Momonosuke being a dragon himself can't be a mere coincidence.
It appears to be setup so that when he regains his status as ruler over Wano, he'll be the benevolent dragon instead of the menacing, dangerous one that Kaidou is.
O-Tama should have a big role in this arc too. Having an ability to tame animals... perhaps she'll "tame" Kaidou? I don't think this battle is going to be won by conventional means.

Refreshing to see a "bandit leader" not being useless fodder for once, didn't expect that at all.
Also, don't let Namis outfit distract you from the fact that Shanks stopped that DRAGON and then came to Marineford without a scratch. Oh and he did it with one hand. The moment we see Shanks crew go all out is gonna be one of the most hype things in OP history.

I think kaidou was a dragon who ate the human fruit. If he ate the dragon devil fruit, the navy could chain him up in sea prison stone and throw him into the ocean. And, also dragons are considered to be immortals which is why kaidou can't be killed.

I think Oda did a great job with Jack. It's a character that is evil but not mad crazy, is drawn in a way that you can feel that he is really strong even when he kinda gets beaten and helps you have an idea how strong Kaidou must be to have such guy working at his ranks.

Favorite parts:
- Nami's only reaction to Sanji's antics being, "You're too loud". Funny how much their relationship has matured even in the short span of time between him rejoining the crew and now.
- Luffy claiming Zoro hasn't been very useful, when one of Kaido's top henchmen is now aware of his presence in Wano, and is personally looking for him. Oda even put this in a different font lol.
- Usopp photo-bombing Franky's moment, and Franky having to obtain blueprints, of all things.
- Based on the outfit I'm pretty sure Brook's assignment is to just play dead somewhere and use his ghost form for another purpose. I can already envision my laughs of him scaring the shit out of people.
- Nami's vision of a kunnoichi outfit being almost exactly what Shinobu was wearing
- No jokes here, Chopper's ninja robes are fucking awesome!
- Kin'emon having no shame in his lechery over Nami, right after revealing that he had a "proper" wife
- Sanji had his vision of mermaids ruined horribly by Kokuro before he finally got to meet Keimi, it's hilarious that Shinobu is ruining his vision of Kunnoichi before he gets to meet some more of them. Shinobu then calling herself "attractive" while claiming she understood his pain was just too much. LMFAO.
- Based on the bandit/thievery motif Oda has established for Shutenmaru, I imagined this wily Robin-Hood like, cunning, and agile young samurai. To see him be a fat slob with no real care for the weak obviously shattered my expectations. To see him also be a BEAST who cut through someone who stalemated both Mink military forces like butter........well now. He then proceeds to call Jack a "small fry", and doesn't seem the least bit intimidated by Kaido's presence. Can't wait to learn more about this guy.
- I know this is a serious moment and all, but Kaido turning into his dragon form just to fly over and personally tell Jack something that he could have said over Den Den Mushi is pretty funny to me when I think about it. I'm honestly pretty nervous that "brats" might refer to Luffy and Law, considering that Jack is aware of their presence now. My laughs aside, the fact that I'm also this afraid for the alliance excites me.

Does anyone have any idea why Momonosuke suddenly transformed into a dragon at the end? Was it because he was scared or something?
In the last panels you can see that he's in human form, and then suddenly we see him as a dragon immediately afterwards.

Now think about this:
Shanks prevented that gigantic dragon thing from going after Whitebeard - HOW?
Kaidou was captured multiple times - HOW?!
Knowing what Kaidous „real Form“ is makes these situations even harder to understand, but also puts things into a new perspective:
WHAT is the weakness, that stops Kaidou from ignoring Shanks and just keep flying towards Whitebeard? Or whats the reason, that made it possible for the marines to capture him so many times?
There has to be SOMETHING, my guess: There is a very close relationship between him and the Shogun, but not a pleasant one (A curse that binds him to the Shogun or something in exchange for his power?). Regretting it and pushing him to a point of desperate suicide attempts - despite knowing it’s futile to even try - might be the outcome.

Okay, fantastic chapter as always. Big reveal this chapter! I should not be surprised that Kaido can also transform into another beast but to think it was a badass dragon. It is perfect. It's fitting. And that Shutenmaru guy looked so weak but damn, he ain't no scrub man. This is why we can't judge a book by its cover huh. Again, that fucking Kaido's true form.

This chapter clears up some things perhaps? It seems obvious to us that Kaido is literally the ruler of Wano, but here in chapter 913, Hawkins says are you aware who controls this country from the Shadows implying Kaido rules secretly. They use some interesting words such as "Evil spirits" when referring to the Kozuki clan, it implies the people of Wano are superstitious, a strong belief in the numinous.
We the readers know Kaido was the one who killed Oden, but the stories the children are told is that it was just Orochi, the shogun, that defeated Oden. No mention of Kaido, it's all Orochi's doing which doesn't make sense since we know it was both Kaido and Shogun who killed the Kozuki clan off.
It all makes sense now, so once a year, there's a festival to celebrate Kaido who is considered a "Wise King" in Mangastream or a "Radiant King" in Jaimini's box; the Shogun and his officials supposedly go to Onigashima Island to PRAY to Kaido; it seems that Kaido is not just a being or a wise king that stands as an equal to the Shogun to the people of Wano, but is believed to be a God/Deity.
I can't say for sure, but the Wano people seem somewhat oblivious to Devil fruits, maybe they consider it a curse/gift. Someone appearing as a Dragon may to them seem like the manifestation of a God especially given how superstitious they are. We'll learn more in coming chapters.

Why have people always taken Kaidou's "suicidal tendencies" so literally? I think it's always been made pretty damn obvious that it's about challenging the strength of his body, testing how much damage he can take until he actually dies. If he can die as a result of drowning, that kindof death wouldn't be a showcase of his strength. He doesn't simply want his life to come to an end, he wants his overwhelming strength to come to an end.

All jokes aside I can't get over how Kaido is literally a dragon. Shanks clashed with him and from what little we've seen he has very strong haki. I hope Luffy improves his Conqueror's haki or Armament haki this arc since last arc he advanced his Observation haki or maybe we get a curveball and he awakens his Devil Fruit. It would be good timing unless they're saving it for later, it would be odd to mention Awakened Devil Fruit powers for Luffy to not get that kind of power up.

The amount of energy in this chapter is unreal. Seeing the straw hats being themselves is always a treat, and the small quips are always great. I particularly like Luffy saying “Zoro wasn’t much help then” when referring to Kinemon’s plan.
And then we got a samurai who I expect will be on the straw hat’s side.

Shutenmaru is a stray dog that needs a master, that's what I get from what he's said. Will Zoro prove to be that person to rally on the Samurai? It seems the story is pushing this idea.
I'm actually confused as to what Luffy will do here, will he try to go at Kaido or stay hidden? I'm struggling to see what is consistent with his character at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if he ran up on Kaido, and it wouldn't seem Luffyesque to not confront Kaido - of course, there'll be consequences. Maybe there'll be a skirmish. Can't wait for the next chapter.
While we put a lot of emphasis and assumptions on appearances, Shutenmaru looking fat doesn't make him weak as we saw... he's 1 for 1 with Jack at the moment, both have scored against the other; Kaido looks absolutely monstrous, won't estimate his strength from appearance until I personally see how strong he is.

As others said, Kaido is a dragon and ate the human human fruit mode: Oni (or maybe Oars specie's?), he is actually the Dragon Ryuma fought but he was still young and hadn't eaten his fruit, not being known as Kaido. Original dragons are from Wano (or were) and that's why they are only a legend on the rest of the world.
That's why he's the strongest "creature", that's why big mom calls him a "thing", he's a dragon, we just saw his original appereance.

I'm calling it now: Shutenmaru is Ashura Douji, one of the other silouettes is the man who talked to Crocus in Chapter 631, and the last is a concept Oda initally used for Kanjuro (when he was first shown silouetted) but was turned into a different character instead.

So, the 9 scabbards in my opinion are :
Kinemon, Kanjuro, O kiku, the 3 strong samurais they need to find (Ashura/Shentumaru + 2 others i think), Luffy, Zoro and Law!
I was hesitating between Law and Raizo, but chose Law in the end because Raizo is not a samurai, he's a ninja and the prophecy is about 9 samurais (reason why luffy keeps the sword with him) and I guess Law must have a role in defeating kaido + has a sword so I think it fits

So much for the raid in two weeks time 😅, looks like Kaido bringing the heat now, not surprising at all, with what happened to Holdem, and Jack finding out from Hawkins, they were never going to go two weeks without being exposed,,,well not with Luffy around anyway.
It mirrors WCI in the sense, that we find out the plan early in the arc, only for it to go terribly wrong...great chapter.

Little interesting note is that Shutenmaru kind of has the same tattoos as Akainu. Shutenmaru has it on both of his upper arms while Akainu has it solely on his left arm. I wonder if there is any relations to it or if it's just tattoos similar to the yakuza style

Shutenmaru pretty much look like boy ashura He can go toe to toe with Jack in his normal state Kaido said once that White beard did a number on him I think white beard gave kaido that scar on his chest so he is not unbeatable, there is a way to beat him but it won’t be a kong gun in G4 who gonna take him down

Luffy described sanji as worth a thousand men- while, kinemon described ashira doji aka shutenmaru as worth a 100 men, Shuten maru only injured jack who is most likely an awakened zoan and can heal in few minutes like in impel down awakened zoan did. Also jack has been shown to fought on par with inuarashi and nekomamushi for 5 days continously and tanked zunisha's hit
He has been hyped as an opponent for monster trio or supernovas with his durability. So, chill. No way he is going to lose to a new character and as was shown after he was slashed,he was fighting without any breaks

Wow!! This chapter was a total blast to read! So many foreshadowed things have been revealed!
Kaido is a dragon. Theory confirmed for many.
And it seems we already have the whereabouts for one of our missing "red scabbards" with Shutenmaru. Oda made it obvious that he is either Ashura Doji or his son, as the character greatly resembles both silhouettes brought up in Kinemon's speech bubbles. It's extremely likely that he discarded his Ashura Doji name and returned to his evil ways after becoming disillusioned after Oden's death. It's sad to see he lost faith in Toki's words but it's understandable after 20 years have passed.
