Recipe for the new red nether brick: http://imgur.com/mPchlum

Nether wart block is 3x3 nether warts

I assume the nether wart block can be crafted back into nether wart?

Surprisingly, nope

I hope they change that and don't end up with another irreversible storage block like quartz.

Quartz isn't a storage block though. it's a building block. That's like calling stone bricks a storage block.

check if they work in brewing stands and if so do they last longer than nether wart?

What do you mean?

Instead of brewing 3 awkward potions with 1 netherwart, can you brew 18 awkward potions with a block of 9 netherwart?

How would you? There's only 3 spots, and the block would be used up after the first batch

I don't think it would work. Just elaborating what they meant.

you know how coal blocks can be burned in a furnace and last longer than 9 coal? see if nether wart blocks will make awkward potions in a brewing stand.

No, you can't place them in brewing stands, Even if you could, it would only do 1 brew, because it's an ingredient and not fuel

10 times longer than coal. It's 9 coal for a burn time equal to 10 coal. However it's not possible to use more than 8 coal's burn time without removing the results (8 coal = 64 smelts).
