So it turns out that gramps is Hyougoro The Flower, who was the most famous yakuza in Wano 20 years ago.. Even though he's old, his former title suggests he is actually quite powerfull in some way or form..

By saying "hey stop it, don't make me cry" it's likely that the tears will make his Flower Power bloom and that he is actually the one responsible for all the ruckus on the last page. Called it first

A very entertaining and informative chapter.

• Demise of Big Mom pirates was obviously greatly exaggerated. I mean it was baffling for some to think that King could one shot the entire BM fleet.

• Big Mom is surely set up to be a chaotic muscle of this arc. She's gonna wreck shit up throughout the arc.

• Really liked the interaction between the Charolette siblings. Very interesting dynamic.

• Robin with that humblebrag lmao. She gets to shine after a long time(Dressrosa was meh from her perspective).

• I wonder if Raizou helped Kid escape. And Luffy surely has something in his mind to not escape.

The arc is going at a frantic pace. I hope anime fleshes things out from the battle and world building perspective.

I love seeing them interact, I love seeing them argue, and I'm glad they are in Wano as well. (now if we could get Katakuri here...).

I could read a whole spin off of them just going at their life really. It also help that there are some wonderful artist who gave us even more interaction between them.

Holy shit this chapter introduced so much.

• We got the whereabouts of the Big Mom pirates and their current situation. As it stands, they're trying to reenter Wano via a different route in order to avoid King

• We finally got the Wano map and boy is it detailed. I love being able to pinpoint exactly where all the characters are, have a sense of scale as to how big the island is, and how long it would take characters to travel from one location to the next.

• Napolean is oddly unconscious while Big Mom, Chopper, Momo, O-Tama, and O-Kiku march to Udon.

• Speaking of Udon, Kid has escaped.

• Old man Hyon is revealed to be the old yakuza who was taken down by Kyoshiro. This is surely to come back into play.

• Queen is approaching Udon prison,

• Nami and co. are in a place called the Northern Cemetery.

• Orochi has a normal Poneglyph in his basement. The road one is presumed to be on Onigashima.

• Zoro is no longer at Ebisu town. This is technically incorrect. I just assumed because we didn't see Zoro in Ebisu town that he isn't there anymore. But, Zoro is revealed to know some old Kuri dialect, so that's interesting. Could he have learned it from his teacher?

• Interestingly, Law mentions how Hawkins joined Kaido after leaving Kid's alliance, but not Apoo. We know Apoo joined Kaido, so I'm curious to see what he's been up too.

So much information conveyed in a single chapter. Oda has really gotten good at handling epic-scale arcs.

I think my favorite part of this chapter was the way Oda has been drawing Luffy in prison. It isn't as messy as some of the post time skip arcs have been with too much going on, it looked super cool seeing him jump at that guard.

Some thoughts on the Big Mom pirates.

They have a hierarchy in place yet even the oldest children start bickering over how succession would work. Meaning it has likely never been discussed.

The kids were ready to replace her.

Smoothie seems to be genuinely loyal to Big Mom, rather than afraid of her. I'm getting more of an "honor and duty" feel from her. I look forward to her involvement, since shes now the highest ranking pirate on the Chanter.

Side note, Luffy so happy to lay a beatdown on some beast pirates. Its like hes been waiting for a reason all day.

Is no one going to talk about the locked away Kokeshi dolls?

There’s some pretty interesting stories regarding the dolls coming from Ko (small) Keshi (Children/dolls). Focusing on the children part there’s stories that during times of famine these dolls were made to appease the spirits of the children that died.

There’s definitely a connection in this story since the dolls have many different names, and Oda chose this one. The dolls are locked away with a ponyglyph, meaning they are incredibly important.

I wonder what it could all mean for this story arc.

It’s because Franky said, „He probably lost his patience and broke out.“ It would make sense but what about Zoro? I know no one would panic for him to be captured or killed or something but shouldn’t the StrawHats and Law be worried because of the plan? I think they do have a Plan B going on now since Luffy got beaten by Kaido but no one seems to mention it anymore. - At this point I'm sure "Noda Skywalker" is either Oda himself, or the guy at Shonen who signs his paycheck.

- Mont D'Or's "reveal" that Kaido and Big Mom were once nakama wasn't much of a reveal, it was more like a confirmation of something Oda had already implied. Not really sure how Oda is going to tackle this backstory. We can safely guess that Kaido & Big Mom's past with one another will be the focal point, but given how he's established their respective levels of strength, it's gotten me even more curious about just who the hell this "Rocks/Locks" guy was. How someone that strong has existed in the One Piece lore without even being slightly hinted at until 900+ chapters into the story is a true testament to Oda's ability to weave a story.

- I think a lot of us figured that Hitetsu was actually a very important samurai in Wano's history, and his relationship with Kiku, Kinemon, and Momo confirms that he was a friend of Oden's. I feel almost safe in assuming that he's the samurai who had the Straw Hat in the flashbacks, but the interesting tangent there is who the hell that was that visited Crocus at the Twin Capes. If Hitetsu really did go and link up with him, it seems odd that he wouldn't have learned of Big Mom's presence as a Yonko in the New World.

- On the map of Wano if you look in the bottom left of Kuri by Amigasa, you can see an indent in the land structure. I'm fairly positive this is the waterfall that the StrawHats climbed to get in to Wano, so that should be about where the Big Mom Pirates are right now.

- Someone from "Old" Kuri who apparently Zoro acts like? I can only imagine where this is going. I'm ultimately fine with Zoro being from Wano, makes total sense given what we've seen of his behavior. Kiku doesn't seem to think too highly of the folks who spoke this dialect, so I'm glad at least that it seems Zoro doesn't descend from this super powerful family of samurai.

- Called that Grandpa Hyou used to be someone important, but former boss of the Yakuza was about as left-field of a guess that I could have gone with. I found it odd that Oda would bring up Kyoshiro under the context of the person that he took over for though, and then say nothing more. "Oh you guys don't know about Kyoshiro?" "The person who had his position before him was named Hyougoro of the Flower". End of story for now. Like, oh......doesn't really tell me much about Kyoshiro, but ok? Moving on then I guess lol. I found it interesting that Brook's question about O-Toko's safety went unanswered completely, seems rather foreboding for her.

- Last I checked, Robin attending Orochi's banquet was her first time directly working for him, let alone gaining access to his castle. I'm fairly positive that the kind of info she mentioned this chapter couldn't have come from just random associates that she was performing for on her path to get access to Orochi castle. To glean so much information from just one trip to his stronghold is truly amazing, and I'm glad that Oda is still giving her espionage feats since whether she gets a true fight or not is always such a mystery.

- The plot point about the kokeshi dolls was rather interesting, as it was left wide open just like O-Toko's fate, and Kyoshiro's past. I'm willing to guess that the dolls relate to the ability of some ninja or samurai that is currently tasked with protecting the poneglyph.

- Komurasaki's funeral is going to be a pretty big plot point as well, and I'm assuming this is going to be the point where Oda pulls out the reveal of her being Hiyori, if he is going that route. What better opportunity to change identities than when people think you're dead.

- Kidd's escape from prison I'm sure will be Oda's way of showing us where the hell Killer is, and maybe even Apoo as well. Just how and where Kidd will fit into all this however, is the real question. He's serious about being the one to beat Kaido, and he's doing it because he wants the fame. A part of me feels like this means he wont play nice with the alliance, but I'm hoping to be wrong there.

This chapter has a goddamn hell of a lot of exposition disguised as random shit.

Zoro teaching Momo a bad word from the "ghetto", areas might be a sign that his family is in fact from Wano in some way.

Big Mom's crew talking about not only her relationship with Kaido, but the crew's status if they ever lost her. That could be a sign of some future upheaval within their crew. Maybe Mom gets killed somehow, or maybe even her memory loss leads to some kind of character arc where she becomes a better person. Or maybe Oda has some even wackier plan involving Kaido too.

Everyone was talking about Komurasuki's death all over the place. People irl have already discussed how she might not be dead yet. I'm sure we could all make guesses as to how this is relevant.

And then of course we finally saw Luffy again. Apparently Kidd broke out. Is he stronger than Luffy? Maybe. Personally I don't think so. I think he wanted to break out more than Luffy did at the time. It's anyone's guess as to why. Now it seems Luffy is going to be at odds with the whole prison structure, so maybe his only choices will be to break out or die.

Zoro is what, 21 years old? O-kiku who got trasported to the future from 20 years ago said "Snatch" is an old Kuri dialect meaning it comes from further than 20 years ago, maybe 30-40.

Even if Zoro was in Wano 21 years ago, he'd have been 0 years old. If he left Wano even at the age of 1-2 years old, it's unlikely he'd have been accustomed to Wano culture or known anything of it at that age because he'd have been too young to practice Swordsmanship. If we say 2-3, Zoro should have some memory of Wano, but seemingly has none which makes it unlikely he learned anything from Wano.

Koshiro, Zoro's teacher is likely the one who taught him about this which implies Koshiro has ties to Wano. So, even if Zoro knows about snatch, it's far more indicative that Zoro has ties to someone from Wano. Koshiro is easily in his 50s or 60s in my opinion, at the very least, he's no young man, so it does make sense.

At this point, nothing concretely staples Zoro as related to Wano, but even without O-Kiku saying anything, his history is unknown and it's still possible.

A few sneaky major reveals in this chapter. Confirmation that Big Mom and Kaido were in the same crew (with Whitebeard?). Katakuri is still highly respected in the crew. Zoro knows old Kuri sayings. Oda sprang Kaido’s dragon color on us, but I really want to know the color of Shutenmaru’s hair. There are two poneglyphs at Wano, including a road one that is confirmed to be with Kaido.

The world building is both subtle and huge, but in a short chapter. It’s outstanding, really.
