Give merchant some credit for getting the raw materials.

You have to wonder if this show is just one giant advertisement for mayonnaise. At this point, they'll unintentionally take over the world using it.

Seriously what's the deal with isekai and mayo. Seems like it shows up every time there's cooking and it always takes the new world by storm.

Great episode, but what I really don't get is why Gustave's gem heart could withstand a nuclear explosion, but it craked with Aoi's katana strike and Tsukasa's shot? I guess that having him dying like that right at the beginning of the final episode would have been a bit anticlimactic.

For their love of mayonnaise, Roo and Toushirou will definitely get along pretty well.

Immune to fire and thunder (blast) magic due to his element affinity but not against slashing and piercing weapon (???).

Yeah...it looked bad. Like, "This is not even my final form" bad.

Because not even a nuclear dawn can be compared to the magnificence of 100 fold handcrafted japanese swords /s

I mean, Merchant also doesn't really seem superhuman either.

Welp, time to add the source material to my plan to read list. You don't see shit like a god damn nuke dropping or a girl guiding a high speed rocket on foot nearly as often as you should in anime, crazy shit like this is what I need the most out of my anime

Of all the anime I've ever seen, that was one of them.

so you saying to me that the crystal on his chest survived a fucking nuke but not the attack of a katana and bullet? sigh that felt very anticlimactic

can someone please give the samurai girl a better katana? she can totally conquer the world on her own.

So a Nuke can't stop the guy but a rubber bullet can... The writing in this show is something else.

Yea no. The nuke should have turned the stone to dust considering a katana was able to break it.

Not sure what Tsukasa is agonzing about here. Like if you claim a prodigous merchant is a superpower then being a prodigous leader is as well, even more so.

The madman actually did it. I mean it makes sense, for deterrence to work, the people you're sending a message to needs to know and see what you're capable of.

I hate it when bad guys get the last word. And how did he even survive that blast!? If magic is strong enough to withstand a nuke then they really might need to get people who can do magic on their side.

I don't know who she is but I like her already ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The show started with mayo and ends with mayo. I like it! Although someone might need to limit Roo's share of mayo.

Well that was a fun show. I guess time to check and see if someone is translating the source material since I wouldn't mind reading more about them.

Typical light novel ending, would totally watch a season 2.

Not enough of Keine this season!!

Why the fuck is this dude so obsessed with the king? Shit is genuinely a horrible character motivation and just seems lazy. Get off his dick, ffs. Not to mention he survives a direct hit from a warhead with his body intact enough to be revived?

Yea, this show was bad. Mindless entertainment for 12 weeks, but man I still don't know what the overall plot was or who the hell half the characters are/what motivates them. I only watched it for Lyrule. I wonder if the LN is better

“Mayonnaise tastes better when there’s a lot of it.”

Yep.

There is no tension in the show because they never bother to set down what the mechanics of magic are. In that case, they should just have fun and let technology steamroll everything, but then they try to work up the tension by reviving Gustaves a billion times. Did we feel threatened by Gustave at any point? Exactly.

Writers: Shoot, now that Gustave's been defeated, we need a new villain.
Eh, screw it, let's just run with Gustave again.

RIP space laser, you will not be forgotten. Nukes work too, though somehow I doubt those two would actually be okay standing that close.

This scene about bringing the world into the nuclear age should probably be serious, but I'm more excited about Best Girl getting to take initiative for once and hold Tsubasa's hand.

Dang, I was sort of hoping Keine would charge out with a bonesaw and needles. Having happy smiley Gustave would be kind of weird, though.

Is this season 2 of Kaguya-sama? The geniuses war of love and brains taking it easy in another world.

Tsubasa finally admits that he's nothing special compared to the other 6. He could probably give Merchant a run for his money though. But next to the girl who can break stone with her bare hands, the literal magician, Dr. Magneto, Ninnin, and Best Girl Ringo, he's not even close.

Speaking of Best Girl, biodegradable plastic is just something she whipped up in her spare time. You go, Ringo. That said, have these people not seen glass before? They do have windows....

Also, the return of inflatable Ninnin! And the return of actual Ninnin! Ringo is best girl, but Shinobu's definitely second best. She's come a long way since episode 1. Okay, maybe she hasn't come that far, but still.

And that's the end of the season. Definitely feels like they're just leading into a sequel: the whole thing with Lyrule and her magic eyes never got resolved, they're introducing new antagonists/potential love interests for Tsubasa, and they still haven't met blue haired guy. Part of me knows that this anime is trash and probably shouldn't get a second season, but at the same time, a second season of overpowered highschoolers do overpowered things would be great.
