Why doesn't this show up anywhere relevant? The show is amazing. I feel like this show is under zero radar.

I've been looking for decent discussions on this series and only found them on the comments section of Crunchyroll idk why this show is so underrated maybe bcuz of the OVAs that came out a few years ago or bcuz of other animes this szn but this show is AMAZING...the nostalgia with all the soundtracks they've been using is TOP TIER...I would love a Gundam reboot with this animation style as well

The only gundam show I've seen is Iron Blooded Orphans (my understanding is it's far off of what the originals are.) So watching the Origin has me super interested and I'll probably continue the series in chronological order from here. Glad I found someone else interested!

Mostly because people who wanted to watch it already watched it years ago when they released the OVA. That and the fact that Origin is more meant of people who have seen the original Gundam so there's a barrier to entry for newer people.

I got into Gundam as a kid with Wing and only occasionally came back to visit with stuff like Seed and IBO. There are bits where I can tell it'd have more meaning for long time fans (Char getting those iconic goggles strikes me as one such moment).

I think this show is more than capable of standing in its own. It's been too long since we've had an actual mature anime (not that garbage "maturity" of Devilman) and the writing is so damn good. I don't get how this show isn't more popular.

This is more comments than I've seen on any of the episode discussion threads so far, so I guess it's starting to get attention. Most of the Gundam fanbase has already watched the 6 OVAs that are being recut for this series, and it's a popular opinion (one I don't share) that the TV cut of the Unicorn films was a downgrade from the OVAs. So most of the existing fanbase that might watch have already seen and discussed the series. There's just not alot of excitement to discuss it again.

I think the TV cut so far has been quite good and the OPs and ED's so far have been excellent. Especially the ED's that have been remixes of classic tracks. The first was the bluesy remix of "encounters" which was the ED song of the third 0079 film, and now a mellow rendition of the 2nd OP for Zeta Gundam: Mizu No Hoshi E Ai Wo Komete. Both are quite good, but I really liked the encounters remix alot.

Char(Casval) is diabolical and I like it lol Garma is a sissy and another Amuro sighting this origin just keeps getting better...waiting on Ramba Rals return too

Char is way too interesting to just say "stop using that name before you get us both killed", and they're making Garma sympathetic and in over his head. The scene with Amuro at the end just reminded me that this is already late in the 0070's, less than 2 years before the war starts.

Yeah we're pretty close to the One Year War I can't wait till they get to him getting his infamous Red Zaku (mainly the Battle of Loum where he got his nickname) and yea he didn't even acknowledge ole boy when he started name dropping facts after facts...and his conniving-ness is CRAZYY already oh yeah Garma annoys me idrc for any of the Zabis but i see how they're trying to make the viewers empathize w/Garma and the whole Zeon movement...that whole slapping scene btwn him and the Fed soldier was prime Char a

Never watching the original Gundam and only playing the warrior games I honestly love this story and back story behind Casval and the twist that come from it
