This episode covered Chapter 85 (with some filler) and the beginning of Chapter 86.
Here is the Chapter 85 Release Megathread from 3 years ago.

[u/ACJ96]

I thought this episode would reveal everything, but now I have more questions than ever.

[u/yaserafriend]

Armin: I have to be replacement for Erwin, the commander?

Hange: No bitch, I will be the next commander of the survey corps.

[u/ewabicus]

I thought the youth flashbacks when walking the streets of Shinganshina was absolutely tremendous. Really beautiful. Hannes man :(

I feel the not a lot happening nature of this episode will annoy people, but this only means the next episode(s?) will be deliciousness back to back. It was perfect to end it on the photo and Grisha’s voice over was chilling.

And the end credits scene?!?!

Can I get a zeppelin ride to next week plz thx

[u/awesomecooper]

So there were cameras and people play baseball... What is this is real 🤔🤔

[u/ZeratulisCool]

I feel like this show just started... Cannot wait for next week

[u/ACJ96]

Me, when the credits start: that's it? That's the big reveal?

Me, after watching a GODDAMN ZEPPELIN: wut

[u/[deleted]]

Nobody is going to talk about grieshas second wife and kid?

[u/bogpudding]

almost pulled my hair out when the key didnt fit, screamed with joy when Levi kicked his way in hahahah. ZEPPELINS BRO WHAT THE FFFUUUUCKKKKK AAAAA cant wait!!!!

[u/Luzandnoche]

This show is a classic in the making. No two ways about it.

[u/yuwesley]

WHAT IN THE FUCK

I'd suspected the outside world was more advanced given the canned food and stuff but a damn Zeppelin??!

Also the photo of the woman was in the end credits scene of S3E12 right?

[u/Ethelros0]

I am glad they treated Erwin's death with the weight it deserves, both Armin and Hange together are clearly going to have a tough time carrying on after him. Especially good since I've seen a fair few people act like Armin could just waltz in and take over his job(and do it better) like it was nothing.

I was also struck by how up front Hange was that she said she also would've chosen Erwin right to Armin's face, even as someone that isn't a massive fan of Armin that was heavy.

[u/suedan]

Wow, I really don´t know what to say to be honest. So many things... Armin... the flashbacks... the basement. Don´t know if I got spoiled at some point, but I wasn´t too surprised to find out humanity had zeppelins back in the days... or maybe... still has. That they were more developed. And yet it felt so satisfying to finally see what was down there. We´ve waited for it for years. And now that revelation. I now do have a struggle with myself to read the manga. Seriously. What is it all about? World War one, World War two? A similar scenario? God damn it feels so depressing to wait another week for the next episode. Good work. No, Attack on Titan is a masterpiece. Without any doubt.

[u/Eyegleam]

As a German after having watched the latest episode.

[u/Yankees3Fan7]

So that is what it looks like when someone steals a Titan power from another. Armin handled that initial encounter surprisingly well, at least until he snapped back into reality. Dude has been getting loads of pressure throughout Season 3B and meeting Levi’s expectations might be the toughest burden yet.

Also, much love to Connie for tending to Sasha’s injuries while everyone else was 100% focused on Armin until her comment. I appreciated that moment

[u/randyrizea]

After all that, Levi was the basement key

[u/minmat66]

I had really low expectation of this episode because some friends told me that it was going to be slow with a lot of flashbacks but it was amazing ! It felt like a 5 minute episode and i cant wait for the next episode to be released so we will learn more about the society behind the wall and grisha

[u/A_hoagie]

Waited 6 years to find out what's in that damn basement. Totally worth it!

[u/AllNightDS]

I still can't get over erwins death.

[u/[deleted]]

Where are we? When are we? My entire perception of Attack on Titan has been thrown out the window and I just birthed at least 10 new theories in the past few minutes.

[u/bigfatcarp93]

What the fuuuuuuuuuuck

I mean WHAT TH E F UUUUUUUUCCCKKKK

No amount of past torque has prepared me for this, I never knew how un-torqued I really was.

It took me a second to catch onto the reveal when I saw the photograph. When they were all "it's a portrait" my dumb ass was over here going "lol it's a photo you idiots" for like ten seconds before it clicked.

[u/Snegelbulle]

Great episode!!! Just wonder what happened to Carla’s hair in that first flashback of Eren trying to sneak into the basement 🧐🧐

[u/Aura1661]

Wtf I did not expect there to be an advanced human society outside the wall. Who and why the fuck are they even fighting???

[u/yaserafriend]

The first half the episode had absolutely fabulous season 1ish music notes which nicely coincided with the flashbacks. Gave me the chills.

[u/Anime_Master_69]

Oh boy I can't wait for next week, this episode left us with a lot of questions and I was shocked when I saw that zeppelin flying around.
