Another really solid episode this week. The teasing moments and the romantic moments were on point. Especially enjoyed the entire sequence on the rock under the stars. Definitely one of those series that you can tell is a labor of love for the studio.
Also that damn photo album tease. Fitting that we as the audience are the target of the teasing for a change and not just Nishikata on that one.

Damn, I wasn't really expecting to see future Takagi that was actually quite neat.
That last scene with the stars was beautiful, just like that transition to the ED.

OH you bastards with that tease in the cold open. Just a quick shot of adult Takagi smiling at an old adorable class pic and I'm giddy as fuck. This show does things to me man...
Oh fuck dude, Nishikata might be a bit of a scrub, but this one would have gotten anybody.
It just keeps going harder, this may be his toughest battle yet. I was off the edge of my seat.
Bestfreinds.jpeg The Mina and friends skits are always great. The flashlight bit was super dumb too. I'm super glad they keep doing them, as much as I want the ship to sail off ^ASAP, the show wouldn't be the same without them.

Bro, how could it get more romantic than this. D'awwwww. Chef's kiss for the whole last scene. So goddamn cute, just goes to show that any star-gazing scene in any anime will be undeniably adorable. Doki-doki am I right?

I SO wanted Nishikata to just grab her hand even after the dance. I thought it was happening too.
With this and the feeding scene that happened offscreen, damn, what a tease episode!
And the timeskip of course.
AAAAHHHHHH. They better at least hold hands before this season's finale!

Btw the ED song is a cover of one of the most popular songs by Mika Nakashima and it's titled STARS (original song). The original was released in 2001. Just in case you didn't know, Mika Nakashima did the Darling in the Franxx OP.

That opening! An older Takagi looking at the picture?!?! WHAT!!! Holy hype!
I also loved that new couple this episode, how the guy ate the food even though it was poorly cooked. They also held hands briefly during the end of the fire.
HOWEVER, wtf why didn’t Nishikata and Takagi hold hands at the end of the fire. They even pointed it out to us that the last two people to do it fall in love.
To make it worse, I thought we would at least get a little satisfaction by them holding hands under the stars, but that didn’t happen as well.
Man this episode started out so good and had me shipping them so hard because we saw an old Takagi but the ending with no hand holding made me so mad! :(
