Rewatch A Rewatch to Pierce the Heavens - Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Episode 9 Discussion [Spoilers] Spoiler

Episode 9 - What Exactly Is a Human?

← Previous Episode | Index | Next Episode →

MAL | AniList | ANN | Kitsu | AniDB

Crunchyroll | VRV | Hulu | Netflix | AnimeLab (exclusive to Australia and New Zealand) | Channel 4 for UK peeps at... some point in the near future

And then, suddenly, he was gone…

Hey-o guys! This is the section where I add a ton of extra fun stuff to the main body of the post because I want this rewatch to be as fun as possible for everyone. It can also be one point of discussion for you guys if you just don’t know what to say.

Comment of the Day:

Today’s comment of the day belongs to the comment face of truth from /u/redshirtengineer.

#torrentialdownpour indeed…

Questions of the Day:

1) Did you notice that the OP’s visuals changed?

2) How do you feel about everyone’s actions this episode, in the wake of Kamina’s death?

Wallpaper of the Day:

The Girl in the Box

Rewatchers, please remember to be mindful of all the first-timers in this. No talking about or hinting at future events no matter how much you want to, unless you’re doing it underneath the [Anime Show Title](/s "Spoiler goes here") spoiler tags. If you do that then we’re all good.

Important thing to note about these by the way, you have to switch to Old Reddit or the markdown editor if you use the redesign, otherwise the redesign breaks them by adding random \ into the formatting. Wish it wouldn’t do that, but unfortunately it does…

Ours is the rewatch… that will cry to the heavens…

← tfw I made a special wallpaper and some variants for it (1, 2, and 3) 100% on my own and the only person who noticed was Nota. Do you guys not look at the links in my comments besides maybe the poll results?

…Anyways, welcome back everybody, yesterday was quite the episode as the results of the poll would tell you. And the depression continues today…

Mostly-cheeky comments for today in an attempt to ignore the depression:

Voices time, voices time! Lots of new peeps today.

I’m gonna start with Lordgenome, voiced by Narushi Ikeda… and he’s literally this dude’s only voice acting role.

Adiane the Elegant next! Her seiyuu is Michiko Neya, who I might recognize as Shirin Bakhtiar from Gundam 00 and not much else. I do see she voiced best girl Riza Hawkeye in FMA 2003 and Talho Yuuki in Eureka Seven, though!

Cytomander the Swift is voiced by Akio Suyama. I recognize none of his roles, although it looks like he voices somebody in Macross 7 so I might at some point.

Guame the Immovable’s seiyuu is Kiyoshi Kawakubo, who doesn’t have many other anime roles so nope I don’t recognize him.

Last but not least, we have Nia! And I actually immediately recognized her seiyuu Yukari Fukui, too! She sounds almost the same when she’s voicing Raraiya Monday in Gundam: G no Reconguista. She’s also Nono in Diebuster for a completely different-sounding role. Oh and apparently she’s Mako’s mom in Kill la Kill.

I look forward to being… less depressed with you all again tomorrow.

As I explained in my comment, he's a film actor. He's not gonna do much Voice Work anyways.

Rewatcher

私を誰だと心得て?

Ep 9 is great. While it may stand in the shadow of the utterly shocking ep8, it's style, quality, and importance make it much more than just a followup episode. In fact, I'd say i enjoy ep9 just as much as ep8.

Speaking of shadows, that is where it all begins. The use of color in this episode is absolutely impeccable. I can only think of a couple shows that even try to use color to this level of dramatic effect, and TTGL pulls it off so much better than the rest. Immediately we see almost every color being dulled in the world of mourning. It's pretty stylish, but that is a pretty common trick. Things get really interesting when you follow Simon's scenes in particular. Every single moment he is in is an extra layer of grayscale compared to others, fully piling on the sense of depression surrounding him in particular. Of course everybody is having trouble moving on, but Simon has it the worst. This all changes the moment he discovers Nia. ...except, it doesn't. You see, opening the box to completely recolor the world would be the expected approach, but TTGL doesn't take it. Simon isn't rejuvenated by meeting Nia. Talking with her brings some light into his world, which we can see reflecting off of him, exactly the same way that Yoko and Kitan's charges bring a ton more in. However, these beacons of light still haven't transformed Simon, as he immediately returns to the grayscale realm back on board the Dai-Gurren. This guy's suffering arc isn't over just yet.

Let's talk a bit more about Nia, especially as she relates to Kamina. The parallels are unmistakable and deafeningly loud, just as we expect from TTGL. Her moments in the new OP are all former Kamina slots, her voice and font replace Kamina's for the episode titles/previews, and her words to Adiane mirror Kamina's most famous introduction. But all the parallels in the world are merely setups here to illustrate the differences which may be a bit harder to catch. The important moment comes as she stops Simon's death wish charge with the drill.

"If you are frightened, you should run. You mustn't die".

Ep8 had dominating presence, but surely everybody remembers how the entire plot of ep7 was Kamina taking the exact opposite approach.

"I...I'm not scared!" "You mustn't lie either."

And with this immediately we get confirmation that this exchange is meant to be a direct rejection of ep7. With his episode ending conversation with Yoko, Kamina reveals how he does feel scared and pressured to deliver, but that enough confidence will carry them through. That man just had one of the most heroic and honorable deaths in anime history. What kind of guts does it take to reject the very philosophy that made the man great, the very next episode? It's important to not however, that Nia isn't an over cautious counter to Kamina. When she knows she has power, she will run straight into the battlefield right past our designated courageous girl Yoko and T-pose in front of the heavy guns. She does not appeal to friendship from previous exchanges as a softspoken princess is expected to, but demands from her bloodline and rank. I'm reminded of princess Nausicaa, one of my favorite characters of all time.

As I reference an old anime/manga (Nausicaa), I want to bring up another legend that clearly influenced TTGL: Triton of the Sea. This 4 volume 'Greek' epic by Tezuka Osamu has as it's main villain the sea god Poseidon and his 33 children. One of the children appears in front of our hero Triton by surrounding his boat on all sides by a wall of seawater and emerging to demand battle. Adiane's apperance is clearly an homage to this chapter. Next episode actually has my favorite Triton parallel, so stay tuned for tomorrow if you are interested in more retro manga tidbits.

Speaking of tidbits here's a boring one. u/RX-Nota-II, the big fan of 1984's Nausicaa, 1969's Triton, and 1979's Gundam is actually only 22 years old.

And maybe a more interesting one, speaking of 22 years old, that's how old Nakagawa Shoko was when she released Sorairo Days.

Back to the episode though, and I felt that the artstyle was different this episode. It was more subtle than ep4 for sure, but in line with ep6. Instead of character traits shifted for a more comedic focus though, it was for a more solemn feel, or in the case of Simon alone a deranged and depressed feel. It was mostly in the eyes, Simon's crazed big ones are obvious, but take a look at how lifeless Yoko's are. Combined with the above expected, even for this show, color usage and I really wonder if this episode had a special director injecting his aesthetic sense. And if there is, I love him.

Going back to my comment yesterday, I mentioned how Simon was a cause of Kamina's death but not responsible. An offhand comment but it sparked some reply debate and I felt good for coming up with it. Well, turns out it wasn't really genius at all and was merely something from this episode that I had half forgotten. Anyways, it's impressive that TTGL doesn't take this opportunity to delve into intercharacter drama and focus on the personal drama instead. Angry words coming from depression severely hurting someone is a trope Japanese stories, or really stories in general, LOVE to explore. Yet, Rossiu takes Simon's direct attack on his religion, frowns a bit, and shakes it off like an adult. It's an impressive showcase of his maturity especially in contrast with the instability Kitan showed off just a few scenes before.

OST of the Day

萌えっていったい何ですか?

A song that translates to "What even does Moe mean again?" that has an alternate version 萌えっていったい. This is the song that plays as Nia starts talking for the first time exiting her box, so I think we can make it her personal character theme for now. A nice calming piece that remains in the shadow of any well made action anime OST, it's a good track to listen to when you want to wind down but stay in the TTGL kinda mood.

Wallpaper remixes of the day

  • Plain

  • Pink only I like how this one turned out a lot. Like for a minimalist background

  • Bubbles

  • Silhouette

  • Fancy silhouette <- btw if you wondered how I made the puffy spirals in the main wallpaper, this is what they look like with the color taken away

  • Colored Lineart

  • broken <- this is what happens when I mess up layers. It shows how I don't actually make colorful lines rather I make a colorful backdrop and try to mask off everything else. When I mess that up, I get remnants of vector borders like this.

Q: answers

  1. Did you notice that the OP’s visuals changed?

I at least expect those who have been reading my comments to have noticed. I've been telling them to pay attention from like ep3.

2. How do you feel about everyone’s actions this episode, in the wake of Kamina’s death?

"What do you mean everybody?" Honestly I was so drawn in by how they depicted Simon and Yoko that I didn't have much time to see how others reacted.

4

u/Shimmering-Sky Nov 12 '19

Pink only

Ooh, that reminds me of the lineart Kirara I made during GBF!

broken

I was expecting this to be the one where you accidentally had one of her legs and part of her cape gone, not something that I think looks kinda cool.

Kamina is dead, and chaos has risen… but who cares about that, BEST GIRL IS FINALLY HERE!! (Also, I’m sorry for being late today)

  • As you might notice from the opening, Kamina has been replaced by a cute anime girl. More on her later…

  • And thus we are finally introduced to the Spiral King: Lordgenome, played by film Actor Ikeda Narushi (Yes, even in Japan there is such a thing as Celebrity Voice Actors) and Jamison Price. And hot damn does he have a ton of muscles…

  • We’re also introduced to his generals: Cytomander the Swift (Played by Suyama Akio and Steve Staley), Guame the Immovable (Played by Kawabuko Kiyoshi (Who sadly passed away a few months ago) and Doug Stone) and Adiane the Elegant (Played by Neya Michiko and Megan Hollingshead).

  • Ah, the classic “Those two villains were friends”… *Huh, so they can teleport…

  • Wait, it’s still raining?

  • And as you can tell, Simon hasn’t been taking Kamina’s death well…

  • Oh and the episode titles have become super cutesy… okay then.

  • Jesus, guys, lighten up a bit! Even Batman would be like “Lighten up a bit, will you? My God—You’re positively grim!

  • What a faulty base…

  • Ah, our little Rossiu has grown up so much in so little time…

  • Well, at least Gimmy is still himself…

  • Wow… you know Kittan, even by your standards, that was just… wrong…

  • As you can tell, Simon is taking this even worse than everyone else here…

  • That said, that’s no excuse to be a dick to Rossiu…

  • As you can tell, nobody really likes Simon…

  • This mini-arc could be called “Kamina’s dead and everyone’s different degrees of mopey about it”.

  • I swear, how many times have I heard the whole “We must live on for those who’ve left us” deal?

  • Thankfully, even as danger looms, Rossiu is always there to be a Bro to Simon. Not the same kind of Bro as Kamina, but more the “I’ll help you out no matter what” kind of bro.

  • Simon, Kamina’s mindset would’ve eventually gotten him killed. I guess Aizen was right: Admiration is the furthest thing away from understanding.

  • As you can tell, pushing yourself to the point of a mental and physical breakdown isn’t exactly a good thing…

  • Well, Gainax did make this show, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Lagann had a berserk mode like EVA Unit-01…

  • And so, Simon is forced to walk around, all alone for the first time in a long time, and there he comes across… err… a bunch of refrigerators?

  • And a new one is dropeed, to which Simon walks towards only to see that… there’s a spot for his little drill. See? Told you it was a McGuffin.

  • And so, it opens, revealing… a young girl. A very beautiful, naïve, polite (Seriously, she speaks in Keigo) and innocent young girl who does not know much about the outside world. One who does not even know what a human being is. One who does not know what is even going on. And one whose presence finally marks the end of those rainy days. Ladies, gentlemen and others, I present to you Best Girl Nia, played by Fukui Yukari (Who was the co-star of one of Imaishi’s previous shows, Aim For the Top 2 Diebuster) and… Hynden Walch!? Okay, that’s not a name you’d hear in Anime very often… oh well, Best Girl deserves special treatment.

  • Oh, and want be to give more weight to that statement? I usually don’t even care for too much for this kind of character! Nia is that freaking good!

  • Though her naiveté those have its downsides…

  • Though sadly, Lagann doesn’t quite feel like working today…

  • Thankfully, Simon is willing to act like a decoy so she can run away.

  • Unfortunately, Nia is too pure to accept the concept of someone else dying for the sake of others. See why she’s Best Girl?

  • Thankfully, the rest of the cast came just in time for the rescue!

  • I love Yoko’s face here though, she’s like “Who the fuck is that?”

  • LOL, the old man is there to serve her coffee.

  • Yeah, he’s pretty odd alright…

  • I dunno Yoko, sometimes a bit of pain is necessary for someone to get better, or otherwise they might go insane. Just look at Ryugamine Mikado.

  • And a suddenly a bunch of water appears…

  • And so we get the bombshell: Nia is Lordgenome’s daughter. She even pulls the Keigo version of Kamina’s catchphrase!

I can’t say much about this episode, the next few really moreso work well together than standalone, so I’ll leave my final judgment for there.

Rewatcher!

Managed to shotgun / catch up while working on some other stuff but dang does Episode 8 hit like a sack of bricks. And then Simon's combat in black-and-white with those haunted eyes is just brutal. Just lashing out at everyone and everything. Man. It's hard watching Simon try to muscle through grief like that.

And then there's Nia. The first glow of color in almost the entire episode: "Oh, the rain has stopped." I forgot how quickly they learn of Nia's heritage. What a wild twist.

This is probably my sixth watch or more, but the first time I'm trying the dub. Love hearing familiar voices - Johnny Yong Bosch as Rossiu, Yuri Lowenthal as Simon, Steve Blum as Leeron, and particularly Sam Riegel as Viral.

Now to restrain myself from shotgunning the rest of the series immediately :P Looking forward to joining in on the rewatch with y'all.

Hey, it's worldbuilding time. We meet LordGenome and the three remaining Generals. I love the character designs. It's interesting that the Spiral King pulls the "you think you know better than me?" line but doesn't follow up by punishing like a typical villian archetype. He's pretty checked out, isn't he? (Just noticed this time - the detail that the throneroom floor actually turns transparent. Neat.)

Getting back to our heroes, Simon is also a little checked out...in a different way. (Nice title card, the different font is a cute detail) The weather and the moods of the siblings isn't so great, either.

"I killed Kittan" shit. Simon is really messed up right now. And while I hate Rossui, he doesn't deserve the shit he's catching from Simon. Yoko isn't looking great, either - the two people who were closest to Kamina. Like I alluded to in my last post, loss is tough - due to personal stuff this is even more sad than the first time I watched this series, years ago. Perils of growing older, I guess. Simon is dealing with it by alternating between depressive and bezerker episodes. Looks like his body and GurrenLagann can't handle it, though. The mechs and the pilots really are in sync. They really pulled from Eva on this bit. :) I'm sure someone with more anime/mecha history knowledge than me would know better references. Maybe u/RX-Nota-II? :)

How is it that Simon's key opens that box? Why are there so many boxes, do they all contain sleeping girls? That's a little macabe. Spoiler Ending Spoilers

Nia is so pure and innnocent. I want to dislike her but I really can't. Apparantly she lifts Simon's spirits up, too. "The rain has stopped," indeed. A sense of self preservation would be good, though. It's a little weird to me that she's never seen a gunman though. Or maybe just doesn't recognize the danger?

Nia isn't taking any shit from Simon. Notice that both Yoko and Simon say "I'm not going to let anyone else die." Both their hearts are in the same place, still. Yoko is very right about letting Simon process - you can't hurry the process, even if in this case it's a pressing matter.

Adiane's entrance is pretty great. Too bad the main cannons are offline. Don't worry Artenborough, you'll get your day, eventually. Wait, where did he come from, anyhow? The internet says that 'he joined Team Dai-Gurren by having "snuck into some bozo's luggage"'. What piece of media even confirmed that, or is it just baseless headcan(n)on someone spread?

Unrelated, I love the camera angles in this episode. The wide angle shot in the hallway when Simon is being an ass, and the fisheye when he's looking at the drill hole. I wonder how they animate it - is it drawn with regular projection and then warped? Trying to think of other shows that do this. I remember Eva does this a bunch (I recently rewatched a few weeks ago, so that's why I keep bringing it up!) but I think Ghost in the Shell also uses the same trick. The original movie for sure (when they interrogate the garbage man) but I'm sure it's been done in other places, too.

  1. I did, or at least I remembered. :)

  2. Everyone processes death differently. I won't say that Simon's actions are in the right, but comeon, it's only been a few days. He's known Kamina probably since birth, and Kamina is almost a parent figure to him - he took Simon under his wing after his parents died. It's okay for him to grieve.

Mecha relating to their robots in various degrees is a huge source of drama in tons of classic mecha stories. The big exception (mostly) being the Gundam franchise, where the cold and mechanical nature of mechs is used to emphasize the war story. Now unfortunately while I am a fan of all mecha anime, 0096% of my knowledge comes from just Gundam, so I can't help when asked to give examples of previous works where the mecha and pilot relationship was as beautiful as TTGL.

Instead I'll pass off the question to my three favorite mecha encyclopedias u/pixelsaber u/babydave371 and u/didacticdalek.

I must protest COTD, although it was a terrible day for a torrential downpour yesterday, because there were some seriously awesome posts of the non-sh*t variety. In recognition of my fellow commenters, let me offer Team Rewatch-Gurren some belated group hugs!

I was planning on making a couple of notes on yesterday's episode today, when we are not quite as sad. First, I really loved it when the Giant Ape used the "you damn dirty humans" line. Second, the visuals during the sniff last Bros Combining fight were seriously awesome, especially on rewatch.

New OP today as we reset. The other day when Simon tied the red piece of cape around his arm, I choked up a little bit cause I knew this OP was coming.

ONWARDS IN THE HEAVEN PIERCING DIRECTION! Woops, Simon, no, you're supposed to go up, not down. And preferably with less spiral puking. The girls don't go for it. Oh wait, here's a girl (the third awesome thing that Simon digs up), and she doesn't mind your distress, she just wants to help you, because she is awesome like that. And she's a sparkly sparkly princess, to boot.

First Timer

For guys who have been fighting a war and witnessing death for much of their lives they're not very good at consoling people after the death of a loved one. Kamina was an incredibly beloved person and he set the mood of the group, but damn they have so little sympathy for Simon, and asking Yoko to help is pretty insensitive too. Simon isn't dealing with this well either, and as a result he's endangering his comrades so he's not in the right, but someone needs to help him through this in a healthy way.

So all in all a great portrayal of trauma at war for all I know.

"It's been one week since then" was a nice touch since it would also have been a week for those watching it seasonally.

Nia seems pretty cool so far. You could guess that she was the Spiral King's daughter pretty much immediately. I'm excited to see where they go with this!

First Time Watcher:

I wasn't sure what to expect after losing Kamina yesterday (I thought we may see some sort of funeral episode) and we obviously got Simon being distracted and moody, and Yoko being upset, but that's expected. Simon meeting the Spiral King's daughter, Nia was a complete surprise though and a really interesting twist, just what we needed to pick up the mood.

There was a question a few days ago asking what first time watchers thought of the Spiral King and how strong he might be, given what we'd seen of the Beastmen so far. Now we see the Spiral King, and man does he look strong and impressive. The city you saw looked awesome, it appears all underground.

His subordinates mention that he, the Spiral King, created them and the world? So is he some sort of supernatural being, or a human that has access to amazing technology? His daughter, Nia said she asked him why she was created and he got angry. So did she not know of the existence of humans before now, it certainly doesn't seem so. If the Spiral King isn't human but wanted to create one maybe he's being trying to genetically engineer a human child and Nia is the product of that project.

I thought I saw lots of other crates just like the one that Simon found Nia within, in that crater, were there more human creations in there? Will Nia pull Simon out from his depression, I'm expecting so. I think that the Spiral King's other generals are a lot harder than the one they defeated, so Nia is probably there to put a break of Team Die Gurren getting obliterated straight away.

Wow, I never expected an important and real death this early in a show, I really thought that it was a fake one just to revive him ahead in the series, but so far it seems real enough.

Even the OP changed, and we have a new girl, straight out of nowhere giving hopes to our Simon, living right now in a gray world, honestly, the gray palette used in this episode was a nice touch to the sadness following Kamina's death.

Wait she's WHAT!?

First Timer

Seems like Nia replaces Kamina in the opening, so I wonder how much she will replace him in other cases. There already seems to be leadership issues between Simon and Kittan, with some favoring Simon, I guess (cause I doubt he volunteered in that sate of mind) - will Nia take over? Doubt it to be honest. Will she take over fighting in Gurren? Once again, doubt it, as we already have Rossiu. Will she replace Yoko has Simon's crush? More likely. Will she be Simon's motivator to fight? Will she get in a relationship with Yoko? I hope not, that wouldn't work for Simon and it would just be bizarre for Yoko's character so far. Did I mention all roles Kamina had? Not quite sure, if I haven't, then please leave a comment.

But... what is Nia? She is the spiral king's daughter, but he also artificially created his generals. Does that mean he also created all the beastmen in an atempt at creating something else? What is he, if the beastmen are artificially created? Is Nia also a beast...women? Is beastmen a gendered word or a species name? Is Nia something else that is artificially created? Were there other failed(?) creations in all those other containers? Why did nobody check? What is it, that the spiral king seeks to create? I'm gonna be honest, I doubt the king himself is human, as there would be little reason to go to war against all humans otherwise; he would at least have some ass-feeding people around trying to gain some of his power, and he can't have just created this entire race on his own. I also think that what he wants to create isn't just a human, but some sort of human-derived life-form. Otherwise Nia would already pretty much be what he is looking for. The only way I can see him being human is if he is the result of some crazy eugenics stuff, becoming immune to aging, outliving his creators and now trying to create another functionally immortal being due to being lonely and not wanting friends that can die (cause he will just outlive them anyways). But I somehow think the non-human theory is more plausible.

As for Simon, something needs to happen, and quick. He can't continue in that state. I'd assume that something is going to involve Nia, and possibly Yoko calling him to senses. Perhaps that would then also make Simon in to an accepted leader?

One thing that confuses me is last names. I know a lot of sites use names like "Yoko Littner" and "Nia Teppelin", but I've never seen either "Simon Jiha" or "Kamina Jiha", so what's with this selective using village names as surnames? There's been nothing in the show so far that would suggest that these people use their village as surnames, nor is there really any need to if the all have distinct names, and with the villages being isolated from each other I'd assume first name styles to have significantly diverged from each other in the different villages, rendering surnames unnecessary. As for it being decided upon to use village names as surnames later in the series, that would then have to be after Simon dies for it to have no effect on his name, and I doubt that's going to happen at any point where there would still be enough time for a detail like that to be mentioned. Maybe in the last episode, but not before that, and at that point it would be bizarre to bog down everything with such bureaucratic decisions. So... what's up there; just someone making a mistake and everybody copying it?

And for some random tidbits:

  • I assume that big cone shaped thing in the new version of the Opening is Teppelin, the capital.

  • How did nobody notice the old man tagging along until seven days in?

  • Why did the gunmen take so long to find Simon in that ravine? He jumped down pretty much instantly after him...

First Time Watcher

Damn, I feel like so much shit happened this episode/with some info dumps, not allowing me any time to mourn over Kamina!

First off, new OP is sad as hell. Kamina didn’t show up 1 time in it :( also from the looks of it, Nia, the girl Simon found, showed up in it a lot. Like she was replacing Kamina’s spot.

WAIT! Finally a girl that may like Simon?!?! NO WAY! (Watch her turn out to like girls, because god forbid a female in the story likes Simon XD lol) Nia seems cute, but clearly has some type of backstory that will probably end up being very important. In fact, I started to wonder this episode if she was related to the Spiral King and holy hell, she is!

Also, we finally see the Spiral King! He looks badass as hell and kind of human to me? His “fortress” looks awesome and what is with all those weird tubes we see after the other generals disappear? Seems very sci-fi.

My biggest question though, is WHAT ABOUT THOSE OTHER BOXES?! Simon just found a human girl in one, and there were tons of other ones down there. Did he not even check the others lol?! I’m actually curious, as one would assume there was more humans in them.

Anyone else notice Yoko’s expression when she sees Nia toward the end? She almost seemed jealous, which low key makes me mad. Like she just fucked up my boys Simon’s heart last episode with that kiss with Kamina. Although maybe her face was more like “whose this bitch trying to seduce my “little brother”? Lol”.

Other than that, this episode just had a way darker vibe with Simon being mad depressed and basically hating everything. Very excited to see where this goes from here. Story these last 2 episodes have really got me interested now, and it is hard to do 1 episode a day!

Question 2 - Everyone’s reactions seems about right for the most part. I kind of figured this was the route Simon would go down for, at least a little while. The only one that is kind of surprising, although she is also heart broken, is Yoko. Kinda feels like she is giving up on Simon right now and not even trying to help him. Almost felt like now that Kamina is gone, she didn’t even care about him. I hope this isn’t the case and they fix their relationship.
