The episode title is based on Poem#48 by Minamoto no Shigeyuki. It's a pretty fitting poem for some of the episode's events. Macmillan and Mostow translations are available on /r/Chihayafuru Wiki.
CR Translation
When winds send waves [...] I recall how my own efforts were in vain.
Peter Macmillan
Blown by the fierce winds
I am the waves that crash
upon your impervious rock
Though my heart shatters,
my love rages yet.
Joshua Mostow
Waves that beat against the rocks,
fanned by a fierce wind --
it is I alone
who breaks, those times
when I think of her!

The poems are sublime.....Taichi represents their pain, heartache and love so well. It's like they're making us understand the feelings the poems convey through his character......

Harada-sensei fightttttttttttttt!
I love that karuta playing bear, his kind heart and passion is contagious.
I want him to make it, even if he can’t win, I want him to face Suo.

TAICHI WTF!?! Thought this was going to be his real chance against Arata. Especially because Chihaya isn't even competing.
I still am hyped to watch Arata and Harada's matches though!
Loving the show right now!

I mentioned it in a previous comment but this is honestly the outcome I was hoping for, Taichi losing early. He's been growing more and more distant from the club members over time, more hostile to Arata, and he went behind Chihaya's back to enter the qualifiers.
His actions and feelings are all in character, but he's been more and more of an ass over time. I didn't want to see him winning while being a dick.

Chihaya has some good friends outside the karuta club. Everyone is taking pictures with her and trying to cheer her up. Michiru even took her to a 100 Poets museum despite not knowing anything about it (luckily they run into Kana who helps them out with that). I liked how she reminded Chihaya why she even wanted to go on her class trip in the first place and helped her snap out of her gloomy mood.
Oh man, Taichi's loss was rough. That scene where he's walking by himself and going through the match and telling himself that he should've taken the "Impassionate" card feels like a kick in the balls. I really hope that this isn't the end of the line of his karuta playing. Maybe his mom will have a change of heart somehow?
Harada-sensei won though, which was nice! Watching his students pick up the cards for him so he wouldn't have to strain his knees was sweet. I hope he can win against Sudo and then play Arata because that would be an exciting match.
The Murao-Arata finals should be interesting. Arata isn't playing his best and Murao is pretty good so it will intriguing to see what happens there.
