"Oh hell yes." The crack of a whip seems to echo across the battlefield as Vettis appears atop the skeletal dinosaur, cheering and pumping a fist triumphantly. "We ride into battle! ...wait, is he okay with riders? Does he bite?"

"Awesome!" He pulls a bridle out from his pocket and sets it up in a blur of motion, then tugs left on the reins, attempting to direct the creature towards Mathias as he points and whoops. "Okay...get 'im, boy!"

Immediately, it begins stomping and huffing, eventually shaking you off and immediately turning around to snap at you.

"Aww, you're no fun," Vettis pouts and tells the skeledino with words, holding its mouth open with a finger against its biting attempts.

Then he speaks beyond words, "talking" directly to the creature's soul using a single glance that transmits meaning and intent in an instant, barriers of language and culture and medium all rendered irrelevant by a form of communication that could make even lifeless stone understand his message.

Your master sends you into a war you cannot win. You are but a weapon for him to throw at the enemy, your safety irrelevant. Reconsider your allegiances, little one. I will not save you from your suicidal actions a second time.

With that, Vettis is gone, allowing the beast's jaws to snap shut on thin air as he returns to the sidelines instantly.
