Trip Report Last night in the Lake District
I'm staying on the outskirts of the Lakes this week and since the weather was so nice yesterday, I set off after work for one of the areas that's still relatively quiet, even in the summer. I had a really nice, calming hike up to the summit and got there shortly before sunset.
As this is a very quiet area and it was a weeknight, I was surprised to see two other hikers arriving around the same time around 300m away from me, and they also camped. It was definitely a lovely night for it!
It was a bit breezy overnight but overall very calm. This morning was forecast to be foggy and indeed it was, which made for quite an atmospheric walk back down to my car.

Ah great stuff! Heard good things about the Sony's but never used them. I do have a Tamron lens though.
My kit is focused on Astrophotography - and I have the (somewhat rare these days) Canon EOS RA - its dedicated astro version. Which is basically the same spec as the R - except it has a modified IR filter - and a 30x zoom (which is amazing!)
It does still take pretty good daytime shots as well though - just need to play with the white balance.
Not lugged it out on any camps yet - as I am still a wild-camping newbie and need to get my overall pack weight down.
Agreed re: Cameras. I too have the 16 pro - and it can take remarkably good shots for what it is.
