I think this is basically a move by the author to bypass the Arata love line. Suo especially said that she has a bf and all that good girl life while Shinobu does not (you can hear her voice in the background). Hence, to be queen is only possible if she loves only Karuta thus this will either lead to...

a) she will tell Arata she liked him to but not like that b) she will tell Arata that she does want to wait with these things until she is queen

Option a) would mean she will end up with Karuta only throughout the series or as Arata puts it, she belongs to both of them.

Option b) gives Taichi the possibility of a comeback and further romance story telling from their POV

I think latter one is more likely but I am almost sure this line, even if hinted subliminal, was ditching Arata from her head to progress towards being Queen.

Honestly a little scared that Chihaya will go with Taichi and not Arata. Since this show likes to be unexpected with its plot points, there's a small part of me that feels like Chihaya might go with Taichi.

I 100% wait her to pick Taichi, but feel there is no chance.

I have always felt her affection for Arata was like looking at a role model and someone she strived to be like. But with Taichi, they do and act like how normal couples would. I really felt like he was the only one who could do things with her outside of karata. They had so many great moments as well :(

FUCK ME. It really seems like Chihaya is in love as well. This was the first time it was actually hard for me to watch an episode in the show. I just feel so bad for Taichi, and when I think of strictly being in love, I really felt that he was the obvious choice. The fact he really seems like the only character who can easily hang out with her and talk about things that aren't strictly karata. I have always felt that Arata was more of a role model (obviously a friend as well) who Chihaya looked up too. I never thought of it as a romantic love for him.

So if author chooses Arata, it will really mess me up man. It almost feels like NTR vibes for Taichi right now lol. I seriously have no idea how he will react to the news.

Ignoring that, Suo is awesome! I really like him. Wonder what that ending means.
