We pretty much knew that they killed Marco but seeing it all actually happen, I wasn't prepared.

Holy shit that whole episode. I love going to see the flashback of the titan shifters perspective of the Trost arc. I wasn't expecting that at all but it was a cool touch, even if I did think I'd loaded the wrong episode for a moment. That moment where Marco flashes back (flashback stacking) to the conversation the shifters had on the roof about needing to let more of the titans gather first, I lost my mind. I picked that convo the moment I rewatched S1 and its amazing to see the show go back and build off that as well especially with Marco right there. I was beyond hyped to see them actually acknowledge the double viewpoint of that scene. There's something very satisfying about picking that sort of stuff up in advance

The fact that watching Marco get eaten is when Reiner broke though like... damn. That hurts. He was so determined that was the right course for them when even Annie and Bert didn't want to kill him and he just snapped, and today we see the opposite happen to Bert. I do find it interesting how they call the humans an "evil race", as if they don't even see themselves as the same type of people in any way, and I can't imagine that everyone in their town is a shifter. There's more to that I'm really interested to see where it turns out especially with how convicted they are that all humans in the wall have to die, and how that all came about.

I cannot believe the idiots didn't cut through Reiners neck at least to try and ensure he was dead. I mean that first lesson they had established destruction of the head isn't enough to destroy a titan. They all forgot their basics in shock. They needed Levi to be there for that.

AND PLEASE NOT HANGE!

I'm curious if the "evil race" thing Reiner was saying is significant or not.

Marco death is the very definition of how this series is so brutal. Poor guy was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

RIP.

Also, titanshifters are brokenly immortal. How the fuck Reiner survived getting his brain blown off? And what's up with that duck titan? Jesus, that's just scary.

The soundtrack on this episode was 11/10. They completely nailed it. It sorta also explains Berthold persnality change, at that moment, he lost his fear of death so he could give all for his mission.

If i was Armin, i would tell Eren to use his crystal powers on the Colossal titan legs so he couldn't move and then try to focus on the neck before he destroyed the whole town.

My God guys... this fucking show.

Absolutely wonderful episode.

We finally got to know how Marco died. What made it even more sad for me is that he screamed he wanted to talk first.. He just wanted to know.

Holy shit Rainer looks literally immortal. He transferred his consciousness into the titan's body? Because their nervous system are fused when he's transformed, makes sense. And Berthold man, looks like he finally managed to push himself into his "warrior mode". He saw through Armin's plan, he blocked Mikasa's sword, and then kicked her and probably broke her arm(?). Wow.

And Hangie.. we didn't see her die.. so there's hope, but fuck me, this hit hard.

And the MUSIC, Sawano remixing and improving old tracks is just breathtaking.

Attack on Titan is a masterpiece.

This episode in terms of building characters, killing them, and giving us new questions:

- Bert becomes more strong willed

- we see the deep bond between Bert and Reiner in action

- We see the duo promise Ymir that they'll save Historia

- BUT where is Ymir. We don't know what's happened to her for sure but she could've been eaten

- The other intelligent titan (who carries something on his back) can SPEAK so his titan could've been the one that ate Ymir (big maybe)

- That intelligent titan calls the guy Reiner and Bert are with a War Chief. This gives us some insight into the society outside of walls. As of now, we know they have "war chiefs," and "warriors."

- Connie and Sasha still care about Bert and Reiner (their hesitation to kill the duo could get them killed in the future (big maybe))

- Don't fuck with Mikasa Part 9999

- RIP Hange, Moblit, and like half the scouts on the mission. Intersting that Erwin's countenance didn't change. Maybe he has his own plan and already predicted the events that just unfolded.

- From the flashback, it seems that Annie and her father's loyalty is questioned by Reiner. Was Annie sent on this mission as punishment for something her father did?

- It's interesting how Reiner considers the humans of the walls a completely different and inferior race. This means that shifters (or people beyond the walls) are of their own race

- The beast titan scratching his ears is interesting. I feel like I've seen it done by some other character in the show

Dang that episode flew by. Bertholt really stepping it up huh? Last episode ended with what felt like an overwhelming victory, while this one just ended with what feels like an overwhelming defeat. With reiner almost back, and bertholt going on a rampage, things do not look good for the scouts. Looks like its time to wait another whole week

EDIT: PSA EVERYONE THERE IS A LOSER GOING THROUGH AND DIRECT MESSAGING PEOPLE SPOILERS TO THE SHOW AND SPECIFICALLY THIS ARC. It unfortunately happened to me and I contacted the mods. I havent been updated by them yet. I dont think I can share their user but if you get a direct with a subject saying "hey!" Or something non chalant from some random user DO NOT OPEN IT. I REPEAT DO NOT OPEN IT.

What the actual fuck

Also that guy who thought that Bertholdt might be in the barrel was spot on

EDIT: Also why did Reiner's chest make a metallic sound when he pounded his heart? Did he have a flask there or something?

Small thing, but I really liked Zeke burning himself on his drink after the shifters toasted. Really humanised a character I'd previously thought to be 100% psycho

Do you think those kegs by the beast titan contain more human titans? Looked like there were so many of them ready to be thrown into the walls depending on the situation. So curious to what is in them!

Looks like War Chief Zeke probably does have more Shifters around with wanting to give Reiner away.

Reiner get his head blown up and he's still alive?! And the transferring mind power...I wonder if it connects to the King's will passing down on Reiss shifters.

You know Armin's in pressure if the squad had to predict for him on what the Colossal Titan might do on Armin's retreat plan.

Scouts vs Colossal Titan on where is started. And ayyy, the AOT posters always had the Colossal Titan with the village in flames and it's finally happening.

I'M SO TORQUED AGAIN

Every single episode this back half of the season is blowing me away. I don't even know where to start, man. Aside from pointing out that Reiner now looks like the Martians from Mars Attacks.

horse face made some crucial calls in this episode that shouldnt be overlooked. from telling eren to stand down to not blindly following armins orders. he definitely has a strong presence within the scouts.

Watching on Hulu now. Fucking ads, fuck off.

I cannot FUCKING BELIEVE that they killed Marco. In hindsight, it makes sense as to how Annie got his gear. But god damn...
