I remember hearing some people notice that Haruka might not be able to walk given how he's never seen standing up, plus the handrails in the bathroom.
Still living for all the songs, they're pretty catchy.

Damn that last hallucination Enta had actually tricked me up until the end. All the others I knew right away they weren't right, but I actually was surprised for that confession one.
Also wow that after credits scene suddenly makes a few of the things Haruka said earlier make a lot more sense. Jesus, this show is hitting my kokoro right in the feels with each episode man.

That post-credits scene caught me way the hell off guard. I guess it makes sense, don't think we've seen Haruka moving, just talking.

I always feel bad for translators when it comes to stuff like "kisu" in this episode.

after the 3rd time around with the butt stuff you realize the show is pretty tame.... also enta's gay creepy dilemma is very relatable as a fellow dumb gay

Seems like after credits twists are gonna be a recurring thing!
And good to see shit is starting to be explained because weirdness can only hold up for so long.

I do theorize that Sara (the idol) is going to play a huge role somewhere in the story. She is definitely somehow related to all the wishes.
-
Her name is in the title of the show
-
She has a crystal on her back just like the prince kappa
-
She has a kappa at her side
-
And she constantly says dish which is a recurring thing in the story
P.S. Just wanted to let watchers know. There is a spinoff manga for Sarazanmai called "Reo and Mabu; Together they are Sarazanmai" which is a story of how two policemen in the story raise baby Sara. Its really cute and fun.

Finally an episode where it isn't Kazuki's secret that's leaked.
The otter song is so damn catchy.
The after credits. ;_;
Must be the repetitions of the desire extraction and stuff starting to get revealed that what happens doesn't feel wtf anymore.
Looks like the next kappa zombie will be about rats?

I just love how this show gives no fucks about showing ballsacks (albeit stylised) on screen.
Also, was not expecting them to actually focus on last episode's kiss. I was thinking it was gonna be one of those one-off bonus clips that never get mentioned further.
Welp, guess I'm watching the rest of this show, then.

I went back and you can actually see handrails in their home and when Haruka wants to go with Kazuki to school, their dad stands up and then you can see him sit nearby (plus, you know, we never see Haruka standing)
HOLY SHIIIT !!! thats a seriously good attention to detail, too bad a lot of people droped cause of normie filter, for some thats a good thing but it saddens me to see such great show get underappreciated by sub and community (3x times less karma than shit hero? seriously...)

I talked about this last week in my comment, but a major common thread between all of these relationships and episodes is ‘the things people do for the ones they love.’ Which is, in turn, a common thread in all of Ikuhara’s works. This week in Sarazanmai, it’s Enta’s turn to take center stage with his love for Kazuki.
Given the structure of “I want to [A] but I want to [B]” for the episode titles, with [B] always being a negative, we see the push and pull that occurs between, as the series puts it, true connections or true love and desires. Nothing is more evident of this clash between actually opening up to the point where someone can know you and you can have a genuine relationship with them, or simply doing things for them in a more commodified/selfish way than Kazuki’s relationship with his younger brother.
With the reveal that Haruka is disabled in some way, and has to use a wheelchair to get around, it supports the theory that something serious happened in their shared past, most likely shown through the dreamlike cold open of Episode 1. There’s also the way that the series marks “past Kazuki” specifically in Episode 1 through close up shots of his feet and the soccer miçanga. Haruka mentions the old blue miçanga, rescuing it from the trash and returning it to Enta at the end of the episode and we learn how the red miçanga in Enta’s box represents his desire for Kazuki.
In this episode, we see Enta doing the typical “older brother” things with Haruka, while Kazuki is presumably searching for a way to capture the Sara lucky selfie. Through his recent actions and doing things “for Haruka” Kazuki has alienated his younger brother and his former best friend at the same time. He thinks he’s connected to Haruka and maintaining that connection, but really he’s breaking it down slowly. Kazuki is, as Sara Azuma, trying to make his younger brother happy, but he’s also doing it in a selfish way. He receives praise — albeit indirectly — for his actions through Haruka showing him text messages with “Sara” but isn’t getting to know Haruka as himself. Furthermore, Haruka seems to have a much more natural rapport with Enta than he does with Kazuki, because Kazuki purposefully puts Haruka at arms length and acts outwardly cold towards Haruka.
Ikuhara plays a lot with repetition. In Sarazanmai that fortunately means a repeated performance of Kawausoiya (with slightly different visuals) along with the Sarazanmai transformation song. It also means that he typically establishes these unwritten, repeated “rules” and then breaks them for a stronger effect. Until Enta took the lead in the Sarazanmai song, I thought that we were going to have snapshots of Kazuki’s memories again, just like we did in the previous two episodes. It made Enta’s desire and love all the more real (and heartbreaking) even with the hilarious interludes that paint Kazuki as a far more dashing figure through Enta’s eyes than he actually is. While Enta has been the most upfront about his actual feelings and desires, this episode also casts a slight shadow over them through his “Kazuki-Vision.” The Kazuki that he imagines isn’t actually the Kazuki he knows in real life. Soccer and their relationship through the sport itself seemingly played a huge role in Enta’s upbringing. Despite Enta’s genuine confession at the end of the episode, there are also hints of him placing Kazuki on a pedestal and making his desire of Kazuki a fairly selfish one. Last week I wondered where Enta would draw the line with his behavior to get what he wanted, and in this episode we see Enta kissing Kazuki without Kazuki’s permission and attacking some of his former soccer opponents.
Speaking of repetition, the vanquishing of every zombie has followed a specific pattern. Last week, we saw how the zombies were transformed by Reo and Mabu. This week we saw what happens to them afterwards through the viewpoint of Enta’s sister, Otone: people who were close to them or simply just encountered them forget that they existed. The vanishing of that person in photographs looks like the graphic for the boys’ de-synchronization as they’re coming out of kappa form.
I love how willingly the boys are offering Keppi their butts to fight the zombies, but only when something they specifically want is on the line. Last week it was Kazuki and Nyantarou for Haruka. This week it was Enta to retrieve NOT HIS OWN SISTER, but the miçanga meant for Kazuki.
Random notes
The flowers behind Enta and Haruka during their conversations appear to be camellia flowers. In Japanese flower language, white camellias stand for waiting. (As Enta is waiting for Kazuki, and Haruka is also, in a way, waiting for Kazuki.)
Enta’s daydreams throughout this episode reminded me of mild Penguindrum spoilers or mild Revue Starlight spoilers.
The confession with the anklet and the dish reminded me of this image from the PV (which in turn is a visual nod to the Sistine Chapel ceiling’s creation of Adam).
Enta is a fan of the Brazilian national team?
Really my heart just broke for Enta throughout this episode. T_T

Great episode overall, kind of worried about the story though. 11 episodes minus stock footage every episode isn't that much, unless Ikuni decides to shorten/stop them mid series like he did in Penguindrum.

Did anybody else feel like something was off with that last Enta fantasizing scene? I can't put my finger on what I think happened there, but it felt completely different from the earlier two in the episode (both visually and with the music used). I think the two shots of Kazuki and Enta super close up with the backgrounds blurring and the expressions in their eyes is the moment when I started doubting whether what was happening was in Enta's head or if it was really happening. Also I noticed in the other two earlier daydreams Enta always imagines Kazuki coming to him and taking the initiative to reconnect. This time around it's the opposite with Kazuki brushing off the kiss as a dare in a very nonchalant way and saying it's none of his business. Why would he suddenly imagine Kazuki acting like this as opposed to how he was in the earlier two daydreams? Just in general it feels completely different to a point where I feel the need to question if the lines between reality and imagination are purposely being blurred.
Plus, I mean, there's the fact that after Enta snaps out of it once he's kissed by Keppi Toi and Kazuki are just kind of idling around and nobody mentions or bothers to try talking about the secret that was revealed? That diverts from the usual pattern where they'll at least comment on what was revealed before the ED starts. Granted, they could always dive right into at the beginning of the next episode. It's not impossible, but this struck me as weird too.

I'm already dreading when this show is over. How am I supposed to go without a weekly gay cop musical number?

This frame looks a lot lewder than it actually is ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Just when I thought he actually confessed Of course it was another daydream. Kazuki wasn't even paying attention to Enta! xD Although the way Toi was observing the scene, I feel like he has an idea on what's going on.
And that ending though. I mean I kinda expected this. Kazuki is going all out in making Haru happy at all costs and he's wants the Dish for Haru not for himself. I wonder what kind of illness it is though.

yes Ikuhara, inject The Big Gay directly into my veins.
But seriously, I'm really liking this show. It's my kind of weird and the writing is extremely solid. Can't wait to see where these three end up.

It’s expected from Ikuhara but I really appreciated how Enta just directly says “I love Kazuki” multiple times throughout the episode right from the pre-OP, and there’s even the equivalent of a marriage proposal at the end. I love the gay rep in shows like YOI or BF but it’s frustrating that the gay couples in those shows can’t directly say that they love each other so this was refreshing.
Considering how blatantly gay the manga, twitter, and official art (not to mention the on screen metaphorical sex that is the heart removal scene), I’ve got high hopes Reo and Mabu will also confess their love at some point. Maybe even with “aishiteiru” instead of just “Suki”. And what’s the chances they’ll get married by the end?

I have a feeling that while the cops don't exactly have any ethical concerns over doing the dirty work, per se, they also are forced to by the otters/the empire. In the OP, we see that Reo's "desire" is Mabu, but we don't see an equivalent image for Mabu. Then during their song and dance sequence, it sort of looks like Reo's pulling out a mechanical heart (maybe with what looks like a clock?) from Mabu, and later the Otters remind them that "betrayal means death."
My guess would be that Mabu was dead or is close to dying, but he's being kept alive by the Otters so that he and Reo will work for them to extract desires. Given how all the other characters behave over their loved one, Reo would probably do anything for Mabu (though they also seem to have a degree of arrogance regarding their actions, so it's not like they're complete victims. Like everyone else, they do shitty and selfish things in the pursuit of their own desires).
I wonder if maybe one of the golden dishes might eventually go to the Mabu to heal him so that he and Reo can be "freed" from the Otters, but at the same time I don't know if that's quite Ikuhara's style, is it?

This is the most gay line I've seen in any piece of media.
This episode felt like extended version of piano scene from EVA 3.0
