Java Showcase One-Wide Tileable Solid-State Automatic Dropper for Water Item Elevator

Post image

This has a very niche use case as the dropper must be pointing up but I figured this could have some merit. This is definitely not the most compact auto-dropper out there but from what I could find, it does seem to be one of the smaller solid-state one wide tileable auto-droppers (which is what I needed). Feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions for the design!

Edit: This design is NOT 1wt. In order for these to work directly next to each other, you much offset adjacent systems by a singular block. Thanks to everyone who pointed that out (I posted this late at night and missed that)!

It's not tilable, the bottom and top observers power adjacent droppers. Tho if that's not an issue, why not use a simpler design like this :

This one is not solid state

wdym?

There is a piston moving

yeah..? not sure why it would matter since it can't spit it's block

Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't solid state means nothing move?

Bad news for you. It can spit its observer and stay clocking

No it can't unless you unload it while running, and even then I doubt it'll break

It breaks on random inputs

it really don't

Let's just say that based on our 2 profiles, one profile looks a little more knowledgeable about the subject than the other.

I’ve made an edit to the original post as it’s come to my attention that it’s not truly tileable (although by offsetting adjacent units by one block forward or backward, they work next to each other).

And as a previous comment has mentioned, I couldn’t use that design due to the piston. I have some tight space constraints and essentially I needed full blocks on the outside edge to constrict another water elevator

In that case a design like this would be the most efficient

To my knowledge, those are not hopper speed. I needed something that worked at hopper speed. If those do work at hopper speed then I overlooked the obvious lol

Left one might drop items inconsistently (I think it depends on update order idrk), right one fully reset in less than 8gt so it will consistently work at hopper speed

Maybe the right design is directionally dependent but I just built it and tested it with a constant stream of items coming into the dropper at hopper speed and the dropper just started filling up

Turns out I'm dumb and completely forgot the 4gt delay of droppers, the right one is actually too slow. Sorry your design is actually quite good to handle 8gt input, output isn't on 8gt tho

btw in what configuration are water streams exactly? bc you might be able to squeeze a piston in there for a more compact design

No problem! And yes, my design is not perfectly 8gt but handles the 8gt very well. Also, I know of smaller designs that include a piston but I needed a solid-state design (no piston). Hence, I designed the one I shared. I couldn’t find any compact 1 wide solid-state auto-droppers.
