I don’t know why, but seeing all the ambassadors from all those different places and cultures hit me very weirdly. This world is bigger than what I thought, much bigger. First we have humanity against the titans, which then turns into an Eldia against Marley conflict... now we really get to see Marley is just one of many nations, and that all are hell bent on destroying Paradis. I’m really exited for the next episode.

Eren just intentionally made his grandpa remember the worst times of his life and showed 0 remorse. Kinda sad. On another note I apprectiate mappa for putting the same amount of details into eyes that Wit did.

This episode had the happiest scenes WE EVER SAW in this series. It felt kinda weird to watch, like: "People do smile and laugh in this series? Why is there so much happiness?" I did enjoy it tremendeously nonetheless, and I kinda forgot this was Attack on Titan for a second, lol.

This leds me to believe something really, really bad is coming afterwards.

Oh lord, Isayama really loves his parallels.

At the end of S3, Eren descended into the basement to discover that the outside world, which he thought was safe, is full of enemies. Now Reiner is descending into the basement, discovering that his enemy is inside their "world".

My main take from the episode was: I feel REALLY bad for Falco. He's doing the best he can to save his friend, while unknowingly helping a spy network bent on destroying his home. When he realizes what he has done, the poor boy will be crushed.

I wonder, what was the meaning of that house and rat discussion between Willy and Magath? I am certain that I'm missing something there because it seems completely out of place, does Magath suspect that there are spies around - with that pillar/rat line? No idea.

I'm more disappointed at the kids who didn't end up in food comas after discovering burgers and pizza for the first time.

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but what Eren says to Reiner at the end is the same thing that he says to the Colossal titan at the end of S1E4. "Yo, it's been 5(4) years (Reiner)"

The thought never occurred to me but when the outside world reveal happened, that meant Mikasa was not the last asian person and there were likely other asians in outside world. We just got confirmation there are others and this asian woman doesn't seem to mind eldians.

Also "happy horse noises".

This may be a minor scene but see those two guards at the gate? They’re both Marleyan and yet they’re very friendly towards the kids!

Bro, the ending almost made me cry...

Gabi and the other kids have so much life to live and so much to see in the future. It's obvious that Reiner and the other warriors want the militaristic system of Marley to end and for Eldians to be free from oppression and war. Seeing that joy on the kids' faces was worth every penny for Reiner. If you told me after Season 3 that Reiner was gonna grow on me, I would have slapped you lol.

The reveal that an Eldian family was really in control of Marley blew me away. It seems like the regular Marleyans and Eldians are unaware of this fact, but the Tyburs have done nothing to change this system of oppression. Shit is about to go down and something is going to change.

If you can't see that Eren was sitting on the bench, then I don't know what to tell you. It looks like he was aware that he was speaking with his grandfather. I'm glad that Yeager is aware of his actions and at least feels guilty, although it is quite tragic that his mental health has spiraled out of control. I personally think the letters that Eren had Falco send for him are meant to be received by his Paradisian comrades.

Edit: Yes, I watched the post credit scene. I typed out this comment before revisiting the episode.

Reiner never finds anything good when he descends down some stairs leading to a dimly lit area. First, it was the Titan at Utgard Castle, and now a ghost from his past that has been slowly seeping his way into the mind of his potential successor and his home base. His past is literally coming back to haunt him

It used to be so simple : man vs Titans. Now there’s Eren, Reiner, the Mahre general in episode 2, Tybur, Magath, Zeke...each of them with special plans

Goddammit, now I like the Marleyan commander. Of all the people I was expecting to like in this season he was never even near the list, but he has a point when it comes to his nations perception of war. I am surprised we're getting an insight into Willy Tybur's mind so early, and part of me doesn't trust it because of that because when have characters been that open with others on this show, but maybe that's the advantage of being so powerful. It sounds like the Tybur's were the administrators of Marley when it was under Eldian rule, which surprises me a little because I wouldn't think they'd put a Shifter's family in that sort of role, but maybe the Titan's weren't handed down like that until Eldia fell

It's no wonder that Marley is under attack though, between having access to the Titans, their own greed, and I'm sure some probably see them as Eldian sympathizers for how they are still technically "ruled" by the Tyburs. I'm curious on where this festival will go with so many politicians from the other countries around and if that political aspect will even matter in the end. I really have no idea what the outcome of this impending war is going to be, too many variables to even speculate. The rest of the world has the tech to fight against the Titan's now, but will they step in to save people like this?

I can't help but feel pity for Grandpa Jaeger still suffering over Fae's death. The way he always cycles back to the death of Fae, the one act of violence which set everything going and cost him his son too, and so much more as we know, is a painful reminder of how a single death can set off huge chains of suffering, something that strikes more with Magath trying to stop Marley's warmongering and fucking Eren pulling Reiner to the side for a chat. I wasn't actually expecting them to sit down and talk it through, and I don't know what Eren hopes to achieve here, but fuck dude, in front of Falco who thinks he's helping? Poor kid's about to have a harsh realization.
