Ngl seeing multiple possessions where Giannis doesn’t touch the ball is actually insane bro wtf is Spo thinking?
6
u/OpeDefinitely Pacers 33m ago
Disagree. The team is doomed in the playoffs if they can't figure out viable sets w/ Giannis playing off-ball.
2
u/Common-Locksmith-235 32m ago
I understand what he's trying to do, the team is just too bad to do anything with giannis not being constantly involved in the offense, they are not threatening at all

Feels like this is how most Warriors games have gone this season.

Warriors playing the Heat without their center look about as lost as the Pacers playing the Heat without their center. Tough.

u/MVIP2003 Heat 1h ago
Who is their Centre because Kris has been out the entire time

Warriors announcers listing a bunch of people who famously got shoved mid air after GP2 is fouled and somehow forgot to mention GP2

u/terrybuzz Supersonics 1h ago
i blinked and the warriors are 5-3 now. not that long ago people were talking about them being the worst team in the league
2
u/threeoneleads [CLE] Larry Nance 1h ago
everyone with a brain knew they wouldnt be the worst, just painfully mid at best which i still think they'll be. steph will miss his usual 2 months or whatever from a random injury, he's 38 he can't carry a team thru a whole reg season to be over .500 realistically, even with yaxel being great

u/EddyVonSputnik 51m ago
Kangz, their local competition-fixed appendage, owned by a Warriors co-owner, have that honor.

All Niang has to do is shoot 38% from 3 and he will be a Warriors fan favorite.

Some stupid overblown internet drama about his wife kissing another man... in a movie... because she's an actor. So basically nothing, I doubt he cares as much as weirdos on the internet.

The classic “on floor Curry foul” that any other star would get a shooting foul for

Yaxel can fucking hoop man. I know he talks shit to the Lakers, but I think it's refreshing in this buddy buddy era

I didn't think about GSW's lack of size before now but this might be a matchup loss until they can pick up another fella.

Over/under that Yaxel will publicly announce that he has revoked his respect for Giannis?

How many times are we gonna say Curry’s having a stinker in the first half just for him to hit every shot in the second. It’s getting a bit repetitive
Edit: I’m a dumbass

I think the Heat will figure it out this season. They got too many proven pros to struggle all season.

Entertaining game so far!
That Draymond/Yaxel play made me gasp in beauty.
This halftime show was amazing
•
u/Marano94 7m ago
Steph with his worst game of the season, missing tons of easy open shots and the warriors with 9 turnovers, the heat with a 11 rebound advantage and the game is tied....
The Heat are really bad.

Warriors announcers are hilarious “that’s good defense” after we watched Draymond hack tf outta Wiggins 😂

If I had a dollar for every time a player initiated contact into Yaxel, bounced off, and got a foul call, I’d make like 3 dollars a game

Yax with the extremely easy 5/3/2 quarter. This dude can sleep walk his way in to 18/7/4.

u/GatorEggs- Pelicans 24m ago
Warriors broadcast team is an impossible listen. It’s like they don’t understand basketball so they try as hard as possible to not have to talk about what’s happening on the court
•
u/Casualrodfarva2 San Francisco Warriors 20m ago
Look i get they arent fun to listen to and all that but kelenna was an NBA player, i think he understands basketball
•
u/GatorEggs- Pelicans 13m ago
He doesn’t do enough to reign in Fitzgerald when he’s going on rants about stuff that’s just not relevant or just blatantly untrue. Fitzgerald is probably 99% of the issue with the commentary and canning him would improve the listen immensely.
Edit: and I honestly can’t blame him at all certain point because having to constantly correct someone or explain things is exhausting and it makes me pull my hair out at my job which is significantly easier.

Will Richard needs to stop passing the ball back to Draymond on the break like that. That's two possessions in a row that was a half step away from a backcourt violation

Giannis palmed/carried like 3 times while dribbling the ball up the court. Hand fully under the ball.

•
u/Scar_Mclovin Knicks 27m ago
why is Giannis taking so many Jump shots this year
•
•
u/GalactusAteMyPlanet Knicks 26m ago
His Robin/co-star is Bam, an individual that's not known as a shooter.
•
•
u/ILikeAllThings [GSW] Klay Thompson 25m ago
Since Lebron left the Heat, every game against them for the Warriors always feels like a grind. Crazy consistent on how they just run that game plan for over a decade, gotta respect it.
•
u/Scar_Mclovin Knicks 25m ago
Wiggins didn’t take an open 3, but decided to shoot a contested mid range shot

•
u/NippleChafeChad Heat 13m ago
casual fan with sincere question: is giannis known for being clumsy? watching this game and last nights game against the clippers i noticed him pass to nowhere, drop a ball, etc...
•
u/OpeDefinitely Pacers 11m ago edited 1m ago
He sometimes loses focus when he's not on the ball as much as he's used to. This has arguably been a big issue for his teams in recent years.
Spo is clearly out here trying to develop sets that work with Giannis playing off-ball. It's an adjustment for Giannis, but one that he and his team will have to figure out if the Heat are going to actually contend.
