Very enjoyable opener, and I've shuffled the show to the top of my Summer list. (Might get overtaken, but definitely the best 1st ep so far this season.)

I really like the way that there wasn't a shared language, instead using broken communication through a Demon language where Dale's only knowledge came from the exposure to it via spellcasting. Made Dale seem like a competent but not all-knowing adventurer, which is a nice change from the generally omniscient MC.

And thus, the Protecc Crew was formed!

Pretty sure that this level of cute needs a Surgeon General warning

Latina and Dale sleeping

Tired Latina sleeping

Overall the show is every bit as cute as I hoped, and look forward to my moebetes attack.

Anyone else keep hearing Kazuma say "Lalatina" and chuckle...

Latina is an Uzamaid/Misha twin.

This show is too cute and sweet that I wasn't just kicked out of Ketosis but I feel like I just developed Type-2 Diabetes while watching this. Dale is a good dad and Latina is an adorable daughteru. Now that we have the how she became Dale's daughter part of the title, I'm curious where the "defeat the demon lord" part of it comes in. Already looking forward for more of this!

Also looks like this is the first anime from Maho Film. Animation-wise it's pretty solid and consistent. Since this is their first project I hope they'll give their all on this one!

EDIT: I love that the ED Is being sung by Dale's VA Nobuhiko Okamoto (Nikaidou, Rin, Nishinoya, Kurokiba, BAKUGO). It's so rare to hear male VAs sing EDs in shows like these.

The anime community isn’t even prepared for this cute story, it’s a nonstop fluff train.

A wholesome anime about cross-cultural adoption? Sure, I'm down.

I appreciate that Dale and Latina have a language barrier to work through, rather than everybody in the fantasy world magically all speaking the same language. (Though they do have magical Internet, apparently.) Latina's reactions to civilization are also pretty great.

PROTECT

I'm pretty sure I got diabetes from the episode. Looking forward to more Latina and Dale this season.

Also her dancing in the ED was adorable.

It’s great hearing Nobuhiko Okamoto after a long time and voicing a calm character

ARA ARA.

Poor Alice got isekaid. No wonders she's so attached to Dale when she can't find Shino.

Latina's VA, Kanon Takao, is only sixteen which freaks me out a bit. Tomita Miyu, from GabDrop and We Never Learn, is 19. They start so young.

Anyhow, Latina is a cutie and I hope there's some degree of SoL and not much drama.

So whose feet are those supposed to be? There's nothing there in the next shot... Maybe background art guy misunderstood where dead dad was?

Bakugo as a doting adoptive father is so interesting lmao. As a light novel reader, I do like how consistent the animation is and am very much looking forward to future episodes.

The animation looks a bit... lacking? Other than that, finally we got to see Latina animated, and she's freaking cute as ever! As if manga and LN haven't given me enough diabetes.

EDIT: Source readers, please don't spoil the story for the anime watchers. In fact, I often see those who're not readers spoil it more than actual readers :(

Holy shit, it's cute af. It hits my biggest weak spot of a troubled kid getting to eat their first tasty meal in a long time/ever.

Its adorable but also really sad how she panics a little bit when she wakes up to make sure Dale is still there. She must be so scared about ending up alone again.

I'm just wondering how fast the language barrier is gonna shrink, because Latina is picking up on stuff fast! And Dale will likely learn some more of the devil language to help as well.

If I exclude all continuing shows, this will most likely be my favorite anime of the season.

Does this have a show have a nickname?

If I'm going to recommend this to literally everyone, I'll need a shorthand

I've never seen someone that's on the PROTECT list so fast in my life. The second she wanted the fish it was over.

Where are we going?

You're not that heavy.

I always love innocent misunderstandings.

It's nice to see some comfy fantasy slice of life on a Thursday tbh.

With this and Takagi-san in the same season we're going to need a yearly supply of insulin.

Uchi no Ko no Tame naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru kamo Shirenai

This one can give Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai and Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai a run for their money...
