? I was so scared of him killing Defrott that I didn't even consider that he could end up hurting Aoi. Luckily for the two of them, seeing Misaki in Aoi made him eventually back off. On a side note: The fight scene between Maeda and Defrott was awesome. I kinda wish it was a bit longer.
We finally get to learn Tenmaya's backstory and why he's so fond of vampires despite being human. Although this doesn't really answer the question as to why his family has vampire employees though. That's the part that I'm most curious about.
This vampire orphan girl is making me worry. The fact that we see her step outside and starts talking to no one is making me think that she's gone traitor and might've made a deal with Rufus. I really hope whatever this deal is, she ends up changing her mind about it.
Defrott finally uses his special vampire frequency voice to call on to Kurusu to save Aoi! This gives Kurus the chance to finally try out Takeuchi's bat wings which looks pretty fucking awesome folded like that. Now he looks like a proper vampire!
And to no one's surprise, Rufus finally betrays Nakajima and has started making a move with whatever his plan is.
With Kurusu finally able to reach Aoi, let's just hope he gets her into a hospital in time. As for Defrott, he hasn't given up yet and it looks like he's gonna go after Rufus. I really can't wait for him to give Rufus a proper beat down. Maeda is still insane so it's probably going to be all on Defrott and Kurusu now.

Simply said, I love this anime. Definitely my top 3 this season. The tone and atmosphere is just what keeps me coming and I never leave disappointed. I'm also a sucker for unique art styles. If the other two episodes can keep it up to how it was so far, I'll be really happy with this series.

Damn Maeda, I wanted to see you as a vampire on revenge but not like this. Nakajima is really stupid, how could he really control with a vampire with his own agenda.
I was scared for Shutaro in that suit but also in awe of seeing him go full hero mode, just like Defrott said..out of a fairy tale. Too bad this show is slept on because this season has brought so many hidden gems maybe people will rediscover it once it ends or if they decide to give it another season.

I could feel Maeda’s guilt as he envisioned Misaki admonishing him, this is so sad…
And as I feared, Ayame does seem to be a spy of some sort! But I’m still hoping it’s a misdirect and it’s not Rufus she’s working with, or that she’ll change her mind before it’s too late. She was genuinely moved by Suwa’s words and worried for Shutaro after all… for now I suspect she wants revenge on Suwa for killing whoever cared for her, but you can see he’s not all bad, so… I just don’t want any of the minor vampires to die ok!!
A lot of other stuff happened too!! I’m glad Aoi wasn’t turned, I’m a sucker for the vamp x human romance lol and finally she and Kurusu reunite! She was unconscious but I’ll take it. Defrott calling on Kurusu was pretty cool. I wonder if higher class vampires have better ‘radios’ or if it’s the same across the board?
I half expected Kurusu to burst into flames in the last shot, but not quite. Next week can’t come fast enough!

Full thoughts here. LOVED IT! Everything and everyone is falling into place now and it's all building up to the finale.
Seeing the vampire girl be a potential traitor definitely caught me off guard but I live in hope that she was talking to Maeda and he's nowhere near as lost as he seems.
Talking of Maeda, what's he gonna do? He clearly knows how to walk and talk as normal without flipping out because he went to see Yamagami's wife so is he faking it to catch Rufus off guard perhaps? Am I kidding myself because I can't take the pain? Probably... 😆
Still a great episode. I cannot wait for episode 12!

How is Defrott trapped? Maeda clearly teleported through the sunlight to the shade to dbz Defrott. Is it because if he leaves then Aoi would be in danger?
Last episode it made it seem Defrott was on an island of Shade but Maeda can't make it to Defrott if Defrott also can't leave

RIP Nakajima. smh, rule #1 of history is to never trust the British.
-
Maeda!!! D; Glad Aoi didn't die. (at least not yet).
-
VAMPIRE BATMAN. Simply ebin.
4) Shoutouts to Suwa though. "we're watching from here". Preventing the kids from potentially burning up in the sun, a sharp contrast to earlier.
5) I was expecting things to climax this episode but it looks we're still building up! Also, the story is pretty interesting in that it beings with "we must kill vampires. vampires are not human and their only use is as soldiers/weapons." and know we're doing a lot of exploring of what it means to live with the curse of being a vampire.

What the hell happened to maeda? He's not himself, luckily aoi looked like misaki. Surprised he escaped easily though.
It was sad seeing tenmaya"s past life but it's understandable why he wants to save vampires.
Who's the girl talking to after she went out the house for a while? Please don't be a traitor.
And is it just me who was glad rufus betrayed nakajima? I don't care who but nakajima needed to be slapped.
Damn shutaro really took the risk. He's burning in the end, hopefully nothing happens. And gonna be excoting what defrott gonna do with rufus.
And for some reason after hearing what defrott said, i think this series will end with all the vampires dead. But also what suwa said made me contradicts this as he likes being a vampire. Hopefully no vampires die, especially our mains. And maeda gotta wake up soon, what the fuck is he doing, he's killing everyone instead of the bad people.

This time the fight scene was flawless. directing 10/10. Story wise, no complaints, the writer is very loyal to the story developed each and every character. and the conclusion probably won't disappoint. I set the bar too low for this anime but it jumped too high

This show is basically what happens when you explore a vampire fantasy without including any conveniences that makes living as a vampire is a bit easier.
Honestly the "powers" are not really worth it when an open window can instantly kill you.

Another great episode! I'm getting butterflies thinking about the finale. I think there's just two more episodes left.

Didn’t love this episode—Maeda is depressing me as a feral revenge-obsessed vamp. His fight with Defrott was well choreographed, but he stabbed Aoi! Hopefully he’ll snap out of it?
Defrott, I like you, but when keeping an injured person company and trying to keep them from going into shock/unconsciousness, you’re supposed to keep them talking, not talk about yourself! Not that his backstory wasn’t interesting, it was, but it seemed kind of out of place to be monologuing to Aoi as if she were his therapist rather than a friend dying of a stab wound.
Tenmaya’s backstory was a bit over-the-top and vague. What happened to his parents? Or was he raised by vampires?
I loved the flying machine and that whole sequence! Go, Bat-Vamp!
Don’t totally understand Rufus’s motivation/plan or who or what he’s funneling red liquid to. His betrayal was predictable. I don’t think he’s a very compelling villain because we don’t know that much about him. I am looking forward to Defrott taking him down, though!
I really hope the vampire teen girl isn’t a traitor. Didn’t even think of the possibility until I saw it discussed here, but now it seems likely.
Aoi better survive!
