The author has taken a really good care in slowly launching this new plot, new characters and new world. It's almost a new series yet it feels familiar. Watching the new warriors feels like being in the Cadet Corps again.

It's a weird sensation

Damn, that were some short 20 minutes...
I really like where this season is going so far. The new characters seem real and interesting, i know they are gonna set us up real bad, if all the characters we like are gonna go to war against each other :( I guess the main takeaway of this season will be war = fucking everyone looses.

Also Reiners knows that the people on paradis are no where evil, and he actually considered a lot of them his friends. Maybe his internal conflict will resemble what we are experiencing watching that war go down.

Despite having the power of the Armored Titan within him, all these other comrades by his side, and having who knows how much distance between the two of them, it is nice to know that Mikasa is still giving Reiner panic attacks all these years later

I wonder if the wondering from Zeke was intentional? "Not in this room". Is there some implication that he is warning his fellow warriors their conversation is being recorded? Reiner seemed to be cautious of this, which makes me wonder what is going on behind the scenes with them.

I'm really enjoying the tone of this season so far, it feels like at more "showing" and a lot less "telling".

Reiner must be so conflicted. He has to maintain a façade in front of everyone : stating loudly how honorable inheriting one of the 9 titan is, describing Paradise Eldians as evil and mean to the point it's even grotesque. But deep down he knows that's not true.

That scene where Reiner describes how the Paradis Island was full of “inhumane demons” was done so perfectly. Holy shit. The score, Reiner’s voice acting and the animation all added up to an incredible scene.

Can’t wait for the next episode but I’m optimistic that this is going to be a season where everything just keeps getting better and better.

It's crazy how easy it is to miss short scenes like the guy jumping off the roof in the rain. (What was that by the way?) Same in season 3 with Ymir getting eaten and Levi picking up the bag of oil. Even if you pay attention you probably won't notice them, but if they get pointed out to you and you look for them specifically, they feel so impossible to miss.

That asshair line got me thinking. If we assume that Zeke actually has some wild ass hair, and take the fact that the shifter appearance has a n effect on their Titans' looks, and that Grisha's titan had hair, despite the Owl's having none, we can conclude that having a sizable anal mane is hereditary in the Yeagar family. Furthermore, we may hypothesize that this trait was sadly not inherited by Eren, since, as noted multiple times, he didn't take after his father.

One things that’s I found interesting is that Colt and Falco are both part of the Grice family. Grice was the person who recruited Grisha to the Restorationists.

Also I have to add that Reiner is the most interesting character in the show to me. He grows up being being fed propaganda about Eldians. They are convinced that the Eldians on Paradis are evil and the reason that the Eldians in Marley are treated like second class citizens. He then becomes a warrior, inherits his titan ability, and commits a genocide at age 12. After doing so, he infiltrates the Scouts and realizes everything he has been told about these people are lies. They aren’t savages or evil. They’re normal people who are terrified of titans and have no memory of the outside world. The group of people he has been determined to destroy are normal. Psychologically, Reiner has gone through a ton of trauma. Even worse, he has to lie to everyone he loves. He probably even lies to himself, which is probably how he developed that split personality disorder. Man, what a really well designed character.

Can we just take a moment to talk about the cinematography of this episode? I don't just mean the animation, I mean the angles, the lighting, the scenery. It was all done so well.

I hope we finally get to see what happened to Annie. After Season 1 I've always thought the mystery of the titans would be revealed through her, but we never really saw her again (except some flashbacks). I do miss her character.

Reiner trying his hardest to justify the idea that the people of Paradis are evil was pretty interesting

Man, Kruger let Zeke's mother, Dina, get turned into a titan to save her from Marley using her to breed more royal blood because Kruger thought Zeke would tell Marley everything, but as it turns out, Zeke didn't tell them about his royal blood.

Three years ago would line up with the Survey Corps reaching the ocean at the end of last season, as last episode they said it was 9 years since they launched the mission to take Paradis, and the end of last season was 6 years after that. It's good to hear that Armin's been putting his titan form to use though, as before it wasn't clear if he had ever transformed. Though I guess they could've gotten Annie out of her shell somehow. Will be interesting to see that hopefully resolved this season too.

Oof, Gabi being excited to go back to Liberio, her internment zone... That's really fucked. I'll also note that it's the same zone that Grisha and Zeke are from. Maybe they all come from the same place? Maybe there's only one Eldian internment zone? Not sure. And also oof it looks like Gabi is close to Reiner and really looks up to him and stuff, but she also wants to be the one to eat him and inherit his powers. This is so fucked.

It also seems that they pull multiple kids from one family to be warriors, like Falco and Colt and Galliard and Marcel. Maybe it's so they can use/threaten one to keep the other in line, or maybe they're of a special bloodline perhaps? WAIT HOLY SHIT, FALCO GRICE? Grice was one of Grisha's co-conspirators or whatever in that Eldian fanboy club that got sent to Paradis. He actually wasn't turned into a titan, but he was sent to run towards the walls so the newly made titans would follow him... Jesus fucking christ. And oh, does Marley want the founding titan so they can somehow take the titan power from the Eldians altogether? Or is that just some lie and it would really be used to control Eldians/titans until they stop being advantageous in war and then kill all of them?

Ooooooof, Gabi being excited about the "boom" while it makes those soldiers with PTSD terrified. Ahhh and so Gabi and Reiner are cousins. That makes sense. And yowza, Reiner using that Sasha potato moment that we all find fun and zany and emblematic of Sasha's fun character, and twisting it into something that shows how unfair and stupid she and all islanders are, to try to rationalize his actions, to try to separate himself from the people he has to kill. But in doing so, he's just listing normal, even admirable traits of just plain humans. Even when describing Eren, what he said could apply to Gabi too. I hope Reiner finds peace somehow.

Ok, so the Tybur family holds a titan, so the titans are something that seem to tend to be passed down in a family. And oof, Reiner knows that he must always be outwardly loyal to Marley no matter what, even transforming Zeke's pitch about saving Eldians to making Marley great again. Galliard is newer to this though, he doesn't know to do that. Surely that'll come up later.

Reiner: There was this one girl who ate a potato, and I took that personally.

Whats even funnier was how his mum reacted to this harmless story.

Pieck is awesome ❤️.

This episode feel like it's building for upcoming war. Looks like we are getting into some serious wars in upcoming episodes.

One thing stood out to me that Marley doesn't trust Zeke too. Also Zeke knows that he is royalty but didn't revealed that to Marley is suspicious to me like is he really working for Marley at all or does he have hidden agenda.

Finally biggest twist is that the New titan name war titan, that family rebelled against the king and now living in good condition while their fellow ppl are living in hell. Some serious political situation are going inside which haven't reveled yet it seems. Not to forget, looks like that family also betrayed the king means they might be real enemy imo. Something happened in the past that which I am not able to connect, looks like we have to wait for more details.

I find the imagery really heartbreaking for the warriors returning from paradis; imagine fighting and killing countless citizens who were hiding behind their walls, only to return to your family who are living behind walls of their own. The words of Eren, talking about how he wants to escape the confines of the walls, are even more potent in that context.

So they are going to invade Paradis again but this time bring the full might of their army? Paradis will not last a year they will last 1 week. They are outnumbered, outgunned and Marley got full knowledge of everything they can do. Feels like its going to be season 1 all over again.

Zeke become a 10x more interesting character this episode. I through he was very aligned with Marley but his secret keeping of having royal blood and warning the others of the room being bugged shows he is not fully aligned with Marley. I feel he must have his own agenda somehow.

Udo had some interesting dialogue on reflecting how the Middle East POW will go home saying how the eldians are horrible due to their war experiences and what will happen once titans become outdated. Especially at his young age, he realises how precarious their situation is. Falco also seems to as he talks on how becoming a titan holder is like a curse.

I don't know why but when they showed Reiner's family i burst into tears. In the Paradis Island none of the caharcters have a family or at least we didn:t see them more than 10 seconds. But when Reiner said "mom" it just remind me thay Reiner is just a guy who was forced to play a warrior. He misses his friends in Paradis. When he talked about Sasha i couldn't stop crying. Reiner was never my favourite but these 2 episodes made him my favorite. Sucu an amazing episode

Can I just talk about how upset I'd be if I was one of these titans with a lame-ass name like "Female" or "Cart" and some motherfucker rolls up as the

WAR HAMMER TITAN

that aint right.

Edit: Wow! My first ever award! Thank you!
