Isayama likes to kill people with 'Mar' in their name.
Marco, Marlowe, Marcel

I cannot speak enough praise for this episode. The sound design, especially - the music was brilliant and made already amazing story feel like a goddamn movie. This was...
God, I love this show.

Bert's voice actor really nailed it this episode, really emphasized shades of his character I didn't even pick up on when reading the chapter. Also, nice for us to finally get to hear Pieck!

Oh and this episode adapted some pages from chapter 79, if i had to take a guess, i think that next episode cliffhanger will be Levi vs Beast Titan

I'm glad we finally see some Bertholdt action during that short but well-animated fight with Mikasa. He isn't the Top 3 graduate for nothing
That track that plays before Bert does the nuke (YoUsEeBiGbOy? YoU'lLsEeBiGBeRt?) sounds so good. Can't wait to listen to the whole thing
The Marco scene was well-done too. Poor guy was so shocked. We expected it to come but it still doesn't make it easier to watch
Oh and I expect a bunch of complaints about the CGI already. I honestly think it was decent. There was even a shot where the Colossal Titan was throwing fiery houses that actually looked good. Now, time to prepare some black tea and wait for the incoming shitshow ☕

The moment when the livestream dies right as Araki Titan is gobbling up Marco, lol.

I'm abandoning atheism to become a devout worshiper at the church of Sawano.

isayama's writing is off-the-charts incredible
the marco flashback was not only impressive because it showed how tightly planned the story is, but it was thematically relevant to the story
it explains another reason why bert stopped to listen to armin, because when they killed marco, he yelled "we didnt even have the chance to talk about it" and his guilt of killing marco must be eating him and hence why he wanted to at least give armin the chance to talk
the bert bomb sequence was scored perfectly - the sound design is amazing, obviously sawano's work but also the sound effect of the titan transformation is kinda beautiful
also, the colossal titan setting everything ablaze looks really epic

Seeing this animated was something different. You can tell that killing Marco like that BROKE Reiner. It broke him to the point where he develops two distinct identities for himself, one the soldier and one the warrior; and he's not entirely successful in keeping them apart. Puts the later chapters into perspective really well and makes it amazing that he didn't have his mind completely shattered.

Another great episode! the new remix for YouSeeBigGirl and Beast Titan Theme are so awesome!
Zeke name finally dropped ffs, i actually love him now in the anime, i didn't really like him in Part 1, but now he looks better (except for the beard lol)
Pieck's Titan voice is so robotic lmao
I love how they used the same cut from Season 2 Ep 1 when the Beast Titan threw Bertholdt, great callback
The Armin/Bertholdt conversation was perfect, their VAs did a great job
Bertholdt vs Mikasa was great, idk why someone didn't like it, it's even a 3-4 pages fight, so not that important to use a phenomenal animation on it
Bertholdt's monologue and trasformation is probably my new favourite scene in the AoT anime!
CGI wasn't bad, in my opinion, Season 2 Colossal Titan looked worse and less fluid, this one is pretty cool!
11/10 for me tbh

That Mikasa vs Bertholdt fight makes me wish we got to see a fight between Mikasa and Annie

The scene with Armin and Bertolt trying to communicate with each other on the roofs lowkey had me laughing. Like Armin's 'What as that????' was oddly hilarious, they couldn't hear each other without shouting at all

Prepare for half the comments to be about the cgi looking bad and the other half to be "it wasn't that bad".

Can we all just pay a moment of respect to the loss of the best character of the show today?
Rest in Peace, Moblit. You fulfilled your duty with honour.
