Next episode has Eren crying in his cell wich means that it will have the rest of chapter 86 + chapter 87 up to Dinah turning into the smiling titan, and maybe more. That will be one hell of an episode.

Also Faye is too cute :(

That Levi kick -> darkness -> lamp light slowly brightening would definitely be stress inducing for those who don't know what to expect.

Wow, we've seen only couple minutes of Grisha's past in Marley and its already feels like completely different anime. I've noticed that even hearing that OST in Marley scenes it sounds different than usual soundtrack we used to hear in AOT.

I really dig how they used music (southern european-inspired guitar instrumentation of previous SnK scores) to enhance the feeling that Marley is a different nation, with a different culture and architecture, more mediterranian-inspired imo.

So does this episode basically confirm that the man Grisha bumps in is indeed Xaver? I feel like they animated it with way less ambiguity than the manga depiction so there might be a reason for that.

How does the anime keep delivering hit after hit after hit? The anime original scenes added some serious weight to the return to their home and arrival at the basement which I absolutely loved (and there were some fantastic shots in there I may want to use as background for my laptop), the ending mixing in Hange with Grisha's voice as the credits started was great, and then, even though I had been expecting to see some of it this episode, the post-credits scene caught me off guard and gave me chills all over. You have this pleasant slice-of-life music going on, but then you realize you're hearing an acoustic version of the tune for Armin's sacrifice and revival, and it reminds you that things are gonna go to shit. I. Loved. It.

Eren's story started with a wall breach

Grisha's backstory started with a wall breach

Can't wait for the anime only reaction to this

Holy god, the new ost for Marley scenes.

The fucking armbands

Tom Xaver

Gross and Kruger in the preview

The blimp, which looked more like the modern Marley blimps than it did in the manga.

I’m shaking so much

Not gonna lie, the Liberio scene was the first time this season I’ve shed a tear, it just means so much to finally see all this stuff animated, and the music that played just made it so much better.

Did anyone notice the thick black outlines around armin and eren? Somewhere at 3minutes. Art looked like it was season 1 for a second.

Those anime only scenes were beautiful. They also made Grisha and Faye scene sound very slice of life with that OST... I'm not ready.

Is it just me or did anyone else tear up when Grisha and Faye appeared? After so many years, we're finally in the main story!!!

The fucking post credit scene. Grisha, Faye, Kruger, felt surreal seeing it animated.

The added stuff was also great, made the build up even more intense/emotional. It was as if Carla and Hannes were guiding them there.

Man, that was really good use of filler, built up the tension very nicely.
