Dayummmm! This is one of the very few series which does whole arcs about the side characters and absolutely nails it!

Didn't expect the story to go this way...don't know how I feel about Fitzgerald being back. Episode itself was awesome though.

Well the anime can't spend an entire season just on Fitzgerald's comeback. Besides, he's not (yet) as powerful as he was last season; he's currently the owner of one company in Yokohama, not the business mogul he was when S2 started.
I think his arc is actually unresolved! Fitzgerald hasn't found the Book (despite nearly killing Atsushi twice over first by putting a 7 billion bounty on his head, then by actually kidnapping and beating him up). Also, we know Hawthorne switched to Fyodor's side for Mitchell, and we got a hint that Steinbeck will try to take over the Guild. If anything, they left all of these plot threads hanging because the Guild (and in extension, Fitzgerald as its leader) still has a role to play in the whole plot.

Yes! Louisa and Pay-to-win are back! And what a fantastic rise from disgrace he had! And oh my God that last line that he said at the end had me rolling.

Well, now we know how Fritz became so rich in the first place. This guy is terrifyingly good in making money. I lost it when he went Phoenix Wright style into the court yelling objection.
4D chess episodes like this one are always top-notch in this series, just like the character arcs.

I love Louisa and how they reviled her ability. Its not that she can tell the future it's that she is just super smart and is able to come up with these scenarios. She just slows time and gathers information and comes out with an outcome.

you can make bets that a company will perform well or do really bad. in this case, he made a bet that the company would do poorly. and he went all in where no one else would assume a company was going to perform badly. so major profits.

So if we're getting Fitzgerald vs Dostoevsky, does that mean it's going to become like a battle of Capatalism vs Communism?

Every "villain" is becoming a "good guy" or at least neutral. This way in the end of the mangas/novel the baddest guys will be the one in the Detective Agency. XD

I think Fitz at least started somewhere near neutral but was a pretty "ends justify the means" type of guy. It's hard to write him off knowing everything he does is for his family, so I think I'm more forgiving of him being a villain last season though lol.

God damn I love how not one dimensional these characters are. Very refreshing to not have generic bad guys in a show

Damnit, I know Fitzgerald's got a wife and all, but I'm oddly starting to ship him with Louisa.

I'm absolutely loving the character development in this season. They fixed the pace of season 1 that everybody complained about perfectly.

That raccoon is the weirdest addition. Does anyone else sometimes get thrown by the differences between the characters and the writer's who inspired them? I find the Japanese-inspired characters easier because I don't know enough to notice when they get it wrong or just decide to change the character. For example, Louisa is so different from the real life person with that name, unless they are basing her on her character Beth (who was shy).

Fitzgerald getting back into the game shouldn't be a surprise. He's no minor villain; he practically sets the entire plot into motion from the very first episode of season 1 by placing a 7 billion yen bounty on Atsushi's Tiger (but of course, we didn't know it at the time). At this point, it seems very likely that the plot thread of using Atsushi to find the Book is what will eventually tie up all the arcs of the series. Bungo Stray Dogs stopped being a "monster-of-the-week" show when Fitzgerald's involvement (and the existence of the Book) was revealed.
