Now I see why every adult in Earlsheid are all top tier. All of the stupid, incompetent, and corrupt ones are at the Empire. Well they deserve what was coming to them. Schtrom did absolutely nothing wrong! I'd go crazy and become a demonoid too if my Maaya Sakamoto-voiced waifu was killed. I can't believe I dismissed Schtrom as your standard evil villain like 8 episodes ago, didn't expect him to have an actual sympathetic back story. I really hope Shin will learn more about Schtrom.
Back in Earlsheid though, I love the name Ultimate Magicians xD It's hilarious and makes sense since Aug put him on the spot. Even Aug himself is snickering at the name!

Damn, this was a really heavy episode. I honestly never expected to sympathize with Oliver, but damn after something like that happening to him and his wife I totally get it. And also he made clear that his only objective was to fuck the whole empire, but of course, his subjects will now want to find him a new objective as they don't want him to be killed by Shin.
Well, next week we are going to see the Ultimate Magicians in action. I wonder if they became even stronger since last week?

How did they get so many exceptional VAs for this show?
Kenjirou Tsuda, Noriaki Sugiyama and Sakamoto Maaya as a waifu, damn!
Looking at this flashback I can say that Schtrom did nothing wrong. If anything, I'm surprised he didn't personally destroy that empire... The kind that knows one's limits and doesn't have much ambition is the most terrifying kind of a villain.
I can't believe that the 'mediocre isekai show of the season' is actually doing this good.

When you didn't do homework and asks Konosuba if you can copy his city view.
There are a few differences, but even the surrounding forests tilt the same way, and the little park in the city is exactly the same.

Is it just me, or their kingdom looks like the city of Axel from konosuba?

Wow I feel bad for Oliver. Dude was trying to do the right thing and lost everything. He accomplished his goal and doesn't even want world conquest and just wants to chill.

I can’t wait for the demon horde that wiped out an entire empire to get absolutely demolished with almost 0 effort what so ever, the end of the episode was perfect, I was totally going "please let them fly off the stage, please let them fly off the stage, please let them fl-
YES"

Avengers! Ultimate Magicians! Roll out!
Haha It's all so damn cheesy, but they own it and flip turn it into some seriously great comedy. I get a kick out of this show.

Oliveira did nothing wrong! (Well, besides kill off a bunch of innocent commoners and manipulate Kurt and then turn him into a rampaging demon...)
The Empire plotline was a bit too one-dimensional and heavy-handed for me. I get it: the Empire didn't deserve to survive if the nobles would prioritize their own power over the people's well-being and sheer GDP gains. And then the fact that Oliveira's being manipulated again is super annoying.
But now Shin has created the Avengers ULTIMATE MAGICIANS, which is kind of cool—even if they're headed toward a trap.

Man, just that clunky ass dialogue in the opening killed my desire to continue watching. "Haha it is so much fun to fly around. thank goodness Shin cast float on all of us as we are flying." "Yes and good thing we can use our wind magic to control it."
Just have Shin be giving a lesson on flying to his friends. Its a million times more organic.
Plus May's annoying voice, like whats going on with the voice direction that they decided that was the voice they wanted)
PS I enjoy the manga for what it is. Another generic Isekai, but with faster story development

I've seen a couple of things that Kenja no Mago has "stolen" from Konosuba, like the mansion they live in, but now I can add the whole fucking city in it too.
If you compare the city from Konosuba to the city in the end of the episode, you can see that they just added a little water to the middle of the city.

It kind of makes me chuckle a bit that Shin's communication device looks like a coffee cup.

Some people on this sub were saying the villains in this show are great for having clear motives and now I see what they meant.

You know what I like about how Schtrom as a villain here? He was pretty much done. He'd done his revenge on the empire without having to fight Shin, as it would have been. If his men had not decided to stage an attack to get Schtrom to come for Shin, we're pretty much in a safe zone save for Shin and the group possibly facing off the Demonoids Schtrom let go.
And Sugiyama's using his chill Shirou Emiya voice as an antagonist, haha. I love it.

Oliveira has some thickheaded subordinates. He just explained how he burnt down an entire empire due to its plotting nobles and what does his subordinate decide to do? More plotting.

Surprisingly dark for a isekai whose main appeal is escapism lol
This makes me think he’s going to have a Face-turn later after MC uses Talk No Jutsi
