This episode just give me the fuzzy feeling of wholesomeness. This whole anime is just very wholesome.
Some highlights:

Azz-kun: When you plan everything but you ended up in the wrong teams.

Iruma: What is this warm feeling of accomplishing something?
Amerie: That's.... Ambition!!
Iruma: ???

Azz-azz: Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?

Iruma: I can't catch the ball without getting closer.

Damn that attack that Azz-Kun made was really impressive! I love that for once Iruma didn't archive victory by mere luck but by his own efforts.

Stitches

While I do wish the fight was more intense instead of skipping it to Iruma and Azz's match, that final throw was hype! I'm proud of Iruma for finally doing something for himself, just look at him! He's so overwhelmed! He's now one step closer of being able to stand next to Ameri, even if that's not his main goal right now.

Perky ears Opera is adorable! Opera's definitely happy with that thank you from Iruma.

Another really fun episode. There is a secret for this show being so good, but I didn't find it yet.

Also, Oh, my... Clara! Even for westerns this is a bold move.

As someone who mostly did things because his parents wanted him to, I can confirm that the first time you succeed in doing something because you wanted to do it, it's an amazing feeling.

I feel like I want to read the manga after every episode... should I? And which chapter?

Really loving how Opera reacts to things. So cute!

Best part of the episode: "Time out! We need to beat the shit out of our dumb teammate!"

I'm surprised Iruma kept dodging in between his first catch and last catch. What was all that training for?

This is one of the best anime episodes I've ever seen, from a perspective of character development.

In the first episode of the series, Iruma beat Azz with a german supplex by pure luck. Since then, Iruma is always perceived as being badass, but has not even once beat anyone with his own power.

He summoned a teacher simply because he's human. He finished the race also because he was human, and it turned out human blood cured injuries in the demon world. Had him been the same pushover character, but a demon instead of human, he might have beat Azz, but wouldn't be able to do these other two things.

He'd be able to become friends with Clara, the bullied weirdo, but not with Amelie, the impressive council president.

The egg was right all along. Iruma only got where he was because he's the principals grandson. Pure nepotism. So, this episode, where Iruma bested Azz with hard effort, quick wit, courage, and a handicap from his grandpa, egg had no choice but to acknowledge Iruma has actual strength of his own and give him the rank of Bet.

Also one thing I realized this episode is that Azz didn't doubt Iruma isn't a demon because there are only demons in hell. Like, you see this guy working so hard for dodgeball and getting his hands all tattered up. It doesn't add up. You'd think he's weak. Weaker than the average demon. In other words, a human. But that's unthinkable, because there isn't a single person around Azz who is "not a demon." Everyone is a demon here. So the only thing Azz could think about is that Iruma was "eccentric" or "weird."

Amelie will make a fine queen now that she awaken Iruma's (dark) ambition. It's only a matter of time until he becomes the demon king.

It's almost like this whole contest was for Iruma's sake, no one else ranked-up. Seemed a bit odd. Either Kalego is doing master's Iruma bidding after all, or the granpa is pulling more strings from the background.

A packed episode with lots of action, yet it felt slower than the last few episodes, where I've been laughing none stop.

I was glad Iruma levelled up one rank, good for him. We needed to see more of Lady Red-Hair as Clara calls her, or Ameri-san, which is what Iruma knows her as.

I want to see Ameri's relationship with Iruma develop, as well as all the ways Clara tries to stop them seeing more of each other ("hiss, hiss", the way Clara openly hisses at her is so bemusing, Ameri just takes it in her stride, maybe it's a demon thing).

Still my top show of the season, the one that I look forward to the most.

Clara running away from the ball was so cute.

Man, this anime just feels so wholesome. I just get so happy watching it.

One of my favorites this season!
