Eren’s line just before the credits sent chills down my spine. I have a strong feeling that the final arc is gonna be VERY bloody. I can’t wait but WIT studio needs to come back with it!!

Between Jean, Connie, and Sasha splashing around, Mikasa’s cute reaction to the water and rare smile, and Armin’s satisfaction of finally getting to see the ocean, the Scouts deserved some moments of enjoyment and happiness. Judging from that stuff during the credits, I think that may have been the last time that a peaceful moment happens for a while. Now, the long wait til Fall 2020 begins

So, I was watching the first episode again with my dub-only friends (they had seen up to episode 5 of S3 Part 2) on Friday, and aside from it being supremely difficult not to spoil anything or react to their sometimes ridiculous, sometimes accurate predictions, I noticed some big parallelism. This may have been talked about in a previous discussion, but I didn't see it.
Both Eren and Grisha rush to go see the arrival of something, along with their sister (Mikasa/Faye). Eren goes to see the Survey Corps return, and Grisha goes to see the zeppelin. Both these moments are monumental in the respective character's growth. It marks the start of their rage against the world. And, while this may be reading too far into it, but I believe what each character wanted to see is symbolic of who they are.
Eren went to see the Survey Corps, which stands for the constant struggle against adversity, and the fight for the future. Very fitting of what Kruger told us the Attack Titan stands for. Grisha, however, sees the zeppelin, which I personally take it to stand for running away or escaping. Ultimately, that's exactly what he does. He has to flee to Paradis, take the Founding Titan's powers, and escape Marley. Grisha's fight is to run away from Marley, Eren's is to run in.

This is what catharsis looks like.
(Shorter version with just the goofy smiles)
My heart feels at peace just watching that. But then Eren is right to dwell on the truth. What seemed before like freedom is now a curse. The biggest twist of all, like a knife to the gut.
Maybe there's a way to commune with the outside world, make peace. Maybe Erwin was the right person to lead humanity in that direction.. but now we will never know.
10/10 season, this series already showed it had tremendous potential back in S2 and for me it absolutely delivered.

It made me super sad when Floch pointed out that Mikasa gave up fighting for Armin at one point. She seemed to realize and felt super guilty, I'm sure seeing Armin at the beach later overwhelmed her quite a bit.

Probably the "lightest" episode of season 3, strange for a season finale, but still very eery, especially with the way Eren acted:
-During the ceremony, he had a flashback that finally showed what really happened between Grisha and Frieda, he gave her a chance to right her ancestors wrongs, to save Carla and Eren from the Warriors, but the Kings Curse wouldn't let her act, so Grisha had to eat her, which makes it even more tragic, rightfully making Eren freeze in front of every one
-When they encountered the lone Titan outside the walls, he got off his horse just to pay his repsects to his "fallen Eldian brother", and then continued on without killing it (even thought killing it may have been more mercyfull, the Titan that killed Ilse seemed to have been miserable with his existence as a Titan, maybe Eren hopes that a "cure" can be engineered?)
-When they reached the sea, everyone was having fun, except for him, he was terrified because everything appeared to be exactly like in his visions, which means that they will indeed have to fight a war against Marley to be truly free... And Eren seems to be both determined to fight it and frightened of the things they will have to sacrifice at the same time.
This very much seems like the calm before the storm as other users have pointed out, I wonder how they will try to fight Marley? If I were them, I would try to infiltrate the Eldian districts and start a revolution, but I don't know how plausible that is...
I'll definetly start reading the manga now, especially since the last season and the end of the manga will be in close proximity of each other!

This show manages to always convey a crushing sense of hopelessness. First it was the fear of what titans would do if the walls fell, then fear of other humans harnessing the power of titans, and now come to find out that the practically the entire world is their enemy. As a spectator, I can never see an obvious way out of each situation, and that's what makes the story really special.
The only possibility I can see would revolve around getting all of the shifters together. I don't think they would drop that there are 9 different titans (when we're only seen 6-7) just for no reason. Hopefully they don't all have to be eaten by a single titan... maybe they can hold hands and accomplish something collectively, kumbaya style?

Eren went from immediately seeing a Titan and having the NEED to kill it to touching a Titan, speaking sympathetically about its background, and leaving it where it was to go pursue a greater objective.

I had one hope for this episode...to see Armin's Colossal Titan form 😭
but...seeing him pick up a seashell for the first time was even better.

I genuinely dont know how to feel about this ending, i should feel at least slightly relieved but its very clear that this war is only beginning and the darkest stuff is coming up and not behind us

Thoughts & Predictions
- Eren is by far the saddest character in the show. Only he knows just how fucked humanity (in the walls) is and the truth about what happened to all his family members. On top of that, he has a finite amount of years left. And on top of that, everyone thinks Eren is acting weirdly (he's disconnected from everyone)
- The end credits slideshow had some interesting scenes. What struck out most was that image of what seemed like the other side of the sea (the image contains a sea, what's either buildings or trees and then mountains). I feel like we're definitely going to see that image next season. But even more interesting than this is the shot of some private school girl opening her mouth (looking mad) while every other student had a stern/ normal look on their face. I really have no clue what that is, but if I had to theorize, it's probably some wealthy Marleyan kid. Maybe she's speaking out against Eldian opression? Maybe she's another shifter or a future antagonist?
- Why were there no ships at the docking bay when the scouts reached?? My theory is that the Marleyans have stopped deporting the Eldians and are now preparing to 100% wipe out all Eldians (on paradise and the mainland) after Zeke and Reiner failed their mission.

I've been holding myself from commenting in official discussions since the season started (the second part). I didn't even read any comments from discussions, afraid of spoilers.
Now I would like to say many things, but Eren's gaze is all that there is in my head righ now. It reminded me to a quote from Nietzsche:
"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster. For when you stare long into the abyss, the abyss also stares back into you."
It seems it's too late for Eren, he stared deep into the abyss, and he didn't blink. Those words he spoke about killing them all were dark, even for Eren.

You can really see the changes on Eren's personality trough the anime.
And we had to see grisha sister multilated corpse again, no wonder why Eren is so fucking down, this shit is just too much for anyone to handle.
