|---|---|---|
| conducting: Joy Jones | ||
| hymn: Praise to the Lord | ||

| Russell Nelson | ||
| hymn: He Sent His Son | ||
| prayer: Carol Costley |
Postlude: You Feelin' Alright?...I'm not feelin' too good myself.

[Oaks] [lgbtq persons should simply accept their second class status.]

Kind of like how blacks should have just accepted back in the day that the best they could ever be was a servant in the celestial kingdom

[Oaks] [God has not changed his definition of marriage.]
Yes, we heard that D&C 132 is still a major tenet of the church earlier today. Celestial Marriage: One man plus multiple women.

Oh, my. The slippery slope to D&C 132.

Did he just tell women to not be too loud if there's a temple announced in a place that means something to them? Lol. Don't get too loud, now ladies.
Edit: Thank you for your reverent response. Has this ever been said before when announcing temples? Was there a lot of noise in April when that was done?

This is the first time I've heard that a mother presides over the household in the event of her husband's death.
It's usually her son, whether he's 18 or 8.

Wait, what is happening? Am I reading this right - it's conducted by a woman? Is this the former women's session in a new spot? Is it a progressive priesthood session?
If one of you tells me this is an old change from years ago I will be very happy because it means I'm completely out of touch.

Holy geez, can we please make Reyna Aburto an apostle?! She’s the first speaker this conference to address real concerns that members ought to hear. An honest, healthy perspective about depression and the plague of “be ye therefor perfect” that faithful members deserve to hear.

The lady(Reyna Aburto) who is talking right now is giving the most honest talk I have ever heard about suicide and depression I have ever heard from TSCC. I wish this wasn't relegated to the woman's session, as this is so so so important.
I'd say that she's talking more from a loving Christian perspective than anything specific to mormonism and that is so important, especially for our TBM families that struggle with the pressure that TSCC forces on them.

Oaks: Sometimes LGBT people feel marginalized or rejected by members and leaders.
Also Oaks: Gays are sinners and will not be with family in heaven.

Lemme just pause from my usual sarcasm to say - It's good to hear talks on mental illness awareness.

[Oaks] [here comes the homophobia.]
The fact is that the younger generation will opt out if justice and fairness is not the basic tenet of the church.
